You guys this is my last shift before Jack's birthday so I am pumping at work for the very. last. time!
I'm planning on nursing am / pm for a bit so I may still have to pump in the car on my work days, but no more asking someone to cover my patients, asking someone else to leave her office so I can use it and hiding in here rather than having lunch with my coworkers!!
Formula feeding was definitely the right choice with M, but I'm really glad that nursing worked out this time. I'm feeling rather proud of myself

@MrsF: woohoo! you've done such an amazing job mama!! You should be so proud of yourself since your work schedule and work environment are both not the most accommodating for pumping!

@MrsF: Yay, way to go Mama! You should be proud!
Thanks no strep, but tonsillitis!
I honestly think I was just getting run down! I definitely needed a day to stay in bed!!

@mrsf: that's awesome! i'm happy it worked out for you, despite having all of those inconveniences!
@faithfertility: i didn't leave K overnight until she was 18m. i think it gets harder when you wait longer because they realize/remember you are gone and it becomes this BIG THING in your mind. i left E overnight (for a week!) at 7m, and i've left her a couple times since then too. i'm not saying it's ever easy, just that it doesn't necessarily get easier if you wait!

@MrsF: Awesome! Great job with your hectic schedule!
@FaithFertility: Enjoy your day off and hope you feel better soon!
Sounds like we'll be indoors all weekend, 10 inches of snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow!

@josina: wow..... Snow! We are excited for 70's for Thanksgiving, I'll take some of your snow!

bummed today. DH got laid off his job because the company he works for is in debt & can't pay their employees. I'm having to cancel Micah's party and am just going to have cake and immediate family over at our house for a small celebration. I feel like a bad mom

@whenoceansrise: I'm so sorry to hear this :(. You are the furthest thing from a bad mom. You're doing the best thing for your family. And he's 1, not 10....he will never remember. Hugs.

@MrsF: congrats!!!! So how did you cut the two day feeds? Is jack just drinking whole milk or you have a big stash? I didn't feed Ryan for pm nap today and didn't pump because I had a work commitment and the timing didn't make any sense. My boobs were rocks by 5.

@MrsF: way to go!!!
@FaithFertility: I hope you feel better so you can go!! If H were better at STTN and wasn't still nursing all the time at night, I would totally take a night away. Haha.
@josina: eek snow!!!
@whenoceansrise: aw, sorry about him losing his job You are not a bad mom!! At least you're having family over! We don't have family in the area and my husband is going out of town to a wedding on H's first birthday, so we aren't even doing a small party. Ha. M knows he is very, very loved by you guys!!

@whenoceansrise: i'm so sorry -- that must be so stressful we aren't doing a party for E, and i don't have nearly as good of excuse. the two people he loves most will be there celebrating with him!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@whenoceansrise: that really sucks. Don't feel bad about Micah's bday though, he will enjoy it regardless!

@whenoceansrise: I'm so sorry that you guys are facing this challenge Canceling the party must be such a disappointment but it certainly doesn't make you a bad mom! You are making good decisions for your family. Michah will have a wonderful day with the people who love him the most

@josina: 10 inches of snow?! Stay warm!
@FaithFertility: Hope you're feeling better!

@winniebee: I stopped offering the 9am pre-nap feed a few weeks ago (I've just been making sure he gets a big breakfast right before) and I'm going to do the same thing with the 2pm pre-nap feed over the next few days. He eats lunch right before that so hopefully he'll fill up there.
I have a pretty big stash still so I've been defrosting some each day but after his cup is empty I fill it with WCM and he seems to like that too. Since he has trouble with constipation I wanted to ease him into the WCM rather than going cold turkey one day (not that I have any evidence to prove this will be better - just sounded like a good idea to me!)
I missed a feed once this week and forgot a pump part while I was on the go - it was so strange to be engorged after feeling so empty lately!

@whenoceansrise: I am so sorry!!! And you are the farthest thing from a bad mom! Micah is beyond blessed to have parents like you!!!!!

@josina: are you guys getting buried? The pics I've seen of Kinnick look a little ridiculous!! It's freezing here this morning (18 feels like 6 when we woke up!), but all the snow is going south of us.

@whenoceansrise: oh no! Hopefully he's able to find something new soon!
nectarine / 2053 posts
thanks ladies! I'm starting to feel better about it. All that matters is that he knows he is insanely loved by us!

@KayKay: I think we did get right around 9 inches, it ranged from 8-12. I'm glad it was on a weekend so I didn't have to worry about driving to work.
It's def. A winter wonderland now but supposed to back in the 50's this week.

@whenoceansrise: I am so sorry to hear. A birthday party is something he won't remember! We're having a super small party at home too. I am pretty sure I did't have a 1st birthday party and I turned out fine and don't hate my parents
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: haha, can I borrow some of that snow for our winter onederland party!? must look so pretty! I always hope for a white Christmas, I'll be hoping again this year!

@MrsF: YAY!!! Congratulations on nursing/pumping for this long!!!
@whenoceansrise: Oh my gosh, I'm so so sorry. I hope he's able to find another job soon. That has to be scary, and really sad, heading into the holidays.

@FaithFertility: how are you feeling btw? did you end up going out?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: lol. The snow would be perfect.
Getting super frustrated with Ethan's sleep lately... its been a struggle to get him down! Past 3 nights he was up screaming at 11 and then won't just nurse back to sleep. Maybe he's gotten too used to coming to bed with me? Ugh. Hoping things turn around on their own... we had a week where he would go down awake, I want that back!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Doing alright, its in my chest so just tired ya know!
I actually didn't, was going to but she didn't have all the details yet so we are doing a sister night out on the town in a few weeks!
@josina: We are right there with you 1a.m. wakes on and off the past week and she WILL NOT go back down
Will fall asleep on me or DH but flips when we put her down...blahhhh
I let her CIO as I know she is OK, but can't handle anymore than 5mins and if she is standing I know she WILL NOT lay back down...lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Aww that will be so fun! And you can be prepared for it!
@FaithFertility: @josina: We are fine overnight, but she is still waking up at 6am, and some days she's clearly still tired but just cannot go back down either, even if I hold her. And then she's just like cranky, half awake half asleep for like an hour...
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: awww yeah 6-6:30 is her norm even with he 20-30min wake at 1
So sometimes she gets less than 10hrs but seems a OK in that area....lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Yeah, K seems fine too but for some reason I have it in my head that she must have at least 10 hrs of sleep! And I feel bad b/c some days if we're out then she doesn't take long naps like she does at home... Oh well.. And I think I keep anticipating when she's gonna drop to 1 nap too, I am so confused as to how that will go down!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: ughhh the 1 nap! G naps 1 nap at day care pretty regular now, I guess it is OK!
This weekend she did fight her morning naps and was up from 6/6:30-10 Saturday and Sunday, I think it is on the horizon for us
