@MamaG: That is too sweet!
@BandDmommy: Well, J isn't walking yet so it's hard for me to think of him as a toddler. Especially with him being my second - he still seems so young!

@MamaG: That story made me tear up a bit. C is such a sweet girl! I bet if Charlie met her, he would love her back He is such a flirt!

@BandDmommy: I tend to use 1 as the start of toddler, but I agree that they still seem so much like babies! Maybe 1.5 is better

@MrsF: Ugh, hope J gets through them without too much trouble! From what I remember with Cayla, these are nothing compared to canines though, so we still have a while to go

@MrsScallop: Welcome back! Glad Charlie is doing so well. I even fill my husband in on him when you post updates on his page. Hope he has an awesome birthday
@BandDmommy: M is still my baby LOL. He's not walking yet, so maybe when he's older, he'll be a toddler to me.
@josina: Glad E's ears are doing better. Hope they stay that way for awhile!

@MrsScallop: It's so good to hear from you!! I always enjoy seeing your updates on Charlie on both FB, IG, and here!! You and he will always be part of the December 2014 Mom family!!
@BandDmommy: I've heard two things: they are toddlers once they turn one. Or they are toddlers once they start walking. So D is DEFINITELY a toddler!!!
Also, WTF? People are working on molars?? Logan only has 6 teeth still!! Stop being over-achievers in the teeth department, other babies!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: haha, okay, good, now I feel better about our lack of teeth.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: We still have 6 that I know of!
@MamaG: sooo sweet!
E is getting good at temper tantrums already, he is sooooo clingy and cries if I even close the bathroom door on him, which was my entire shower this morning despite sis trying to distract him. Scream-fest at drop off too. (didn't help that he got up at 5 am). Hope this is short-lived.

@josina: I read that 12-18 months is the peak of separation anxiety or something, so... I think we're in for some fun the next few months...
pomelo / 5298 posts
The 12 months shots suck. They couldn't get any blood with the draw (which had her pissed to begin with), followed up with four jabs to the legs. She was pretty pissed still when I dropped her at daycare. But the good news is her ears are finally clear. And she's cutting more teeth. Last night was a chew fest and she needed advil during the night to get through. Being one is hard.

We only have 4 teeth too - two bottom and two vampire uppers.
I start calling them toddler when they are toddling around (aka walking!) but we joke we'll probably always call Ryan "Baby Ryan".
Speaking of Baby Ryan...he was awake at 12:30 and 3:30 and up for the day at 6:15. He sleeps through the night maybe once a week. Is he the only one NOT STTN? Remember how in the early days ya'll said...."oh, he'll make up for all this horrible sleep by becoming a great sleeper down the road." You guys were lying to me!!!!

@josina: K too. She clings onto my for dear life in the morning and won't let daddy take her so I'm always sooo late to work!
@MamaG: Being one sure is hard! Totally agree
So K's fever went away yesterday, and she seems pretty normal, but still extra cranky and extra wake-ups at night. I guess I'll let the dr tell me if she's molar-ing on Friday cause I can't get in to take a good look.
My baby will never be a toddler/kid... My baby forever. Even tho I call her "big girl" all the time!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: K has been having more wake-ups lately. I'm now more and more sure molars are coming in b/c she wasn't sick anymore, but she wakes and cries right away. Some nights she'll sleep through, some nights not..
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: He's still got time to make up for it. He might be a teen by the time he decides to make up for all the missed sleep.

D still only has 4 teeth. I don't feel ready to call her a toddler but I guess she won't be the baby come march/april..
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: and by then, i'll be 50 and waking at 4 am myself anyways.....

K is finally getting her last bottom front tooth in. She's had three down there for a long time. So I think she's got 10 now. Her front 8 plus two upper molars. Her bottom gums are terribly swollen where the molars are due.
C got her two year molars right before she turned two and then was done. I expect K to follow suit at this rate.

@winniebee: G STTN 5-6 days out of the week! I feel like there is always 1-2 MOTN wakes somewhere in the weekly mix!
eggplant / 11861 posts
I only could get G to eat 2 pouches yesterday with some.puffs
Same path today it seems! Poor girl

@MamaG: I am not looking forward to that appointment at all!!!

@josina: K hates shut doors too, even if I'm in the same room as her. This morning I shut the bedroom door while I was getting ready, except that made her mad since she wasn't able to crawl to the rest of the house.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: haha you said it perfect! Generally STTN but there's always those few days here & there!
I hope she'll feel better!!

@snowjewelz: Me too she is worse today, so I am hoping that means only better from here!!!

@josina: M is throwing tantrums too. If he's not doing what he wants & I'm holding him, he throws himself backwards & arches his back.
@winniebee: M's naps are all over the place lately (used to take 3, but the other day only took one 30 min one). He went to bed at 7:15pm that night & slept till 7am. Night before last, went at 8:30pm (fussed for awhile & I accidentally woke him up ) but slept till 7:15am. Both nights were only one wakeup around 6am for a bottle. Last night was back to normal...went to bed at 7:30pm & woke at 3:40am & 5:40am and would only sleep after a bottle (both bottles were small amounts of about 2ozs each)
We still only have 4 teeth here too. The 2 bottom are completely through, top right is halfway through & top left just broke through recently. He's chewing on his hands a lot though.

i'm still here, i promise!
@MrsScallop: so happy seeing you back!
you guys, i don't think we are anywhere near weaning. it makes me so nervous when i think about it because m still isn't that great at eating solids and he can't seem to figure out any kind of sippy cup or straw cup. he just wants to chew on them!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@whenoceansrise: not sure what you guys have done, but one way that helped K figure out cups was by giving her one in the bath. Just a normal open cup of clean water. At first she'd pour it all over her, but she was already wet in the tub, but she started getting the hang up it. It's what my mom used to do with me.
Also we keep a sippie of water in the living room so as she's playing she'll pick it up and take sips whenever she notices it.

@Miss Ariel: Awesome bath idea!!!
I need to try that to get G to drink water!!!!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@whenoceansrise: I like the bath tub idea!
Micah is stinking adorable! Hope he figures something out for you!!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Yes they do suck! Glad her ears are clear.
@winniebee: I hope Ryan figures it out! E was up at 1:30 last night but will usually sleep until 5/5:30.
@Miss Ariel: E actually loves to open/shut them and then screams when he shuts himself in a room.
@AngelicOne: The tantrums are crazy already, lol!
@whenoceansrise: Does he try and steal your water bottles? Ethan loves my squeeze bottle, I wonder if that would work?
Just call a call from the drs office, which was an oh no since no news was good news. E's hemoglobin levels are low for iron (9 when should be at least 11) so off to get an iron supplement. He gets a lot of meat/pasta, but maybe he's not actually ingesting enough of it (vs rubbing it in his hair/throwing on the floor). Means another blood draw next month.

@winniebee: we're not STTN anymore either. the last 3 days have been up 2x, once around 11/12 and again around 4/5. UGH. i'd say it's worse because she USED to STTN back from 6-9m, but honestly, i think it just sucks either way!
between the separation anxiety, molars (1/4 cut so far), lots of new words/noises, and whatever wonder week this is, i think she just has a LOT going on and needs the extra comfort. but mama could *really* use the extra sleep!! more coffee please...
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: bummer about the follow-up! give that boy some steak bones to gnaw on
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: sorry for the crappy sleep for you too. yeah I think new skills may be part of it. He wakes up RAGING mad at night though unless he gets me. He's starting to walk, and trying to talk a lot more, and seems to be much more jealous when I'm giving his brother attention...so...maybe that's it?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: aw that stinks. you might try cooking his food in a cast iron skillet!

@winniebee: omg we are jealous city over here if older sister comes anywhere near my lap. E races over and tries to push her off/climb up.

@miss Ariel: at Ks daycare they gave them Dixie cups with a splash of water and would just refill constantly. Granted this was outside in spring/summer in NC so the spills were actually helpful cooling, but still worked great for teaching! The bathtub is a great alternative for these winter babes
