So dr sent K's prescription to CVS. I called to see how long it would be to determine if we go together or DH drop us at home. They said 10 min so we go since its on the way. Somehow we waited for AN HOUR. I wasn't aware of the time at first since I was walking K around to look at stuff. Then every time we asked they said filling it right now. One hour later we check out. We were picking up something else too that's been ready. NO AMOXICILLIN. At this point I already went back to the car with K thinking DH would be right out. I got worried when he didn't come out so we went back in to find him waiting yet again. So I lost it; the manager came over and I was like my baby is sick; we were supposed to wait 10 min and it turned into an hour plus??? She know missed her nap and she currently has a temp and an ear infection (told through sobs). She was apologetic and said she was wondering why we were waiting so long with a baby (then why didn't you do something!!!!). She gave us the meds for free (yay... Not). I was soo over it. Thankfully K was a trooper and was not fussy. I'm still fuming thinking about it! We kept wondering if we should go home, but I kept thinking they will fill it now. UGH.

@snowjewelz: omg. I would've been (and still be) furious! And like a free generic Rx is any help?! Ugh. So sorry

@snowjewelz: awful, you are already on edge with a sick babe, no time for their carelessness!

@snowjewelz: Ugh - I would have been furious Glad that you have a diagnosis and some antibiotics for her!

@snowjewelz: OMG I would have flipped my ish, and definitely would have cried. I am so sorry Poor K. I hope she feels better soon. At least now you know what is going on!

@snowjewelz: yikes! I have a hot temper I would have lost it after 30 mins!

@snowjewelz: sorry she's sick. I've been very fortunate at our local Walgreens. They always fill our prescriptions fast. Of course lately I feel like they know me by name.

@MamaG: I usually go to that CVS too and never had a problem!
So K was up from 1-4. I kinda just changed and rolled out the door to get to work, and I have a billion errands scheduled for today but I'm pretty sure DH will kill me if I don't go home the first second I can!

@snowjewelz: YIKES. That was like us last week. But now R is binge sleeping this week to make up for it.

@snowjewelz: Glad you brought her in to get her checked out. Hopefully she feels better soon. Sooooo sorry about your ridiculous wait at CVS! What was their excuse?? Amoxicillan doesn't take that long to mix up!

So our nursing has come to an end! I've decided to close up shop!
She rarley does MOTN and I offer at night before bed but that is it!
She actually pulled at my breasts yesterday morning when I layed her in our bed, so I told her ALL GONE and got her, her cup!
I figure let me cut it now before she will "ask for it" more since this is new!
I am so sad, but also glad she has pretty much done it her self!!!!

@snowjewelz: omg! i would have been so mad! hoping k starts feeling better!
@FaithFertility: awww i imagine i'll feel the same way when we start weaning.

I should not have bragged on my Walgreens. We were there again today to get more meds for C (ear infection today) and they were soooo slow! And so many cranky old customers.
I probably won't be online much (so many things to get done!), so MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of your families.

@FaithFertility: great job for nursing so long! I think total weaning is in our near future too. So little now!
Warmest holiday wishes to you ladies!

@FaithFertility: I think we will be there soon also, I really only nurse once during the day and then MOTN, but we really need to cut out those sessions!
@snowjewelz: What a crappy experience at the pharmacy, can't believe they would just keep lying to you about having it almost ready!
Hope she's feeling better!
Hope everyone is having a good Christmas! Our living area is start to look like a kids garage, E got 3 new ride on toys and a wagon! Add that to the 4 he already has, it will be a fun summer outside!

@FaithFertility: Great job nursing for so long! I had similar thoughts that if I wanted until Jack was asking to nurse it would be so much harder...
@MamaG: That pharmacy wait is so frustrating! Lately I've been just driving in circles until I get the automatic call that it's ready and then going straight to the pharmacy drive-thru. Just one more reason I love the suburbs: drive-thru everything! I hope C is feeling better soon - You guys can't catch a break

@MamaG: I am! - and you're so sweet to ask We rotate the winter holidays so this year I was thanksgiving "eve" and day, next year christmas eve and day, then new years the year after that. I'm so grateful for my coworkers who working!
I remember that @FaithFertility: 's DH had the day off. @winniebee: was your husband working? I'm always thinking of those who can't be at home with their families!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Yeah! I knew you worked Thanksgiving so I hoped you weren't working again today. I'm thinking of running to the firehouse later and dropping off some cookies. I'm eternally grateful for our community members that are serving us today.
It seems everyone is up from their nap. I probably should get a shower sometime today
Yes, @winniebee: and @KayKay: are your husbands home today (I hope so!).

@MrsF: He sure is He thankfully switched shifts!!
So glad you are home too!!!!!

@MamaG: he worked Christmas Eve including 3 consults overnight and one at 630 am. We had a feeling that would happen so I stayed at my parents and did Christmas morning with them and he was able to join us at 1030. Could have been worse.

@mrsf: @mamag: @winniebee: he worked today but we had the choice of christmas eve or christmas day and went with this. he has been gone since about 9a, but my family and sister are here to celebrate with us!

@KayKay: Aww, but glad you have family around and you got to be together Christmas eve!!!

Put G to bed again not offering nursing, this is hard
I cried a little!!!!
She doesn't care, but I do.....
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: hang in there! Did you just decide to move on? You can always offer tomorrow if you have regrets.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: I did, it seemed like time! She also the other day "asked for it" and was grabbing at me, she never did that before so I thought, well might as well wean now before it gets hard, if she is going to start asking!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: it's tough! Ryan has definitely seemed like he wants it at times during the day but I just redirect. We are down to morning and night and I don't think he's getting much at this point. Part of me wants to wean by 13m....part of me wants to nurse forever....and I always said never past 1!

@FaithFertility: Aww congrats on making it this far with nursing!
@snowjewelz: Sorry you had a crappy pharmacy experience. I hate when babies are sick. @MamaG: I used to work at a retail pharmacy. Cranky old people are not fun.
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Our living room is overrun with so many toys...his old toys, a new shopping cart, the FP yellow chair, lots of blocks, and a few other things (like his wagon that's in our garage). My weekend will be spent rotating toys!

Our living room is overrun with toys too. I have no idea where we're going to keep all the stuff. Def the craziness of a December birthday that everything enters the house at once.

OMG, Logan has been screaming for almost two hours and we can't get him to go back to sleep!
