@pregnantbee: I thought of you today! So I bought a new bra yesterday at VS. I was wearing it today and it was so extremely uncomfortable. I don't know what the problem was. I think VS is pretty pricey, but I do recall seeing other super pricey bras at Bloomingdales. I don't know what to do. I was dying. So uncomfortable that I came home right after church and just laid on the couch. Please tell me where you get your comfy bras.

Hey! What is the "Aug 2016- Updates" page that is gold? Is there some other good conversation happening? I thought there was a gold bump page. But what is the gold update page?
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@agold: Oh, no! Hilarious how "thinking of me" was in the context of bras. I'm sorry you're just *that* uncomfortable. For what it's worth VS takes back anything, so don't be afraid to return it and try something else.
Mine are getting not so comfortable since I'm getting bigger...and the underwire hits the top of the ever-expanding bump. I currently wear Chantelle that I got at Nordstrom after a professional fitting. I keep thinking about breaking out my Bravado Body Silk Seamless nursing bras, but they really don't do much for my shape since there's no underwire. Ugh.
The Gold Updates thread is supposed to be a place where we can discuss more embarrassing topics if we don't want to without "gold." The gold pages can't be indexed by Google. Not much is going on in there.

@pregnantbee: I thought you would thinking it was funny that I thought of you! It was right in the middle of church. I thought, "Pregnant bee!!" Thanks for letting me know the brand you got. I honestly never buy new bras so this is going to be tough. I'm hesitant to spend too much for a new bra right now because I'm so curious how big my boobs will continue to get.
I think I gained 4 pounds just over night. My bump looks like its really starting to get out there. It's all fun and I'm so excited, but I'm really hoping that I'm not the type of girl who is an uncomfortable pregnant person.
And thanks for letting me know about the gold august updates. I can't even imagine what else is so embarrassing, and yet, I also totally can imagine. Yikes!

@agold: later on there will be plenty of cervix talk and bodily fluids and pains. Just a place to post a bit less publically.

PSA: Old Navy has 40 percent off online right now. I bought a couple tanks and a maternity dress. I also bought shorts from target with the side elastic (not full panel) and they are amazing! I want to wear them when not pregnant, too

@mossyslane: hi, welcome! I'm glad to see the July ladies here. I basically haven't taken those leggings off since I got them. looks like Ingrid and Isabel makes another version that's $50 instead of freaking $90; I'm going to try them.

@MrsSCB: I saw! I kinda wow I had gotten a sale price on a dress I already bought. Not sure if I did, since they have sales so often!

@MrsSCB: I picked up some neutral zipper sleepers from ON since they hardly ever go on sale as a Daily Steal!
We have the A/S on Friday and everyone keeps teasing us that the tech is going to reveal the sex on accident lol. Any previous team green ladies know how they maneuver team green territory during the scan? Do they just shut off the big screen during those checks? We decided that we would be disappointed if we accidentally see something but we won't be absolutely devastated lol.
Just excited to see the little bean again, I'm always slightly paranoid between these appointments because the movements are still minimal

@mrschickpea: we looked away until they could confirm nothing was exposed, then asked to let us know when they'd be sweeping over the genital area, so we could look away. In my experience, the docs who've done any of my ultrasounds have been very chatty about what they're doing and what's coming up next, so it was easy to avoid. But I have the same fear this time. It never occurred to me last time that our team green dreams could be spoiled!

@mrschickpea: I will let you know! Am just about to head into mine.

@mrschickpea: just remind them right away you don't want to know. They will have you look away. It's not a problem.

Anatomy scan went really well. Baby looks good, measuring a full week ahead with a hb of 138.
@mrschickpea: We just told her we didn't want to know and she did she stuff and we are still none the wiser

@LCTBQE: For the $50 ones, do you mean the crossover panel ones that Isabel & Ingrid make for Target or do you mean the seamless ones? The reviews of the Target ones look very good--people say that the main difference between the cheaper ones and the $90 ones is the material of the belly panel--that with the cheaper ones it is a bit more of a slippery fabric instead of being the same fabric as the leggings but that overall quality is consistent. ... I tried on the seamless ones though and they did not do one single thing for me--I need some seams!

@LCTBQE: @MrsSCB: I'm wearing an Ingrid and Isabel dress today (one of the body-con stretchy ruched ones) . . . I have to say it is really comfy! And you can't beat a great dress for hassle-free dressing (just one piece - easy peasy!).

My boss just committed to a project that will begin on July 25th - exactly 4 weeks before my due date. He said he anticipates that I won't be part of the team (except for doing all the prep work). Darn it. I should have taken the opp to discuss maternity leave but I totally balked.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@agold: Thats ok! At least you know he has the dates in his head.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Yes, he does have the dates, that's for sure. And if I'm stuck with going out on leave with simple disability payments, then that is actually okay since if my work isn't paying me, then I will do zero work. That would be 4 weeks before due date, and 6 weeks after, with a possible additional 6 weeks for paid family leave. I was hoping I could still negotiate to have my work pay for my health insurance. Or pay me one additional month but still let me have it off. Or work like a reduced schedule. I don't know. I will need to figure it out. But I think my husband and I can get by with the state disability/family leave payments. Phew. Lots to work out.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@mrschickpea: Grrr. HB ate my post, so I'm gonna try again. We went all the way through TG last time successfully. I'd start every appointment with, "Hi, my name is pregnantbee and we're not finding out the gender." This is even before they would speak. Ha! Then during the various scans they'd have us close our eyes or look away while they went after the "money" shot.

Ok, so what I thought was hip pain may actually be posterior pelvic pain. It's below my lower back, and it especially hurts (localized pain) when I am lying down flat on my back. Has anyone else had this? If so, what did you do about it? I'll be asking my OB at my next appointment next week. Ow, ow, ow.

@agold: You don't have STD at work? I haven't talked to my boss about specifics either, other than to expect me out as of 8/1.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@ShootingStar: I actually do pay into the state's short term disability. I also paid into an extra supplemental disability insurance plan (which looks like a pain in the ass to get going). So I will have disability payments coming in. I was just feeling a tad greedy and wondering if I could get more, like just 100% of my pay or something. And then also wondering (a) if my work will let me take the additional 6 weeks of paid family leave since my office has less than 50 employees and doesn't have to hold my job for me; and (b) what kind of pay/work terms can I negotiate for once the state disability payments run out. We can't survive on my just my husband's salary so I need a least a portion of mine at all times.
Yikes, this is all feeling so real - more real every day! I just scheduled my anatomy scan!!! March 31st!!
@pregnantbee: So sorry you are having crazy hip pain!! My right hip hurts pretty much any time I'm sitting for more than an hour. When I get up, it feels like its no longer attached to my body. Its painful and awkward feeling. Please tell me what your doctor says since you will see yours before I see mine.
coconut / 8472 posts
@agold: Wow, how much is the disability pay? I'm lucky that my company pays for our STD and the coverage is 100% for 6-8 weeks. I'll get the 8 weeks since I'll have a repeat C. And my company also just started offering 2 weeks of parental leave.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@ShootingStar: So August 1st is a good time to go out. Your due date is close to mine. How early did you go out before having your first? What do you do with that early time you take off?
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@ShootingStar: Thats great! We didn't do STD because we had to pay for it and it wasn't great coverage that was offered. We are protected for 6 months but have to use our PTO to cover pay or do leave without pay. Luckily DH can use some of his time as well and maybe have my mom help for a week or so. Our goal is to get through the new year before sending baby to daycare.
@agold: I'm thinking I will go out for sure the 15th. Unless baby has plans before then.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@ShootingStar: So I'm just looking into California disability payments. @MrsBeluga: was really helpful to me. The state pays something like 55% for 4 weeks prior and then 6 weeks after due date for short term disability. This is something that I pay into out every paycheck as required by the state. Then there is an additional 6 weeks offered at the same 55% benefit for paid family leave. I was looking into this recently because I needed to figure out what to do with my tax return - i.e., did I need to save it to help with the mortgage while I'm on leave. (Hi, we aren't good savers at my house.)
coconut / 8472 posts
@agold: So the last time I got really sick at the end and was being monitored every couple days for pre-e. I think that started around 37w? I then had a week of bed rest before DS was induced.
Oh, and I meant to mention that I hear you on not getting by on one salary. We live an expensive life!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@agold: Yea not much before. I figure if we haven't had the baby by that point I will be pretty miserable to be in the office. Both my other two were induced so I'm not expecting this one to come too early.
grapefruit / 4045 posts
@ShootingStar: I hear you on the expensive life. We have a very reasonable small home. But that's where the reasonableness ends. Dumping money into student loans, "safe" cars that cost too much, husband golfs and I like him to because it makes me happy which makes me happy, and poof, waiting for next pay check. We seriously need to reevaluate where the money goes. But $27K into IF/IVF certainly explains our predicament this past year.
Just used tax returns to pay off most of what was remaining of that. Nice, but I would have liked a vacation or something fun. Oh yea, the baby in my belly is fun.
