@MamaG: Ugh, sorry about the sleep regression! I hope it only lasts a few days or something for you.
@winniebee: Thanks! I hope so!

Sorry to all the LOs & mommies that are still sick! With spring around the corners, I hope everyone will start to feel better and get to enjoy the weather (except @FaithFertility: that is always enjoying her weather, hehe)
It seems like a lot of us are going through a bad sleep period.. K's sleep is still not good at all. Some nights are average, but like last night she was up every 2 hrs! And I was too tired to sooth her so I just stuck her the boob every time.
I kept forgetting to give her gripe water before bed to see if it's gas that's making her fussy.

We changed formulas yesterday due to excess spit up. We also had a 3:30 am motn wake up and feed that we haven't seen in probably two months. Hello Monday!

These babes are getting too big, it is sooo rewarding and hard at the same time, I feel like just when I think we have some routine or schedule down it changes in a snap....I know I've got to get used to that....I heard one of you say go with what works at the moment and when it stops find a new norm!!! I'm overwhelmed with the love I have for this little human, truly wasn't prepared!
I am sorry for those with bad sleeps and sick kiddos!!
@snowjewelz: Yes, we have great weather....but gets too hot too quick, I try to do outside stuff before 10 because after that it is 80 with heat index of 85-90 no bueno for a babe!!! I'll swap a day of snow for a day of sun

@MamaG: awww I'm sorry, hopefully that formula works for you guys!!!

@FaithFertility: Hehe that's true! Too much of anything gets boring! I am still waiting for that day when we can go out for a nice neighborhood stroll... There are still mountains of stubborn ice mixed with dirt that won't go away!
I def hear you on the ever changing thing... I pretty much stop having expectations. So even through her bad nights I'm like well, I wasn't expecting her to do better!
DH & I are currently discussing what we want to do re: sleep training... Meanwhile I keep praying that she will still miraculously fall asleep on her own lol!

I have not nursed to sleep for naps in a long long time, but with this spurt it seems she eats, plays plays try to nap which equals a cat nap or waking right back up so now we have been up for 2hrs so the next time she eats she is so tired, bang out.....
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: it's ok... if she is growing thru a spurt maybe just do whatever to survive and so she can get some sleep
K has been fighting naps too. I literally have to wrangle her to lay on my chest, and fight her to shove the paci in!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: So funny how they fight sleep, but once they sleep they wake up sooo happy....think they would figure that out

E has been waking up 2x at night and CHUGGING milk. I think she was going through a growth spurt last week (she was waking up more and now I have been getting 6-7oz per pump instead of 4), but I think now she is just using MOTN to eat. Yesterday during the day (starting 7am), she nursed twice and took 10oz from bottles. Even if we assume she got more while nursing (6oz per feed maybe?), that's only 22oz during the day. If I try to feed her more than every 2.5-3hrs, she doesn't nurse as long...and she usually takes one long (3ish) hr nap during the day that I'd prefer not to wake her up from. Any thoughts on getting her to eat more during the day? Or should I just feed her for a shorter period of time during MOTN...maybe starting with the 4am one...so that she is super-hungry for that first feed of the day? You'd think I'd know these things by now!

I have no sleep advice. A 330 am wakeup just once a night is like dream world here. Ryan still nurses 7-8 times a day including usually 2x overnight (last night just once).
My first hit the 4m regression hard. We fed him at wakings but had to let him cry at bed time. Also ditched the swaddle. It worked for us. I can't imagine regressing right now. Last night was amazing in my world - bed at 815 up at 230 to eat and up for the day at 7. Naps are bad. I'm trying he magic Merlin suit for them instead of the swaddle to see if that helps.
I feel like Ryan changes so much every day. It's going way way fast with him! We started solids with Tyler at 4m but man Ryan is still a baby baby to me! I can't imagine starting solids in 3 weeks.

@KayKay: I can say this but I can't follow it myself lol. Supposedly it's good to try not to nurse MOTN so they are forced to get all their calories from the day feeds and be fuller, therefore not needing as much at night... But of course, I always nurse her MOTN b/c I have this (irrational) fear of her not eating enough all the time!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: That's amazing!! Enjoy it while you have it! It could be permanent, who knows?! 1 wake up is like... heaven lol. I feed her twice overnight, but she also has random fussing/slight wakings that keeps me up.. So I never ever sleeps as much as she does!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: I didn't go to bed til later and randomly woke t 11:30 to pee....and my husband's alarm goes off early so I definitely am still super tired! But better than every 2 hours! Kara needs to cut you a break!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: G still eats 8 times a day, 2.5 seems to be the longest she will go unless she is napping
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: ohhh I always nurse G, I guess I feel like when she wakes it is over 3 hrs so she must be hungry....but I would probably still feed her even if it was 2hrs
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Every time I go to eat a meal lately Ryan wakes up. Anyone else???

What do you guys call your LOs?
I mostly call her Kara, Kara baby and my sweetie, my baby boo...
DH calls her munchkin, and bao bao (explanation is that precious in Chinese is bao bei... but then he just calls her bao bao... lol)
nectarine / 2210 posts
@snowjewelz: my husband has started calling her sweet pea, which I think is crazy adorable.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I pretty much just call Logan, "Logan", but also sometimes "the baby" when I'm talking to other people.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I like to call all boys "handsome" B/c they all are!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@BandDmommy: Happy 4 months! Ethan is 4 mo. Next week, but his appt is Wednesday already. Not looking forward to it.
@winniebee: Ethan is always hungry as soon as we sit down to dinner, never fails!
@snowjewelz: We call Ethan Bubba... Not sure where it came from, but it stuck.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: yeah, i have that fear too! i think i will try the pacifier tonight for the later feed, and if it doesn't take, i'll just try to feed her for a shorter amount of time. definitely don't want to be starving my baby!
honeydew / 7444 posts
@snowjewelz: Other than his name, we call him "dai dai" or "moose". Dai-dai is little brother in Chinese, and Moose is because well, he is built like a moose. I had him in a 12-18 month shirt today. It's a little loose but not that much!!
We started modified CIO last night. Please don't judge, i feel awful! But his sleep was going to shit the last two weeks with no end in sight. I was getting an hour of sleep every two hours.

@MamaG: You have my sympathies. Even though i'm on mat leave, i'm doing some project work while baby is at home. I feel like i need to be ON all the time.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@Freckles: no judgement here. I'm contemplating some form of sleep training just as soon as I psych myself up to move her to the crib. We did a form of CIO with C too. The longest she ever cried was 15 minutes.

Woke to G sleeping on her side so close to edge of pnp......why are they so mobile so young??? Scared the shit out of me!!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Freckles: I'm sorry sleep is so hard, Hoping it gets better for you
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Freckles: no judgment at all! We did some light training at 4 months with our first (bed time was taking way too long). I hope it works and you get some rest!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@snowjewelz: we call him Ry and for some reason I call him dumpling or dumpling baby :). My husband sometimes calls him "the infant". Lol
