@MrsKerch: @T.H.O.U.: Yes, I posted it. I'm headed to the store now but will try and find it on here when I get back. I finished the meal prep list so I tossed it once I was done so I will have to find it in this thread. I think I know about when I posted it.

Okay, so I got my first rude body comment today. From a non-native US person - "You are very big". Um, yes? Thanks? So are you? I just ignored it and continued to lead my meeting.
apricot / 256 posts
@ShootingStar: super annoying, but if not a native, perhaps they just got their words mixed up? Still, sorry that happened.

@MrsKerch: Oh no, she knew what she was saying, lol. Her culture is just known for being very blunt.
pear / 1718 posts
@ShootingStar: There's a difference between blunt and rude . . . imo that transition occurs when people make unnecessary (and/or unsolicited) comments about you personally. That bitch was straight up rude! I'm sorry. Is it wrong to hope that she pees on herself a little the next time she sneezes . . . ?!

@ShootingStar: People are such rude jerks all around. I got my first "are you due very soon?" comment from a grocery store clerk. It's annoying because, no, I still have 4 more weeks and my stomach actually is measuring weeks behind, which is a huge concern for me on its own. No comments on a pregnant girl's stomach are ever appropriate. But I think the vast majority of people are just so naive and clueless.

@ShootingStar: ugh, this is while you were leading a meeting?! there are so many cultures that are known for being blunt (was she dutch, by any chance? ha) but this is our culture and there's no excuse for being rude. or interrupting a meeting... jerks.
@agold: also sorry that was not super sensitive in all fairness, I actually do think 4 weeks is very soon! or, put another way, I am so ready to not be 9 months pregnant so I *want* to think it's very soon. my fundal measurement is also behind if you need some solidarity, lady. I think we're both in good care though and the babes are fine

I think its amazing too how much comments can vary depending on what outfit I wear and how much I've ate that day!

@OldpuebloJenn: I've never heard of eating dates for help with L&D. Interesting article!

@LCTBQE: Thank you for your comment. So I actually also feel like 4 weeks is soon, but I'm not ready and I want it to feel like a year away. And it does help me feel better to know your tummy measurement is small. I'm going tomorrow to check amniotic fluid again. I'm drinking so much water now.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@agold: I hope your fluid levels look better tomorrow and that you don't require an early induction or what have you! Update us when you can.

@coopsmama: Thank you so much. My appointment is at 8:30 am and I will give an update as soon as I get back to my office. I'm not totally worried and am just hoping baby can stay in and happy and keep growing strong.

@LCTBQE: I was getting set up - connecting to the webex and the projector, etc. someone asked me if it was my last day and I said no, but last week in the office. And then that woman was like, "you are very big" and I had no good come back so I just turned back to my computer and was like anyways, here's the stuff I need to present so you're all prepared while I'm out...

Oh but in good work news, I got promoted yesterday! I was expecting it, but a little worried it wasn't going to happen before the baby came.

@ShootingStar: congrats!! That's a nice little bit of last week of work icing on the cake!

Had my first BPP scan yesterday. It went well, tech said baby girl did well. Passed 8 of 8 tests, measuring 5 lb 13 oz, head down and to the right. I meet with my OB on Thursday morning for NST and regular appointment. We'll see if they're still able to measure contractions that I can't feel. Only thing I'm feeling these days is enormous and some annoying low back pain, localized to just above one butt cheek or the other that feels like an old sports injury. Applying ice off and on has helped so far. We're all getting so close ladies!!

@MrsKerch: Glad everything went well. I can't wait for more of us to have our babies!
pear / 1718 posts
@MrsKerch: My low back pain seems to have come out of the blue! I have had little, if any, during the pregnancy, and then all of a sudden this past weekend, helloooo pain (even one-sided pain, right above the right side of my booty).
coconut / 8472 posts
@MrsKerch: I had unnoticeable contractions a lot with DS. I had NSTs starting at 34 weeks and I think after I'd been doing it 2-3 weeks I saw it on the monitor. Or actually, DH pointed it out and was like, "Can you feel that?" Then a week or 2 after that I started having noticeable contractions.
So don't worry, it's pretty normal . For me, it did get annoying because I kept thinking I was going into labor and then it would stall. I even got to 5-1-1 and we made it all the way to the hospital and they fizzled out. Lesson learned - if the intensity doesn't become consistent along with the timing, they're probably going to fizzle.

@ShootingStar: Congratulations on your promotion! That's amazing!
Some good news for me this morning - my amniotic fluid more than doubled! It went from 6 last Friday to 14.5 today. Phew and hooray! I go to OB on Thursday and back to hospital for fetal monitoring and amniotic check on Friday.

@ShootingStar: A big congrats to you! That is awesome! And amazing right before maternity leave - what a boost as you leave for a bit.
@agold: Best news you could hope for! Glad to hear it.

I am SO over pregnancy this week. I am struggling so much to keep up with my two toddlers. I feel like I spend my entire day getting up and down and helping them pick up all their toys and my body feels like it's about to fall apart. I know it wouldn't be so bad if I weren't having to watch them all day, every day - it's just SO hard to maneuver this huge bump around them.
All that to say - counting down the next hour and a half until nap time. And it's been too hot to play outside beyond 11am really, so bring on the screen time. No one judge me.

@Silva: @coopsmama: Thank you, girls! I was certainly happy to hear that the number had doubled.
@coopsmama: Ha! no judgment here. Bending over is certainly hard and I don't even feel too entirely big at this point. You poor girl. Can you nap when your little ones nap?
pear / 1718 posts
@agold: That's fantastic! Awesome job!
@coopsmama: The getting up/down is so difficult and uncomfortable. No judgment here. Your littles will enjoy it and your body needs the rest!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@agold: I could nap, yes, but I really need to work and make some extra $. Especially since we found out today that DH won't be getting a raise this year. It's a biiiig bummer because we were hoping for some extra margin. He should get it next summer and we've had raises yearly so I can't complain too much but it still would've been nice and we were really hoping for it.
@pwnstar: Too true - they absolutely enjoy it! And quite frankly, I'm not sure that playing outside in 95 degree weather for hours on end (as they would do because right now they are ALL about playing outside vs. inside) is great for them, either, so something that keeps them inside for a bit is also healthy for all of us!
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@coopsmama: Oh, wow. That is really a bummer about the raise. I hope he gets it by next summer. My husband is supposed to have gotten a pay raise months ago and it hasn't come through on his checks yet. So we are expecting a giant check soon.. but I really hate waiting for that kind of stuff when you are sort of expecting it at an earlier time. Well... good for you for doing some work to help your family. You are a good mama. I hope you get to rest soon, though. I'm already feeling pretty tired and feel like this 9th month of pregnancy is going to kick my butt and I do not have two little ones already to take care of.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@coopsmama: FYI. I really love your profile picture. It is so adorable. Was that picture taken professionally or were you awesome enough to take that yourself?
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@agold: Well, that giant check will be fun! And yes, money is always tight it seems - almost doesn't even matter your pay check. It just gets eaten up somehow - especially as a home owner or as someone with kids! I swear we always manage to save up a good chunk and then something major happens and we're happy for the savings but it would be wonderful to have even extra to stash away each month!
I definitely don't have skills to take pictures like that. That's my daughter two years ago now. The photographer was a mutual friend of mine and she saw her picture online via Facebook and fell in love with her long wavy red hair that she was born with. She did a free newborn session and then also photographed my daughter for free at 10 months. It was super exciting because she is relatively well known in my area and I didn't have to pay a dime - she normally charges $400-500 for a newborn session! Unfortunately she just moved out of the area so I don't think free pictures are in the cards for this new baby!

@coopsmama: it's rough, dude. I'm right there with you. Working during the last few weeks of my first pregnancy was way easier than being home with my daughter is now!
I'm really uncomfortable at night. I feel like I can only sleep on one side for about an hour before I wake up in pain and have to try to roll over like a beached whale.
Here's hoping the end is near for both of us!
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
@Silva: And yes to that pain as well! Is the pain in your hips? I've had no pain at all in my back this pregnancy but the hip pain at night is crazy.
I've decided that tomorrow morning I'm taking the kids to the park fairly early just to wear them out (so that I have no clean up to do!) and Thursday will take them to an indoor bounce house to burn more energy. At the bounce house I can sit on a couch and enjoy a coffee or something while they play. I'm just going to be even more intentional about getting them out so I have to spend less time cleaning up (read: squatting down and crawling around to get everything cleaned up!). Hopefully all the movement I do during the day is getting something going on in there even if labor is weeks away!
