@teawithpaloma: Wow! You are working right up to the end. Do you work at home or outside of home?

@MrsKerch: who knew pelvic exams could be so entertaining, right?
@pregnantbee: bday is august 2! I was thinking about taking the day off, but I still have a lot to do at work before the baby comes so I'm undecided. We'll be going out for a nice dinner though, which I'm excited about!

@agold: I consult both in and out of the home! So I went into the city yesterday for 1/2 a day and it was brutal with our heat right now but I find I go crazy with just waiting around for something to happen!

40 weeks over here, but no sign of baby! I lost some plug (or all of it? I don't know how much to expect) but nothing else. Baby still hasn't dropped either. Had my OB appt and all still looks fine, have my next appt at 40+6 where I think she'll push me to induce. Not sure how I feel about that.

@Umberto: hope something happens soon! With my first I went in to the docs a few days before 40 weeks and nothing was happening. Lost my plug Friday night, went into labor on my due date. Baby didn't drop until well into labor. So, you never know! It's so hard to wait- hang in there!

@Umberto: inductions can be a good thing! Talk to your doctor about the approach they would use and what to expect. Good luck!

So my water broke 10 mins after I went to bed! In hosp getting monitored now, contractions are around 5 mins apart but very mild. Guess we'll wait and see!

@Umberto: Wow! Guess you won't be needing to pursue induction after all at 40 + 6! Great news. Good luck! Hope everything goes smoothly!

@teawithpaloma: You are a good hard worker! I hope you don't have to go into the city too many more times. How long is the drive for you?
@Umberto: how exciting!!! Good luck!!

@Umberto: Aaaahh!! Lucky! I hope all goes well. Will be thinking of you.

Hello all! Thanks for the well-wishes
Got to the hosp at midnight, all good on the monitor, they said come back at 0830 (or earlier if contractions are too intense).
Contractions were every 3 mins or so until about 4am when they fizzled a bit. Went back to the hosp at 0830, again all good on the monitor, had a chat to the OB and she gave me option of getting induced straight away, or going home for max 24 more hours and hopefully things will pick up by themselves. If they don't, we begin the drip tomorrow morning.
I chose home! I'm glad they're being really respectful of my 'minimal intervention' wishes. So now I'm chilling at home. We'll see how today goes!

It's due date city over here and nothing yet. Plan is for an August 4 induction if I don't get things started on my own!

@teawithpaloma: hope something magically happens for you or that you at least can look forward to an end in sight!
@Umberto: hope you have a baby!

@T.H.O.U.: Thanks! I am just one of those people who would probably go to 42 weeks but the traditional OBs just don't really let you go that far!
@Umberto: Yes, very much looking forward to a happy update!

She's here! Baby girl (still a girl!!) was born 7/29, 7:46 p.m. After 3 hrs 45 min of labor and 5 pushes. 7 lbs 14 oz. Got to the hospital around 6:30 p.m. No pain meds, no IV. It really couldn't have gone any better. Crazy! Thank you all so much for your support as I have willed this child to arrive. You are all the best!
