@Freckles: Gotta try everything once! K went to sleep at 6:40 last night and didn't do better/worse either...

@Adira: so much better the past few days he is barely coughing. My illness is still raging!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I had such a rough day at work yesterday! Was sooo swamped and since I didn't want to stay late (DH was already home with K all day), I took work home but just couldn't fathom WHEN to do the work with the short hours that I have, unpredictable sleep from K, and exhaustion!
I feel better today... She didn't do terribly last night but the exhaustion is just building up.
Also now K without fail struggles for 40 min to eat her first bottle but then takes all the other ones just fine. We've already been doing this for 2 weeks so I don't know how long it's gonna take her to realize she's gonna get a bottle in the morning and she should accept it lol!

@snowjewelz: I'm sorry. I feel you though- working is hard then coming home and barely having any time with M and then it's bed time. Fortunatley though I don't have to take any work home. Hope it gets better for you!

@whenoceansrise: Thanks! I guess it's just hard b/c I've never had to balance everything so delicately! I get really busy during the summer at work so I'm really starting to pray and mentally prepare.. I was NOT prepared to deal with that at all yesterday!

@winniebee: Yay! That's great to hear! I can't wait for Logan to catch up.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: it was 10 full days of serious coughing. I hope Logan is better soon too!

@winniebee: @winniebee: Hope those kiddos get better soon!
@snowjewelz: I am sorry, I'm sure that transition is no fun, Def not looking forward to it, as a teacher I bring work home ALL the time....so I can't imagine that plus a babe...

I can't believe so many babies are sick and for so long too I hope everyone can get some rest and get better over the weekend!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Hopefully by them G would be older and you would be in a super good routine!

@snowjewelz: That is the plan!! Enjoy your weekend you deserve it!

We are off to the dr shortly to check her ears. Daycare thinks it's an ear infection.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: Hope they can figure out what it is and hopefully treat it!!

@MamaG: It seems like you've had WAY too much sickness in your house I hope her ears are clear and things are looking up soon!
@FaithFertility: Have fun! I've made some great friends in classes and playgroups.
@winniebee: I'm glad R is feeling better and sleeping better! (and yes - babies are definitely random)
@snowjewelz: That must be so hard. My days are long but I'm lucky that I definitely can't take work home.
Sorry K is still struggling with that first bottle but I'm glad that she takes the other ones ok! Babies are so strange...

We switched from the rock'n'play to the crib 1 week ago and J is still all screwed up from it. I know that I'm still luckier than most, but he was STTN almost consistently for a few weeks in the RNP and now he's up at least once in the MOTN and then up for the day by 5:30. Uuuugh. I think he would probably go back to sleep after a 5am feed, but if I let him fuss / cry at all he's going to wake up his sister and then they'll BOTH be up before the sun. That I totally can't handle.

@MrsF: Our sleep is so good in the RnP that I'm afraid to mess with it by moving to the crib. Hope sleep sorts itself out for you soon.

And the diagnosis, a cold! Much as I suspected but our daycare doesn't normally say negative things, so them saying she was fussy was worrisome to me.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: We've come this far that I'm not going to go back to the RNP, but I thought he would adjust a little more quickly than that. He's still swaddled too! I can't understand why the crib makes such a difference when he can't even move. Maybe when he was cozy in the RNP he didn't realize he was in a straightjacket
And yay for just a cold!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Honestly, I think the incline of the RnP is a big deal! And with our latest cold, it's my latest excuse not to change
I learned yesterday that K is stomach sleeping at daycare. I need to confirm that it's because she's rolling on her own. And not that they are placing her on her stomach.
C was swaddled until about 5 months. We ditched the swaddle for K about a month ago. These two kids are so different!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: awww I am sure an adjustment takes some time....I think in the bigger crib they move more and it wakes them up, but I could be wrong....G does here best sleep at night in pnp and best naps in swing and her worst naps in crib but she can move equally as much in both pnp and crib so who knows....lol

We are nursing every 2 hrs or less today and she is eating her hands 24/7 ......growing like a weed I guess
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: @FaithFertility: I'm sure you're both right and that the flat surface and bigger space feel very different to him. We'll give it some more time!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: the rock n play transition was tough for my oldest! We moved him at 4m and then weaned him from the swaddle. Stay atrong!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: How long between when K nurses with you in the morning and getting that first bottle? I find that now that Logan is sleeping longer stretches, he's getting more from me at that first morning feed and then can go a good 3-4 hours before he's hungry again. After that, he's hungry every 2-3 hours. Do you think that might be the case with K, that she's just not that hungry for that first bottle and that's why it takes her so long to drink it?
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: I was a little surprised because M transitioned so easily. She was a little older though. Oh well - no going back now!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: good point.. But its usually the normal 2-3 hrs after nursing. And she only eats one side in the morning usually!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Logan only eats from one side in the morning too. Maybe try waiting before offering that first bottle? Of course if she's acting hungry then this theory doesn't work!

@Miss Ariel: precious
I've been listening to hand chewing for 15mins... really it is 11:40????

@Miss Ariel: What a cutie!
Ugh, I'm so sick of being sick. I think I'm getting worse...
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Miss Ariel: so cute!
@FaithFertility: j eats his hands like crazy during the day, but he's swaddled at night.
@Adira: I hop you're feeling better soon!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
So k was previously a no paci baby but somehow she started taking one again.. Yet she fights the bottle.. And starting to not like the nipple shield either. I have one confusing baby!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: adorable!!
@Adira: I'm sorry :(. I totally feel your pain! I'm only starting to get better the last 2 days.
