    @coleycam: what a great update!

    @peachykeen: yay for a girl!

@Torchwood: it's worth the cost. And if your doctor says you need it due to history, it should be covered.

11 weeks today! Still waiting to get my energy back and not feel like dirt each evening.

@Mrs. Microscope: I definitely think it's worth it. And I don't know if they'll be able to make a case with insurance. Technically as far as we know our issues with R weren't genetic (there were screw ups with getting samples from the remains before cremation so we weren't able to do any testing), and DH and I have been tested and don't have any issues. Last time since they had the deal she didn't fight it, but she didn't think it would have worked anyway. Insurance is crap. DH is just stressed because we're about to do a ton of work on the house (they're here replacing the gutters right now!), so he doesn't want to spend the money. But we could afford it more than likely without even touching savings, so I'm not skipping it unless it's just way crazier expensive than I've been led to believe.

Had an ultrasound today & everything looked good. We aren't doing the extra testing, but all ultrasounds for my practice are at MFM & doctor said all looked good. I'm measuring 4 days ahead but they're not changing my due date as of now. She also guessed boy! Based on symptoms though I really feel like it's a girl and heartbeat was 168. We are going to do an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks for gender. They also scheduled my anatomy scan for April 12 (22 weeks). All feeling real now! Going to start sharing with people, but not announce on social media quite yet.

@Torchwood: My tech at the 1st tri screening totally thinks baby is a girl. I was thinking it would be crazy if we all had girls.

@MommySLP: Yay for the u/s!! Did the tech guess boy based on a peek at the genitals or from the nub theory?

  5. MommySLP

    apricot / 431 posts

@littlejoy: she got a perfect shot of between the legs & said "it looks more boy than girl." But she also said girls are still swollen at this point so hard to tell. I already have one of each so we will see!

@MommySLP: I'm so excited to see what your 22 week scan says!! I saw this illustration (or photo??) a few weeks ago, and had no idea how similar things look until 15ish weeks.

I told DH I finally felt like having a coffee this morning, and he was like, "Is that safe!?!?" ... bless him.

@littlejoy: ha! I feel in my gut it's a girl but what do I know!

  11. peachykeen

@MommySLP: That's awesome you already have your anatomy scan scheduled - can't believe we'll be at that point soon!

@littlejoy: I have had a couple iced coffees the past 2 weeks - it really depends on the day whether I think I can handle it or not. Every time I smell coffee lately though it smells sooo good so I may have to start giving in more I'm definitely okay with the 200mg number (I don't monitor THAT closely though, since a lot of studies say 300mg is okay too) and just order any Starbucks drinks 1/2 caff

  12. littlejoy

    pomegranate / 3375 posts

@peachykeen: Same here!! And it's rare that I have coffee even 2-3 times a week.

Funny enough, my MIL sent some weird texts about how many ultrasounds I am planning to have (3), and she was questioning if it was safe. My husband asked her how many packs of cigarettes she smoked a day when she was pregnant with him.

@peachykeen: @littlejoy: my coffee aversion finally passed - i am having a cup a day and it makes a huge difference!

Not so great was today was my third migraine in 3 weeks - i hope they phase out soon.

@Revel: Oh man! I'm so sorry!!! Does anything help?

  15. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

    @littlejoy: Nice comeback. 😆

Blood draw for nipt is done! Looks like the company will talk to insurance and it'll either be $350 for us if nothing is covered, or whatever it costs us will go towards our max out of pocket (which we'd hit anyway with the birth) so essentially it's not costing us anything extra in that case. And we can choose the $350 if for some reason DH would rather spend less now even though it'd be more in the long run.

@Torchwood: That's awesome news about the NIPT coverage! Glad you have one less thing to worry about.

    @Torchwood: yay! Good news!

Anyone else have the nose of a bloodhound? I can smell everything a mile away, and most of it is STANK! Like, I want to deep clean the fridge, bleach the cat box and diaper genie, and pour bleach down the drains because I swear I can smell the sewer through them!

  18. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Mrs. Microscope: My nose seems super sensitive lately, but a lot of times DH says he doesn't smell anything at all so it makes me question whether I'm sensitive or crazy! 😄

  19. Revel

    pear / 1563 posts

@littlejoy: caffeine and sugar, kind of? When I feel one coming I get a soda or a tea with sugar and take tylenol. The worst is that I get aura and light sensitivity can't really work. Hoping this is just a phase of pregnancy the way it was last time and doesn't last much longer.

  20. Mrs. Pickle

@littlejoy: I'm still having an aversion to coffee. Or more an aversion to the super sweet lattes and fraps I usually drink. Sweet tea is the best thing ever to me right now. I've had a couple cappuccinos over the past few days and they have been good too.

@Mrs. Microscope: I'm not having any trouble with smells right now thankfully. It was rough in the early weeks.

Now I know why so many people say second + pregnancies hurt more. I'm experiencing round ligament pain for the first time and it sucks sooo bad. I also had a crazy dream last night where my 15 month old became a vampire. It seemed so real. Yay pregnancy!

hey ladies, what genetic tests are you all planning on having done?

  22. Mrs. Pickle

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts

@phillydoglover: I had the NIPT test done on Friday an am waiting on the results. My DH has a translocation so the baby is higher risk for a couple of trisomies.

  23. Mrs. Microscope

    pear / 1788 posts

@phillydoglover: my doctor does Verifi. I think most offices have a contract with one, so that's what you get. They are all pretty similar.

  24. phillydoglover

    pea / 8 posts

@Mrs. Pickle: I have a translocation as well, we did ivf with pgd but still thinking we are doing to do the nuchal next week, and I did the cell free dna yesterday.

  25. phillydoglover

    pea / 8 posts

@Mrs. Microscope: oh whats verifi I don't think I have heard of it

  26. Mrs. Pickle

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts

@phillydoglover: I'll be getting a NT scan in a couple weeks as well. I was pretty surprised my OB suggested both, but am happy to do it and have a complete picture.

  27. Mrs. Microscope

    pear / 1788 posts

@phillydoglover: I'm also getting the NT scan. Verifi is the the brand name of the cell free dna test my OB uses. Other ones include Materniti21, Panorama, and others. Again, they are all similar, it depends on your OB office and their contract.

First baby I also had genetic tests for carrier status on cystic fibrosis, tay sachs and several other Jewish genetic diseases, because of heritage. I was negative for all of them, so no need to retest this time.

  28. Revel

    pear / 1563 posts

@phillydoglover: we did NIPT (informaseq through labcorp). Waiting on results. One thing is you don't get an US with this test, or any NIPT as far as I know unless your doc ordered it, and it's not a component of the blood work, so it doesn't provide any info on neural tube defects. I'm a little bummed about that bc I'd hate to find something at my 20 weeks scan, but it seems like NIPT is standard now for most?

I was also screened for cycstic fibrosis with my last pregnancy, not a carrier so they don't repeat that test. I believe if you come up positive they test your partner, then not sure what happens if they are a carrier as well.

  29. peachykeen

    pear / 1648 posts

@phillydoglover: @Revel: We didn't do any testing with my last pregnancy but did NIPT (my office uses the Harmony test) and my doctor mentioned the neural tube blood test at 16 weeks. As long as insurance covers it, I guess we'll do that one too.

I found this list helpful in understanding the various test options: http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/most-common-screening-and-diagnostic-tests-during-pregnancy

  30. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

We did some kind of NIPT, but I honestly didn't even ask which one because I think they are pretty similar and this was the only one my OB's office does. We are still (anxiously) awaiting results. We should hear a week from now at the latest, so fingers crossed about that.

It's been a rough couple weeks here for a lot of non-pregnancy related reasons (sick kid, family in hospital, super busy time at both of my jobs), so . . . I need something fun and happy to distract me. In the spirit of that, what if we all do a little update on fun baby stuff (This is just some random things I can think of, so add anything you think would be fun to share:

    How far along?
    Gender guess?
    Ideas for names?
Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures?
What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had?
Does your LO(s) know? How did they react?
How will you announce on social media if you will announce?
    Any funny comments?

Gender guess? No clue. In the very beginning I kinda felt girl, but I am not positive.

Ideas for names? I have a list left over from last time. I'll have to decide if I want to adjust it.

Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures? No, not really. We only have our bedroom and one other (which is DS's), so they'll be sharing

What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had? I'll probably pull out what I had for the first time around.

Does your LO(s) know? How did they react? Told him yesterday! He's happy & wants a boy. At first he was saying a pretend baby, but I think he's getting it's going to be real.

How will you announce on social media if you will announce? I will post a picture and a post on Valentine's Day.

Any funny comments? That I've received? Just DS asking if it's going to be a pretend baby, and that when I told him my belly would get big, he said me and him were going to eat the whole room.

Gender guess? DH and I are both quietly hoping for a girl, and DH thinks it is a girl. I'm saying it's probably a boy because that's just what we make! It will be fine either way, but gah, the little girl stuff is so cute!

Ideas for names? Nothing concrete. We never seem to agree until the kid is here. For a boy, our favorite for now is Rowan. For a girl, we're not really clear. We liked Quinn, but it's a lot more popular than we realized. I really want Rose or some form of Rose (Rosalie/Rosemary) to be in the first or middle name.

Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures? I love looking at cute nurseries, but I'm the worst at actually doing them. So, yeah, I'm not even pretending that is going to happen.

What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had? We were so glad to get E & F out of the NICU, they just came home in little gowns they had on that day. I loved G's coming home outfit, but it was January and definitely not something I could use this time.

Does your LO(s) know? How did they react? I'm ready for them to know, but we are waiting on the gender since it should be soon anyway.

How will you announce on social media if you will announce? We did little announcement pics with the others, but I have no ideas this time and I'm not even sure we will announce on social media this time. The first time we used the picture here. The second time we had pics of the twins in t-shirts that said announced the news.

Any funny comments? F had his head on my tummy this weekend and said, "Is there a baby in there?" I said, "I don't know. Maybe. What do you think?" He said, "I think you're just my beautiful, fluffy little mama!" ummmm...thanks, kid.

    Gender guess?
-I really feel like it's a girl. I had no intuition last time so I'm curious to see if I'm right! I should know within a week.
    Ideas for names?
-I really want Caroline if it's a girl. DH isn't sold though. Eli was our boy name last time. I don't know if it's first choice this time though.
Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures?
-probably. Idk. I have no energy to think about this already! 😂
What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had?
-It will be white and monogrammed. Likely a cotton one piece of some sort. DD came home in a monogrammed white dress but I prefer bubbles.
Does your LO(s) know? How did they react?
-We talk about the baby but DD is only 15 months old so she doesn't know what it means.
How will you announce on social media if you will announce?
-I'll post a picture of DD wearing her big sister shirt along with a photo of a "little sister/brother" onesie.
    Any funny comments?
-none yet. Not many people know and I don't really look pregnant yet. Except at the end of the day.

How far along? 12 weeks today!
Gender guess? I've been thinking girl but yesterday at my ultrasound the tech guessed boy, so now I don't know!
Ideas for names? Our boy name is Henry; girl name is totally up in the air. I like Charlotte, Clara & Molly.
Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures? Baby will share with one of the older 2.
What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had? I'll buy something just for this baby--my other two were winter babies so this will be different!
Does your LO(s) know? How did they react? They are both thrilled. DD (5) wants to talk about it constantly.
How will you announce on social media if you will announce? We'll announce around 14/15 weeks prob--still thinking about how.
Any funny comments? Not funny, but now that we've been telling people, I keep getting the "was it planned" question. Not from family, but mostly from people at work that don't know we've planned on 3-4 kids. I'm sure it's pregnancy hormones, but it kinda irritates me!

  39. Torchwood

Gender guess? I'm leaning towards boy, DH swears girl. We find out in about a week!!

Ideas for names? I like Apollo (nn Leo) for a boy (middle name is definitely Ray for family reasons, but DH isn't feeling it. And I love Lyra, but he's not sure. Hasn't vetoed it though. Middle name will probably be Roslyn.

Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures? Kind of? Right now LO doesn't have her own room, just a playroom (we cosleep). But we're about to do a bunch of work on the house and when it's finished we'll switch things back around so what used to be her nursery will be the playroom/where the kids clothes will be and when we do I'm redecorating. It was originally forest critter themed, now I'm doing grey walls with rainbow colors. Kind of like picture below but much lighter grey. I have the decorations from her "sunshine and pinwheels" birthday up in the playroom now, and they'll be used too.

What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had? LO wore a onesie that said "after every storm comes a rainbow- here I am!" Since she was early I hadn't actually planned a going home outfit yet, but it was one we had and it was perfect. I have given zero thought to this one.

Does your LO(s) know? How did they react? We've told her, but she has no idea.

How will you announce on social media if you will announce? I'm going to take a picture of LO in a "big sister" shirt with her "I'm a big sister" book next to a "baby brother/sister" onesie and caption it "Lily is getting excited!" See how long it takes people to read what's in the picture and get it. 😄

Gender guess? My gut says girl, DH says girl, but I am trying to convince myself it's a boy so I have less gender disappointment.

Ideas for names? We gave 2 for each gender, but we wait until the baby arrives and see which one fits.

Are you decorating a nursery? If so, ideas/pictures? Nope. We didn't last time either. Maybe when we move I'll decorate the kids rooms.

What kind of coming home outfit do you picture/or what did you use with the LO you already had? If it's a girl, the same little sleeper DD wore. If a boy, a more boy themed sleeper.

Does your LO(s) know? How did they react? We tell her, but she has no clue. She's 18 months.

How will you announce on social media if you will announce? Probably around 20 weeks, doing an expanded version of the photo we did last time. It used our suitcases and an infant bucket to announce our little traveler.

Any funny comments? Is it august yet?! I'm so ready to be done!
