@Adira: that makes sense. There's only one other person I share with so it isn't that hard to manage schedules. And actually somewhat amusingly, she was hired when I was on maternity leave, so I didn't realize at first I'd need to share. This is actually the first time in the 7 years I've been here more than one person is pumping at once.

I think I bore myself from talking about K's sleep lol. I need to take a pic of her in the merlin suit tho.. She is like this marshmallow, it's so funny!
Annnd I ordered her 4 headbands & 8 bandana bibs yesterday.. Meanwhile I have yet to find a nursing friendly dress that I need for a wedding... I have a feeling I will never shop for myself again!

Ugh I jinxed myself.. Random mtg starting right now and I pump at 12:30.... I Don't think ppl would want to hear the motor sound tho or else I don't mind pumping during the mtg lol

@BandDmommy: So adorable!!! Where did you get Darcys big bow headbands? I love those!! She always has a cute headband on!
@snowjewelz: YES! my kids always look great, with new matching outfits and I am a hot mess!! I never shop for myself!
Guys- I tried the wommbie I had from LO#1 last night on Emily and she slept from 11pm to 7 am!!!! She whined a bit around 3:30 (I was up pumping) but I popped her binkie in and she went back to sleep!

@snowjewelz: How long is the meeting? Can you pump after? I've declined meetings that have been during my pump time if I can't do it before/after for some reason.

@Adira: super excited- I feel pretty good today! (and I have BOTH kids at work with me!!)
I need a new diaper bag- mine bit the dust on Monday when the strap broke- any recommendations? (I started a thread but there has only been 2 responses)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: I have no diaper bag advice. I like mine in general, but feel like it's kind of small for two kids...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: yeah I'm pumping now, one hour late.. I will still pump at 3:30 next tho cuz I need milk to feed her when I'm home.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@cheert16: I have the skip hop duo.. I'm a FTM so I don't really know any better! It's cute and it works, but with 2 kids I don't know if it's big enough as I already stuff it with so much stuff!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: At least it was only an hour. We have staff meetings once a month and they are at noon, which is when I usually pump, so I just pump at 1:00 and then my normal time in the afternoon.

@BandDmommy: Aww, love the pics! You have the cutest outfits!
Last night I laid Ethan in this R&P around 8, sleepy but awake while we ate dinner (late). He whined a bit and when I went in after gave me the biggest smile ever, like 'mom, you can NOT leave this face'. As soon as I left again he'd cry, open the door, quiet, repeat, it was cute, lol. He's such a fake cryer that I think it won't be too hard to sleep train, but couldn't bring myself to do it last night since he had a 'tough' day with shots. I don't get him all day so I want as much cuddles at night as possible.
Mom = sucker.

@josina: Logan's been doing the exact same thing to me the past couple nights. I know he SHOULD be tired, but when I leave the room after putting him down, he cries. I come back in, HUGE smile. I finally gave up and just brought him out in the living room and put him on his activity mat while I had dinner. He just cooed a bunch, haha.

@cheert16: I got the jujube right backpack once we had 2. The pattern is a little flashy for me but it's very useful. Almost got a boken bag but wanted something with more structure.

@josina: @Adira: now I feel bad! J does the same thing and I let him squawk (cry, basically) for a few minutes and he falls asleep. Mean mommy here!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: Oh, if Logan only did it for a few minutes, I'd totally just ignore him until he fell asleep. Unfortunately, he seems more stubborn than me and cries for longer than that!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MrsF: You're doing good if he falls asleep! I really think Ethan is so spoiled at this point not sure if he will on his own. DH said he usually falls asleep on him during the day or in the swing. I'll have to ask daycare what they do. Not making good habits here but oh well!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: yeah. I always think J's not going to stop and then he does. It's so hard to hear him cry but if I know he's exhausted I feel like I don't have a choice!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: I think the other thing with Logan is sometimes I'm just not sure if he's tired or not, so when he's all smiley when I go in there, I'm like "I guess you're not tired" and get him up. Since he's not cranky or fussy hanging out on his activity mat, I just assume he must not have been tired. Once he starts getting fussy while awake though, I know it's really time for bed!

@josina: it is sooo hard...G is napping on me currently mainly because I just want to snuggle

@FaithFertility: Awww. I can waste hours of get-stuff-done time just because he's too cute to put down!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Gahhh, I am sooooo not cut out for solo parenting! My husband had to work late and this evening was a NIGHTMARE. It started off okay, but then Logan was hungry and then tired and then REFUSED TO FALL ASLEEP and then was fussy and then I tried nursing him again, but put him down and immediately awake and crying and then Xander's tired and wants to go to bed and Logan is crying and I want to tear my eyeballs out! Finally decide to bring Logan upstairs and put him in his room in his crib even though he's never slept there so that I could at least keep going back to him while getting Xander ready to bed. Well... miracle of miracles, Logan falls asleep in there. But by this time, Xander's past his bedtime and overtired. I finally get him in his crib, but he wants to play the "light on, light off, light on, light off" game and I'm not in the mood, so the light goes off and he just cries and cries and cries. I go start dinner because I'm STARVING and Hubs should be home eventually, RIGHT?? And Xander's just sobbing hysterically. So I finally go back in there and talk him down and soothe him and he's FINALLY willing to actually sleep. And now I'm exhausted. And hungry. And scared the baby is going to wake up at any second (or more likely right when I'm about to eat). Someone tell my husband to never work late again.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: Ugh - I can picture every minute of your evening. It's SO hard to do the bedtime routine by yourself. Almost every time I have them both, J literally screams through the whole time that I'm trying to read M's book and sing her songs. She just looks at me like "this is crazy, mom". The good news is that it really does get easier with time as you figure out the little tricks for scenarios that you don't have to worry about when there are two adults.
Now put your feet up and have an adult beverage. You deserve it!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: I don't wish this on anyone, but it does help knowing other people struggle handling two at times too. And good call about the adult beverage! I hope I have some wine...
just kidding - Logan's waking up... and dinner isn't even done yet.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@Adira: ugh I'm so sorry my husband frequently works late; I can't imagine doing bedtime with two little ones and just me! Hope you get some dinner (and wine!!).
So h just nursed basically from 7-8. Growth spurt??
