@snowjewelz: somebody walked in on me the other day (I use someone else's office and there's no lock). I had my back to the door thiugh and a cover on. Still - awkward!
@winniebee: that's a long time to have your DH gone! Great that you can go to your parents' though. Give the baby to your mom in the AM and catch up on your sleep for sure!
@Adira: J's done some long awake stretches lately too! I think he's working on some developmental stuff.
@snowjewelz: I pump on both of my commutes. I don't think it distracts me, but I can see how others wouldn't get it
Glad K had a good night!

K is 4 months today and has her well visit and shots this afternoon. I'm anxious to see what the doctor has to say about her growth and development.

@MrsF: Man or woman? I've had both.. I think it took the man 30 sec to realized what was going on!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: 4 months already! I hope she has a good visits! 4 months I think are another 2 shots? I hope she will be okay! I'm always, always so nervous about her growth! That's why I keep feeding MOTN anyway! I always feel like she can eat more lol!

@mamag: good luck at the doc's!
@winniebee: i think i'd pump right before i go to bed (10ish?) and have your mom do the MOTN feed. i wouldn't pump MOTN, just keep sleeping. but that's because i'm sure that i would not be able to sleep in as long as i would hope, so sleeping all night would give me better sleep. i also routinely pump off-cycle (e.g., i pump right after E eats on fridays, then go ski, then either feed/pump when i get home 7 hours later), and it hasn't affected my supply at all.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: I love that you pump, and then go ski, lol, it's so normal for you! I love seeing your ski pics on IG!

Thanks ladies. I know her growth is slower than her big sister, but her big sister wasn't normal ;). She still hasn't doubled her birth weight but is getting close. On the flip side, she's developmentally ahead of her big sister.

@snowjewelz: I say nurse her I LOVE nursing G and feel that soon these times will be over!!!!!!!!

@winniebee: I would choose sleeping in Sorry DH is gone for so long!

@FaithFertility: I can't believe believe I've actually nursed her for almost 4 months... I remember those first weeks it was so difficult I could barely imagine getting through the day!

@winniebee: jeolous of the good sleep you're getting but def. Happy for you!
@MamaG: 4 month check up for E today too. Not looking forward to shots.
Our sleep is sucking lately, couldn't get him down till 10 last night (had him down at 8:30 but then he sneezed and woke himself up) and then up at 12:30, 2, 4 and 5.
He Definetly i s hungrier lately so thinking growth spurt, but the worst is that my supply is down! Normally I pump 5 oz at my 9:30 time, yesterday I got 4 and today only 3! What is up with that? Suggestions?

@snowjewelz: funny story: last wednesday we had a brother and sister come to youth for the first time. It was their first experience outside of catholicism so we were making sure they felt comfortable. They showed interest in wanting to come back on sunday. The sister would be in the sunday school class that my husband and I teach so I went ahead and walked her to the classroom so that she would know where it was at on sunday. WELL on friday we had a discipleship program held in the family life center at church and Micah was hungry so I went up to our sunday school classroom to feed him. He needed his diaper changed so I am bent over changing his diaper with both of my breasts exposed when I hear the door open... the new kids wanted to come to the discipleship program and since I had shown the sister how to get to our sunday school class she assumed it was held in there... SOOOOO AWKWARD. hahahaha

Hmmm... someone was using my Mother's Room when I went there to pump. I had to wait for her to leave and she told me that normally she uses the other room. I checked the schedule and she's not even on there, so now I don't know when her next pump session is. I hope it doesn't conflict with mine since she'll be using my room for the rest of the day presumably (all her stuff is in there).
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: What was the rest of the day like for you, pumping wise? Do you think because E is going through a growth spurt and eating more, you may have been more drained than normal for your 9:30 pump and that's why you've been getting less?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: I figured that's why I got less at my 7 am pump, but usually by 9 I have at least 5 ounces, less at 12:30 (4.5) and back up at 3:30. Yesterday I was an ounce and a half short, so averaged 1/2 oz less each pump. Hopefully it's a fluke and not a downhill spiral. Pumping now..
@whenoceansrise: Yikes! What did you do? I would be so embarrassed.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: Ohh, I see - I didn't realized you pumped once before 9:30. Hmm... have you been drinking enough water? I know when I don't get enough fluids, my supply seems less than normal. Or do you think you could be getting sick or about to have AF?

@snowjewelz: that's great!! My ped thinks I'm over feeding him and wants me space out feedings further apart. He weighs just over 18lbs and he isn't even 4 months yet.
I had a consult with my ped bc I noticed head turning preference and stiffness in his neck. DH thought it was me overreacting but I was right- it is torticollis. His neck muscles on one side is weaker than the other, most likely due to positioning during pregnancy. He gave me some exercises to do, and will see me in about 3 weeks. I'm glad I went!

@MamaG: good luck!!@josina: I'm sorry sleep has been so sucky. I know what you're going through!

@josina: I just told them the meeting was downstairs and just laughed after they left. I felt bad for them because I know they were embarassed!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@josina: we have had really crummy sleep here too. Up every 2 hr 45 mins last night, except for the last stretch which was just over 3 hrs. The worst part was that he was somewhat fussy, too. So I basically didn't sleep from 11:45 pm to 4:30 am because I was either feeding him, picking him up so he would stop fussing, or just waiting/dreading having him wake up again/thinking to myself what the eff I am doing wrong in the sleep department. I am just beyond exhausted. We haven't gotten any stretches over 6 hrs (and very very few over 4.5-5). UGH.
Not sure about your supply, but I'm hoping it's just because he drained you last night with a growth spurt!
@whenoceansrise: Omg I would have died!!

@Freckles: He is a big boy! But I didn't think you could really overfeed them by nursing??
honeydew / 7444 posts
@Adira: I offer him the boob and he takes it. But he spits up a ton an hour after when we do tummy time (more than 1 tbsp). He thinks I can push it to 3.5-4 hour intervals.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Freckles: Crazy! Xander didn't go 4 hours between feeds until he was eating 3 solid meals a day. BUT he was also a peanut and didn't gain weight very fast, so I really have no experience with what you're dealing with with your LO. I guess it doesn't hurt to try pushing out the feedings. You'll have to let us know how it goes.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: I got 3.5 at 11:30, which is sooner than I would normally pump since I'm off early, so that's a little better at least. I usually drink a lot of water, and AF was last week so not that. I guess I'll see how I do tomorrow!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@theotherstark: Ethan has been fussy too, but at least the last Two nights I laid him back in the R&P after nursing (awake) and he went right back to sleep. We've been getting a lot of cuddle time after 4 am though! Its amazing how I can function on so little sleep and it doesn't seem to bother me. Was just talking to DH the other day about how it will feel to get a solid 8 hrs again!
@Freckles: Ethan was 15 lbs 3 weeks ago, so he's probably not too far off, we'll see what the Ped says today.

@josina: up your water intake, and eat some oatmeal! When I find that my supply needs a boost I eat oatmeal for breakfast for a few days and it works!

@whenoceansrise: Good thing you can laugh about it!! Last week I was pumping in the back office at work adnthe clock wasn't changed for daylight savings and I have people knocking on the door to get into the studio (I didn't realize the clock wasn't changed!) and I went out there with my flanges still on under my shirt! I crossed my arms over my chest and welcomed them in!
@Adira: That's super annoying! Hopefully she doesn't mess up you times since you are using vacation time to pump right?
@theotherstark: we are in crummy sleep land too (although I know it could be worse!!) We went from 6-8 hours at night to 3.... I thought she was going to be a rockstar sleeper, I was wrong!
Anyones hair started falling out yet? I remember with LO #1 the shedding was bad- but I feel like its way worse this time!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: I'm not actually! My boss came up with ways for me to "work" through my pumping sessions so that I don't have to use vacation. BUT it'll still be annoying because I leave work after that last pumping session, so I can't really wait around for her to finish!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@josina: yeah, luckily h goes down pretty easily after motn feeds. And yes, I won't even know what to so with myself when I get those long stretches!!
@cheert16: Uggggh, I'm sorry!! What a tease! Hopefully they all start getting the longer stretches again soon.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@cheert16: I will have to up the oatmeal intake.
My hair is falling out like crazy, it sucks big time. I am so sick of hair being everywhere! I finger-comb my hair every morning to try and pull out as many loose strands as I can.
nectarine / 2631 posts
@Adira: YAY! Im glad to hear that you don't have to use vacation! Can you pump in the car? That's what I do instead on sitting at work- I get hooked up and pump while I drive!
@josina: My poor family is covered in my hair! (and so am I)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@cheert16: I probably could if I had to. Although if she's in the Mother's Room when I need to be in there, I still won't be able to leave. All my milk and my pump is in there!

@KayKay: I'm skiing and pumping on Saturday! I haven't been out at all this year and haven't left Ryan except for an hour here or there so I'm so excited!!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: chug water! maybe it's just temporarily due to growth spurt?
@whenoceansrise: ahhh lol! i guess it's inevitable! but i always say it's prob more embarrassing for the other person!
@Adira: is there annnywhere else you can go? i honestly, if nothing else is possible, would do it in my car or even at my desk with a cover on! i don't care anymore as long as i get that milk out for my baby haha! one time someone was randomly in the empty office on the phone (even tho he had his own office..?) so i had to grab my stuff and use the other office my coworker uses (she wasnt there that day).
@Freckles: what a big boy! i def would not worry about overnight feedings if K was bigger! @FaithFertility did some stretches for G too and she said it had worked out really well! Man i don't even know if i would notice something like that! good eye mama!
@theotherstark: Bleh I feel you! K's isn't BAD bad, 3-5 hr stretches, but it's just that I either have to half wake up to stuff paci back in, or just not sleeping well b/c im anticipating her waking up, etc! I'm just reaaaally hoping longer stretches (like 6-7 hrs) will come naturally without having to wait for sleep training!
@cheert16: yesss my hair loss has begun! at first i thought i was being extra paranoid but more and more hair falls out in the shower for sure!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Oh, I could pump in the car OR in the other Mother's Room IF I can get my stuff! I'm just worried she's going to decide to pump in my room at the time I normally would and get in there before me, making it so I can't pump at all until she gets out (or stops and lets me come in to get my stuff).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I would totally let someone in to get their stuff, esp from one pumping mom to another! I hope she is cool with it, esp if she understands how important this is!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah, true! Although hopefully what really happens is she just grabs her stuff and goes to the other room, which is her normal room.
