I am only sharing sleep successes because Ryan's sleep was so shitty for so so long. Last night he slept 815-340 and then 4-645! His naps are still awful but who cares with better night sleep :). More often than not the last few weeks he has been doing a longer (5+ hour) stretch. Finally.

@winniebee: YAY!!! Hope you got in a decent stretch of sleep for yourself too!

I know that Logan's probably been doing it for a while, but this weekend was the first time I actually heard him laugh! My husband was doing fake sneezes and Logan was just laughing and laughing! It was so cute!!!

@Adira: I slept 6 hours straight!! Cute re laughing. Ryan chuckles but no belly laughs yet!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Oh yeah, Logan doesn't belly laugh either - just chuckles, but it was the first time I witnessed it for myself! And 6 hours straight of sleep is AWESOME!!!

@Freckles: I hope it works for you!! Haha, DH's side of the family all calls K "mei-mei" I really need to start some form of ST too... I can't live like this lol!
@winniebee: lol at dumpling and infant! so cute! And so happy that you're finally getting sleep!
@Adira: isn't it the best! DH said K laughed for the first time yesterday! He was wiping under her chin and I guess she was ticklish! I'm sooo sad I missed it. We were in such a rush this morning, I kept tickling her and laughing myself but she just looked at me like I was nuts!

I think K has been SOO bad with naps and night time sleep b/c she must have been working on so many things... Laughing, rolling tummy to back all the time. attempting to roll back to tummy now..
She fights all her naps so badly. I worked on putting her down from like 7-9 last night Everytime I put her down she wakes up! So at 9 we nursed to sleep. I put her in the merlin suit and she did a 5 hr stretch... I don't know if it was the suit, or she was exhausted!
We have to start some kind of sleep training soon too in order to attempt to have normal nights again! I literally got home from work, nursed her, did bed time for 2 hours, then nursed her to sleep again so I really had zero time for myself.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Bedtime was rough for us last night too. I was getting so frustrating because he just REFUSED to go to sleep. I was working at it from 5:30 to 7:30 and I finally gave up and just nursed him AGAIN and then he fell asleep. But only to wake up an hour later to eat again! Gahh! Luckily after that, he slept until 5:30 a.m.!

@Adira: What is going on with these kids! I really think it's a combo of regression and working on so many things developmentally. I think K could've slept through but I chose to feed her around 2:30 anyway...
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I also think part of Logan's problem is daycare. He doesn't nap well there and gets overtired. And I also think he just misses me so he wants that extra time together nursing non-stop or interacting. He was definitely do for bed, but he would just cry whenever I left the room, then I would come back and he would just smile at me!

@winniebee: Yay, share your success!!!!! Sounds like he is getting into a routine!!!!!
@Adira: So so cute I can't wait to hear a belly laugh
@snowjewelz: Sounds like she is having some major milestones!!!!

Last night he slept from 7:45-8:30, then from 9-2:30! But he was wide awake at 2:30 and I was up with him for 2 hours trying to get him to go back to sleep. Finally, DH brought him into bed with us and we slept until 8am.
Why do they think it is party time so early in the morning??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Kara is at home and her naps are still bad some days! It's so sweet that he wants to spend time with mommy tho!
@FaithFertility: I think so too.. Except milestones = horrid sleep!
@Freckles: That's not too bad! In my books that's a good day! We already accidentally slept in till like 7:30! Usually we're supposed to nurse between 6-6:30am and up by 7

@winniebee: That's so great! Share away
@Adira: We've had a lot of chuckles here too. So cute! M didn't laugh for a long time so I'm thrilled to hear it from J.
@Freckles: Ugh - being away for 2 hours in the MOTN is no fun I hope tonight is better!

Ok, pumped for about 15 seconds before I realized I didn't attach a bag....milk all.over the floor and on me.....what was I thinking
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: wow that's awesome!! i haven't asked my mom how her naps were.. Afraid to lol!
She did record Kara laughing for me! I teared up watching it at work!

@FaithFertility: isn't that the worst! Thankfully it's only happened to me once, but still... I freaked out at first and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do.

@Miss Ariel: hahahha I just cracked up and grabbed paper towel @snowjewelz: awwww I bet

I think we no longer sleep on our back, she made her way to her side again.....
Makes me nervous, but what can I do?
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: Oops! I'm always worried about doing that at work. I'm rushing around all the time and worried I'm going to walk back out onto the unit half naked or something
Not much you can do about the front / side sleeping once they can roll!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I've been walked in on twice pumping already! Once at work bc I forgot to lock the door (I just use an empty office) and once at church bc there is no lock. I don't really mind, I feel bad that they feel so bad/embarrassed lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: it will be fine! K had been a stomach sleeper tho now and seems to to back to preferring back...
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: she'll be fine! She's not swaddled so she can get herself out of the position that she got into. Even when my first started rolling and then belly sleeping, I always put him on his back and let him get into whatever position he wanted.

My husband leaves for china for work for 10 days starting tomorrow. I'm fleeing my parents for a good portion of it. Tomorrow night my mom would be happy to get up overnight with Ryan and give him a bottle. Should I do it? If I do it should I pump overnight (and if that's the case what's the point?!). I bet if I pumped before bed at 10 by boobs could make it til 5 without exploding. He usually wakes around 2 to eat and then sleeps til about 630.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: OMG, sorry about your pumping disaster! At least you realized it pretty quickly!! I think I'd be all "Um, I'm going home for the day!"
@snowjewelz: Yikes! I haven't been walked in pumping before! Awkward!! Although when I was still pumping for Xander, I went to a bachelorette party and had to go pump in my car and people just kept walking by! Not sure anyone saw me or not, but it was definitely awkward.
@winniebee: Sorry your husband is going to be gone for a while! But yay for help!! I have no advice about the pumping/nursing situation though. I'd get up to nurse, but that's because I WOH and am soooooo nervous about my supply, so I take any opportunity I can to nurse because I think it helps keep my supply up. For you though, I think I'd be tempted to pump before bed and then sleep since it'll be the first chance you have at actually getting a decent night's sleep!!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: my other option would be to nurse him MOTN and then bring him to my mom and let her get up for the day with him and sleep in myself.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Oooh, I like that idea! Although do you think you'll be able to sleep once your mom is up? Hearing other people moving around the house tends to wake me up.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: yeah I could! They have a big house and I'm in essentially another wing
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Then I would do that! Do the MOTN feed and then drop him off with your mom so you can sleep in.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
I think Logan must just miss me during the day or something. He ended up being awake from 4:00 to 8:00! But not fussy (unless I left him in the bedroom and tried to get him to nap). Just smiling and babbling at me. I fed him twice (and he got a bottle) during those 4 hours before he finally passed out!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I would nurse then leave him with mom. Nursing is so much easier than pumping!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I told some girlfriends that I pumped in the car... And I guess some either don't have kids, or didn't BF... Some were horrified and treated it like I was texting/driving! I was like, I don't do anything when I'm driving!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
K had a relatively good night. Now I put her in the merlin suit, hold her (try not to rock), pat/shush her and she takes a paci now. She is pretty fussy the first 1-2 hrs of going down though. Paci constantly falling out, trying to move in the merlin suit.. I had to go in all the time but soothing her already lying in crib is better than holding her!
She slept from 7:30 (with checks prob until after 8 tho) to 12am, nursed, then till 5am, nursed, then till 7:30, and then nursed again for a bit before I left for work.
I really don't think she NEEDS the nursing but I can't bring myself to drop them yet esp since I feel like I need them to keep up my supply... (and I like her to eat... lol)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: hahaha, people are so silly! I guess they just don't understand what you're doing when you're pumping and maybe don't realize you just attach everything and then are hands-free.
