@.twist.: I vaguely remember reading something about the reason why drop-side cribs are not safe is because they started using plastic parts. If it's an old crib that is put together with metal parts, you might be ok. Just food for thought.

@StrawberryBee: That is a very bad day. I hope today is going better for you!
Btw, you guys are making me super hungry. I need to go find my supper!

A little late joining but here goes!
Name: Kristen
Is this your first baby? Yep! And we couldn't be more nervous/excited!
Any symptoms so far? Nausea, dehydration, sore boobs, heatburn, acid reflux, insomnia, food aversions, bloating, gas, constipation.... oh the fun of pregnancy!
When & how did you find out? We found out the DAY of my missed period in November. I was too excited/nervous to wait and it was positive! I peed on a stick, saw the two lines, ran upstairs and practically jumped on Mr. Hedgie screaming.
What are you most excited for? Other than the baby and these symptoms to calm down? See the baby and my belly grow. Actually looking as pregnant as I feel!
What are you least excited for? The birth... seriously. I want the baby to be born but I am not to excited about the process leading up to that.

We aren't due until August 27th and wont find out the sex until our 20 week US... I am so jealous of you ladies who already know!!! I might cave and opt for a 16 week US if we can. Sure it will cost more but finding out is so worth it right?

@Mrs D: Awesome!! Thanks!
Keep posting freezer recipes if you have them!
Also, I just ordered this as a pregnancy announcement:
I tried to post the picture, but the add photo feature doesn't work on any of my computers! My dog lives with my parents (long story, probably pretty predictable though) and so I'm goign to mail this down to them them as part of their big announcement package then eventually post a picture of her wearing this on facebook!

@Mrs Hedgehog: Welcome!!!
@Modern Daisy: Cute announcement!
@.twist.: Dang it, seeing the roll call list and so many grilled cheeses is making me crave one again. Arg. lol

@Mrs Hedgehog: Welcome! I won't find out the gender probably till late March, so I'm feeling your impatience!
@Modern Daisy: That is sooo cute! I should get one for my guy in blue. I would have to get the 3XL though and hope and pray that it would fit. He's a big boy!
@Alivoo01: I made my hubby get American cheese last night. We've been trying to avoid it as it is so processed, but I really wanted a grilled cheese made with American Kraft Singles...I know what I'll be having for lunch!

@Mrs Hedgehog: Welcome!
I had my first going-to-be-a-mom anxiety dream last night. I had the baby (a girl) and for some reason we had left the hospital early. We went to my parents house (where their were tons of people), and I went to bed. The next morning I was having a shower when I realised that I hadn't fed the baby all night! I ran to look for her and she was on a big bed, sucking on a soother, happy as a clam (in the dream I was worried that she had starved to death overnight). I somehow figure out that someone must have fed her formula and that's why she wasn't dead and I tried to breastfeed her. I tried all sorts of different positions but she kept popping off. But no crying, so that was good. Woke up feeling like I was a terrible mother - who forgets that they have a newborn to feed?
Anyone else have anxiety dreams yet?
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Grace: No anxiety dreams yet but I did have a very vivid dream that LO is a girl...

@.twist.: you are sweet for asking! My appointment was great - weigh-in (I gained 4 lbs in 4 weeks... Yikes!!) BP check (good) and just a chat. We arranged my ultrasound and screening tests for Feb 12th (so excited) when I will be just past 12 weeks!!
I'm going to make a conscious effort to eat smaller portions. I've gone overboard this past month (last two weeks especially).

I'm so behind again! No fair, my internet access at work is limited I have been sooooooooo tired today! I actually started falling asleep with my boss right next to me. (whoops). I may need to tell her sooner rather than later! Hope everyone is feeling good today!!!
@Ocean girl: Yay for having a great appointment!
@Mrs Hedgehog: Welcome!
@Alivoo01: hehehe.... I had another grilled cheese today With fruit, though. Trying to make it a little healthier, lol.
@Grace: I haven't had any mom-to-be anxiety dreams but I have had a crap-how-does-everyone-know-I'm-pregnant dream! Most of DH's family lives in another country so they're all connected through facebook. In my dream, one person found out and spread it ALL OVER THE INTERNET before any of my family/friends knew. I was terrified!
@Mrs D: I will definitely be checking these out. I was vegetarian... up until about 6 weeks. Apparently baby likes meat, lol. DH was never veggie though and I definitely need to start testing out recipes. I only have a couple that I know freeze well and I'm scared of what our meals will look like in August/September if I haven't stockpiled our freezer!

@StrawberryBee: I just saw this- I'm so sorry about your kitty! I hope things are going better, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers today.

@Ocean girl: Yay for a good appointment, and a date scheduled for the ultrasound! Feb 12th isn't too far away!!!
@Grace: No anxiety dreams lately, but I did a few weeks after I found out about our BFP. Watch me jinx myself and have one tonight. Ha!

@Grace: I haven't had any crazy dreams about baby but I have had insane dreams about almost everything else!!!
@Ocean girl: So glad your appointment went well. Only about one more week and then you get to see your little bean!!!!

@Alivoo01: @.twist.: Haha! I was going to put bacon in it, but I resisted the temptation. I am not a very good cook and grilled cheese is one of the only things I am good at, so I just got lucky that it's one of our categories! DH is grilling burgers tonight, but I won't post a pic!

@lawbee11: there is a 95% likelihood I am having a grilled cheese for dinner! Unless DH and I go out for Lebanese (which I am hoping I can stomach!)...
And tomorrow we are going to Hibachi!!!! SO excited for the fried rice!

@lawbee11: omgosh I think I'm drooling a little bit!
@Mrs D: crap. Now I want hibachi. Time to start sucking up to DH

@lawbee11: hm... I might just have to make myself a grilled cheese tonight! LOL.

@JamieLee: @.twist.: @Modern Daisy: @Grace: @Alivoo01: @msmay: I hope I didn't forget anybody! Thank you SO much for your wishes and thoughts on my cat's progress; it means so much! I do have some good news. The insertion of the feeding tube went okay. The vet was initially concerned that his bilirubin was way high and might indicate that his gall bladder was completely obstructed by stones (which is apparently a thousands of dollars type surgery, and only done by emergency). Thankfully the next one they did didn't indicate a sky high value, and most of the other values (concerning his liver) were going down.
So now he's home with me, chilling in my stepdaughter's room...not sure what I'm going to do next weekend, but taking each moment as it comes. He gets a liquid diet feeding that takes about half an hour to 45 minutes every 4 hours (I had to laugh and wonder if this is the universe's twisted way of preparing me for a baby ;)). He's also on six meds, some of which get injected directly into the tube. Tomorrow he gets to go to feedings every 6 hours.
The BEST news is that the moment I brought him home, he was super interested in his dry food and I couldn't get it out of the bag fast enough. The vet actually decreased the amount of liquid diet he's on in the hopes that he'll eat more of the dry and get weaned off and back to normal.
And...I'm not nauseous today! I take every day like that as a blessing :).
Hope everyone else is doing well!

@Mrs Hedgehog: yay and welcome! I know how you feel; my due date was originally the end of July and I felt like everyone was doing everything before me lol. On the plus side, other people get to be guinea pigs and let you know what to expect down the road!

@StrawberryBee: Yikes! Poor kitty. I'm glad he's doing better. And glad you had a good day!
Girls - I found 3 stretch marks this morning. WTF!????!!?! I'm only 11 weeks. At this rate I am sooooooooooo doomed!
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Grace: for me, I may not even notice new stretchmarks amongst all the old from childhood/puberty ;).
You get used to them? ^^;;
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
@Grace: Yeah, I'm so marked up from growth spurts that I doubt I will notice any new ones. Sorry about yours though - its never fun to find stretch marks!
cherry / 163 posts
@StrawberryBee: So glad he seems to be doing better! Keep eating, kitty! And maybe his feeding schedule will help prepare you for baby, haha!
@Grace: I already have stretch marks (boo) but I have noticed that a few of them are becoming more noticeable I'm really worried at this point, too. It's strange though, because I've somehow lost 5 pounds since I got pregnant. Not sure what's going on... fingers crossed for both of us that they don't get worse!
I probably won't be on the boards much tomorrow as it's going to be a long day but my appointment is in the morning so I'll try to pop in and give an update. Hope everyone's having a great weekend!!!!

Hi girls, hope it's not too late to join you ladies!
Name: Laura
Is this your first baby? Yes
Any symptoms so far? Not too many, which freaked me out at first, but I've had some minor food aversions, sore boobies, and I'm super gassy lol
When & how did you find out? I tested early 10 dpo and got a BFN. I cried. I then tested again at 11 dpo and got the faintest of faintest lines. I was in shock!
What are you most excited for? Finding out the gender and watching my belly grow. Also can't wait to feel kicks~
What are you least excited for? I feel like the last month of pregnancy is going to be a drag. I can already feel how impatient I'm going to be waiting for baby!
PS my due date is August 1st!
