Saturday morning, I had a small bloody show. I tried to go through the rest of the day like normal but it was peppered with contractions. I spent most of the day sleeping which turned out to be a good thing because 11:45pm I started having contractions less than eight minutes apart and ended up really losing my mucous plug. That continued to about 4am when all of a sudden contractions were three minutes apart. A FTM who lives 45 minutes with no traffic from the hospital I freaked out. So did OH. We ended up forgetting the carseat (base was installed!)

At the hospital, they found I was 100% effaced but only 1.5cm dilated. After two hours and no progress I was allowed to roam the hospital. Contractions started to get more intense but further apart. I was then given 5mg morphine and allowed to sleep three hours. After that I was 3cm and was admitted and given an epidural (it was 4pm at this point).

By 7pm I was 7cm dilated and baby was at a +2. OB was confident this was going to be an easy birth until she figured out baby was sunny side up.

I was allowed to start pushing a little after midnight (on C's due date!) and pushed for two hours. She made zero progress because she was stuck on my pelvic bone. My left hip hurt so much as a result that I couldn't stop crying. My OB then came in and agreed to use a vacuum. Six contractions later (and after 27 hours of labor) C was welcomed in th world.

I got a second degree tear, but C was perfectly healthy except for her large bruise on her head from the vacuum. 7lbs 2oz and 20.5 in.
