First child? Yep!
Any symptoms? Sore boobs, sensitive nipples, lower backache, and I feel like I'm more sensitive to smells.
Who have you told? My husband and my dad. I work with my dad and he was randomly asking about us starting a family and kept going on and on and I couldn't keep it in any longer, so I just blurted out "I'm pregnant!" It was pretty cool, I caught him way off guard. I will probably tell my mom tonight and my in-laws as well.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Today I'm going in for my second blood draw so I'm just hoping that my numbers go up!!

Cautiously joining...
Location: Atlanta suburbs
EDD: 8/9 going by ovulation, but probably 8/11 by LMP
First child? Second
Any symptoms? Sensitivity to smells and food aversions, cramping & upset stomach yesterday, and I'm hoping last night/this morning's nausea isn't the start of morning sickness... I'm not even 4 weeks yet
Who have you told? Only DH... last pregnancy ended in miscarriage in October, so we're cautious but hopeful
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Scheduled my first OB appointment for 5 weeks, hoping to schedule dating US for 7 weeks for some reassurance, but that's the week of Christmas so we will see

EDD: August 11
First child? Second
Any symptoms? Nausea, slightly heightened sense of smell, weepy and way decreased appetite
Who have you told? My husband- who was of course out of town for the week which made that trickier, my best friend and my husband's co-worker/friend (well, he told him, not me)
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage so that it weighing on me, this feels like the first step but like we still have more tests to pass if that makes sense. I'm really excited though-last time I was super anxious about getting hyperemesis again and about rocking the boat with my daughter. This time i feel ready to take those things on and like it will be fine either way.
I made an appointment for 6+3 and we'll have an ultrasound that day. I really wanted one before Christmas since we will be traveling and if I'm sick like last time it will be impossible to keep a secret.

@Cole: How old is your daughter? DD is 2 (my first August baby) and will likely turn 3 shortly after this baby is born. We're not going to tell her until we're sure everything is okay (we never did tell her about the pregnancy we lost, just that "mommy's tummy is hurting") and maybe until we're ready to tell everyone else, haha

First child? Yes!
Any symptoms? Mild to severe cramping, moderately sore boobs, very sensitive nipples, hungry growling stomach constantly!
Who have you told? Just DH knows right now. Last month I had a BFP for two days and then got my period, so we're feeling a little on edge. Planning to tell his parent's tomorrow night, some close friends, and my parents this weekend.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Can't wait for the results of my blood test to see if everything is as it should be. I really want a good result, or a really dark line on my pee sticks to reassure me! Does anyone know when I could get a dark result on an FRER? Would a light line on a wondfo be darker on an FRER? I'm 14DPO today.
pear / 1648 posts
@Mrs. Blush: I took both a Wondfo and a FRER yesterday and Wondfo was darker but the FRER was definitely more reassuring. Your Wondfos look different than mine, though (mine are pink). My blue-handled tests in the past have always been lighter. I'd try an FRER - it made me feel better for sure!

Eeek, I can't believe there's an August board already! Congrats from an Aug. 2016er. So happy for you guys, it's a great month

@peachykeen: Ok I think I'll take an FRER tomorrow morning with SMU - that seems to be when I'm getting the darkest lines.

@Mrs. Blush: I was debating when to take a digital the other day and found this http://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/pregnancy-tests-urine-sample.php
I'd always gotten better results in the afternoon, so it's good to know I'm not crazy!

I have my 2nd beta tomorrow, then I'll be more optimistic about joining. But for now I have a healthy pregnancy!
Location: west coast
EDD: 8/7
First child? 2nd
Any symptoms? super sore nipples, feeling tired, mild cravings (give me all the salt), lower back pain, very mild cramping and bloating.
Who have you told? My partner, our 2 year old who has already forgotten, and a couple of friends.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? I've miscarried before, so I'm doing the same ol' thing where I'm afraid I'll see blood every time I go to the bathroom. I'm analyzing every twinge. I thought I'd be more relaxed or distracted this time. I'll feel better once we get the result from the betas. I'm working on scheduling my dating scan the week after Christmas.

@Mrs. Blush: I've always had much better luck with lines on FRER. Wondfos always suck for me. Excited for you!

Just caved and took one of my last two FRERs.... worth it! Feeling much better.

@Mrs. Blush: awesome!!!!!!! Congrats again, Blush!
I told my parents today!!! I just went over to their house to talk. They were so excited. It was such a special afternoon!

@mrsd2442: awwww awesome! Can't wait to tell my parents too. Kind of nervous actually!

@Mrs. Blush: beautiful line! They definitely pop more on those.
@MrsD2442: that's exciting, they must be thrilled! Is it the first grandchild?
@peachykeen: my daughter is just behind yours with an August birthday. I actually wound up taking her about my miscarriage because I couldn't figure out what else to do since I kept randomly crying and she was thinking it was because of her. I am pretty sure she thought I was crying about a baby doll but it was better than her thinking it was because of her. I'm not sure when I'll tell her about this pregnancy but my best friend is expecting and our kids are together all the time so I think she just kind of sees it as normal? I kind of mentioned it yesterday but she misunderstood and told me she was too big to fit in my belly now.

Congrats to all the Aug 2017 mamas from this late July 2016 mama. I was on the Aug 2016 board.

@Mrs. Blush: I was so nervous too. In fact, as I was pulling in the driveway I started shaking a little. But they're thrilled! I'm so excited to have their support.
@Cole: yep! First grandchild, so that's super exciting.
Update on my blood draw!!! Got my levels back from yesterday's test! 204!!!!! Up from 57 on Monday. So so so happy. Getting another blood draw tomorrow.

Bloodwork back and hCG at 94 at 3wks 6 days. Woohoo!
@mrsd2442: Have you just been asking to go back again for more blood draws? I got my bloodwork done with my primary care provider and they just called with the results, but didn't mention a follow up... My first OB appointment isn't until 12/23.
cherry / 111 posts
@Mrs. Blush: I'm seeing an RE, so maybe that's why they wanted a series of 3 blood draws. I think that's their general protocol. I'm sure you could ask for a second blood draw, see what they say.
grapefruit / 4649 posts
@Mrs. Blush: I don't think betas are standard at most practices but everyone I know who has had them done has them done in a series of 2-3 so they can see doubling time. If you're not concerned though it isn't really necessary from a medical perspective. Personally, I'm going with peeing on all the sticks and over analyzing the line darkness like a crazy person .

Hi ladies, I'm so excited to join this board. My BFF is on Hellobee, and I got to see her in person to tell her the news this morning ... now I can share here!
Location: Portland, OR
EDD: Early August - my cycles have been really weird lately, so I think it's around August 8th, but I'll have a better idea after my dating scan later this month.
First child? We have a nearly 3 year old at home.
Any symptoms? I'm so, so tired, and having some mental fog. Sore nipples, my back hurts, and I've had a little nausea.
Who have you told? Husband, our LO, and @youboots: We'll be telling a few friends this weekend, as well as our families via Skype.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Meh, just the normal early pregnancy fears. My 1st pregnancy was a chemical, so that really messes with you. Otherwise, we're really, really excited (I received great HCG beta results this morning).

@Cole: Thank you! I know it's just a snapshot, but seeing those numbers rise made me feel a lot better.

@littlejoy: nice to "meet" you!
@mrsd2442 @cole: I am going to schedule another blood test for this week just so I will feel better! In the meantime I too am peeing on all the sticks! Got a really quick forming dark line on one of my cheapies this morning
Also, we told our parents! Neither set was as surprised as I thought! Apparently I am much more transparent than I think We also told a couple of close friends which was also really exciting!
cherry / 111 posts
@Mrs. Blush: I'm glad you're going in for more blood tests to ease your mind! And I'm so so happy that telling your parents went well! We also told some close friends yesterday and we are going to lunch with DHs family to announce to everyone! I am still waking up every day thinking to myself 'I can't believe this is real!'

@littlejoy: congrats & welcome!
We're planning to wait until Christmas or later to tell family. I have my first appointment this coming Friday - hoping to schedule our dating ultrasound for 12/23 so I can celebrate the holidays without as much worry (we lost our last pregnancy at 7.5 weeks and the 23rd will be 7 weeks exactly). I do feel a little more confident about this pregnancy, but I'll feel better once I see a heartbeat!
pomegranate / 3375 posts
@peachykeen: I was debating about getting our u/s before or after Christmas ... I was leaning towards "before" too. Wishing you the best for a strong heartbeat!

Congrats from an August '16 Mama! I can't believe it's been a year since my BFP!
kiwi / 624 posts
EDD: August 3rd, but should have that confirmed with an ultrasound Friday.
First child? No, second.
Any symptoms? No and it makes me feel weird, like I'm not pregnant even though I have peed on a lot of stuff and had a couple of betas now... I think I didn't get any symptoms until 6 weeks last time so maybe in a few days it will hit me.
Who have you told? Hubby, sister, my mama.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Pregnancy makes me anxious. I would like to be excited and optimistic, but don't feel too comfy until 20 weeks/ feeling movement so there's a long while to wait for that!
pear / 1648 posts
@Petitduck: Welcome and congrats! I have very few symptoms as well. Mainly random cramping and smell aversions. I know in a few weeks we'll probably regret not enjoying the easy days...

@Petitduck: Welcome, congratulations!
Who is thinking about telling at Christmas or other family gatherings soon? I'll only be 7 weeks so I'd really rather not but it's the only time we will see our parents and siblings until late spring otherwise. With my daughter morning sickness came on strong starting right at 6 weeks so I'm guessing it will be hard to hide too. I do have an ultrasound scheduled for before we leave at 6+3 so hopefully we'll see the heartbeat and things will look good. Any suggestions on how to tell?
pear / 1648 posts
@Cole: I'm hoping to share with immediate family around New Years (about 8 weeks) assuming dating ultrasound goes well. We're not actually seeing our family until after Christmas, so I figured we'd wrap up the ultrasound pic for the family members we see in person (my sister and in-laws) and either email or mail to the ones we won't (my dad and younger brother).
