@winniebee: Oh that's wonderful! You must have been so happy to see the ultrasound
@snowjewelz: We spent the weekend outside and the kids were both in heaven. J has only been walking for a few weeks so he was very confused by how to walk on the grass He's got it figured out now though. Of course now it's been raining the last 2 days though...
and we have the same problem with dog poop. Our backyard is fenced in which is awesome but it's so convenient to just let the dog out by herself that I always worry that there's poop somewhere I don't know about. Yuck. I'm trying to be better about it!

@AngelicOne: That sounds like J! He's definitely entertained by just walking around and watching everyone recently.

@MrsF: K doesn't like touching the grass since it's all dry and prickly now! I told DH he's gonna have to pick up the poop daily! We used to get away with doing it twice a week!

K was so entertaining last night. Her and C were playing with outdoor plastic balls. They like to use them like yoga balls and sit on them and bounce. We happen to have two that are each size appropriate for them. They also like to take each others and act just all sorts of silly. At one point Kaylee stood up, threw her shoulders back, took a deep breath and yelled "MY BALL". It was mostly one word and sounded like MABALL, but she was so mad and dramatic. Of course I laughed at the tiny actress so it became a game, she kept doing it and immediately laughing. I.LOVE.this.age!
I feel her verbal explosion is coming soon. Her daycare teacher says that she can say "thank you" but we haven't heard it yet at home.

@MrsF: We are getting our backyard redone tomorrow, in so excited it's weeds and poop right now

@FaithFertility: Oh noooooooo praying you feel better asap esp with baby #2 in there! And pray that it skips G!!
I think K had her first nightmare last night! Does this sound like it? Woke up MOTN crying like there's no tomorrow, wouldn't even let me pick her up at first and then would only sleep on my shoulder with a death grip my arm and koala-ing me with her legs. It was so sad!

@FaithFertility: ugh I hope G avoids it : (
@snowjewelz: seems like it could be!

R had his well visit today. He's 30 inches and 20.5 lbs. Staying right on his curve, lol. Talked about speech - between animal sounds, a few words, and signs, he has 5 but that's really the minimum for this point. I'm not worried yet as his brother was slow out of the gates, but it's something that will be on our minds between now and 18m.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: We had ours on Monday; on her sheet it says technically they only need 3-5!
I totally forgot to update stats... Funny how these things just escape me now when they used to be SO important lol.
K is about R's height, 31", tho I think she is taller than they measured since she screams and tries to get up haha! She's 22 lbs. Dr said all her molars are in, to my surprise! Since I never get a good look in there. So next to come are canines. Probably will be taking her to the dentist at some point this year.
She had to have 2 vials of blood taken from her... My mom and I both have genetic iron deficiency, and K tested a little low in iron when she was younger, so they wanted blood for more comprehensive tests. I felt SO bad for her! She was not happy And she got 2 shots after too

OMG, I'm so behind on this thread. You guys are chattier than I am!
@winniebee: We don't have our well-visit until next week, but I think Logan is similar to R with words. He really only says maybe 5 as well.
@snowjewelz: Awww, poor K! That sounds like a rough night!
@MamaG: That's so fun!!! This age is one of the best! I can't believe how close she is to her verbal explosion though!! Xander didn't have his until 20 months, although I think boys are usually slower than girls in this area.
As for us, Logan is full on WALKING!!! I LOVE it!!! It's so fun watching him toddle after Xander or us. And he's so affectionate! Yesterday, he was just walking around, and I said "Logan, come give me a hug!" and I held out my arms, and he just toddled into my arms and gave me a hug. He also appears to be working on molars... when do canines happen? I feel like he skipped them, but maybe you get molars first??
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I believe most get molars first... K has all her molars in now so just waiting for canines. I really love this stage too! So interactive, something new everyday!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: T got his canines after his molars. His molars came in 15-18 months and then his canines I think were 20-22 months?
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: @snowjewelz: G has hers tomorrow!
I don't think we get shots? I could be wrong
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: @winniebee: Thanks ladies! I couldn't remember when Xander got his in, so glad to know Logan's not just missing 4 teeth right off the bat, haha.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: hahaha!
@FaithFertility: K did get 2, but I have no idea what kind of schedule our practice has! One was to finish up a series, then the other was for hep a or something like that.
Are you okay btw?? Able to keep anything down?
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: We had 2 shots at the 15 month visit as well.
@Adira: We are waiting on canines too, her gums are really swollen and she's chewing her hands. I think they are on their way soon. She's just missing the canines and two year molars at this point.
Woot for walking! K has just started to hug us when we ask for it too. It's awesome. As far as language, I think a lot of K's at this point is jumbled and we know what she means but an outsider wouldn't. It's slowly becoming more clear. C had her language explosion just after 18 months (so not too far off of Xander).
@snowjewelz: I despise the blood draw. It was not my idea of a good time for K!
@FaithFertility: Feel better, stay hydrated.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: I thought they were kidding about it being the same blood draw as we get... I was like... WHAT?!

@Adira: So cute! M is full on walking now too. He loves chasing the dog & cat around our apt. LOL
He also gives us kisses when we ask for them. He will sometimes randomly give them to DH if he's holding him. M's getting his molars now too according to the ped that saw him 2 weeks ago.
@FaithFertility: Hope you feel better soon!

@faithfertility: ugh - rest up and get well!
@adira: molars are typically before canines. E has everything except her upper 2 canines now -- almost a full mouthful!
@winniebee: E has quite a few "words" but tbh, only if you spend a lot of time with her and pay a lot of attention would you realize it. Uh-oh, hi, bye, up, and mama are the only ones that any outsider would for sure comprehend. Dada & Kate-kate sound exactly the same, and most other ones are a mangled repetition of the first syllable of the word

@snowjewelz: hanging in there, I haven't thrown up since 8 but can only stomach a few crackers and sips of water I'm forcing it, gotta keep little babe in there ok
This is awful and all I want to do is snug my baby
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: Oh no I hope that you're feeling better soon and that G stays healthy!
@snowjewelz: Poor K! That must have been so hard.
@Adira: Isn't the walking fun? So cute J's only been walking about 3 weeks now but already I can hardly even picture him crawling. And J got his molars first.
honeydew / 7283 posts
J still doesn't have any real words but his receptive language is definitely showing through more. Yesterday I said to Molly "I'll read you one more book and then I have to change Jack's diaper". He toddled over to the cabinet, got out a diaper and brought it back over to me. And then ran away because he hates having his diaper changed

@snowjewelz: Sad about the nightmare. I wonder too if some of Ethan's nighttime wake-ups are because of nightmares. He's woke up before and cried for a half hour for no reason. Poor babies.
@Adira: AWWW to the hugs! We usually have to beg for those, lol.
@FaithFertility: Sorry you're sick, hopefully a quick one so you can enjoy spring break!! Any plans?
@MamaG: Omg, too adorable, MaBall!
@winniebee: With you on the less than 5 words right now. Hope these boys catch up soon.
@snowjewelz: Blood draws suck. Hope her iron is ok! Ethan's was good at his 2nd draw and we push cheerios as a snack (which he loves) to help with it.
@MrsF: Ha ha to getting the diaper and then running away. Ethan will always walk to his room for a diaper change, but stops at the doorway and waits for me to chase him down. They're soo fun!
I think I'm the only one who doesn't have a 15 mo. appt. We don't go back till 18 months.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: what's with the diaper changing hate? K will grab her bum after she's pooped. I go to get a diaper and she runs the opposite direction. So frustrating.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Is anyone's kid protesting bedtime? I'm not sure if it's because Xander stays up a little later than Logan, or what, but whenever I tell him it's bedtime and pick him up, he screams bloody murder and fights me!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: Ryan's naps have been so bad the past week so he is conking out early, no protesting there yet! He protests everything else in life, it seems, lol!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: Our pediatrician really focused on that today - receptive language. I go tell him to get his coat, or ask him if he wants a nap, or a bath, etc and he responds immediately. He also knows a bunch of body parts which she thought was great! The words will come, I know!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Yes!! Fights and fights and fights and I had to wrangle her in the carrier lately after like 40 min of not wanting to go to bed! One night I think she was up for like 8 hrs after nap!
Everytime I ask if she wants to go to bed it's "NO!"
We're in bed and it's "open" (pointing at door) " there" (pointing at door)
Or it's singing, talking, then she tries to be cute and says "hug" and hugs me, and then wants off the bed..
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: That's good to hear I'm only sort of moderately concerned and our pediatrician definitely wasn't too worried, but still...
And just so I'm clear - when you say body parts, is he identifying them or pointing to them when you ask him "where is your nose?"
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: It's ridiculous. A full on battle each time.
@Adira: J is still pretty exhausted on the 1 nap schedule - so he's ready for bedtime.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MrsF: he just points to the body part! Nose, teeth, ears, belly....
honeydew / 7283 posts
In the past week J has started to absolutely freak out about the bath. It used to be such a fun time - laughing and splashing with M. He started screaming when I would rinse his hair (I usually tip him back and pour water so it's not in his eyes) and now last night he screamed the whole time he was in the tub
Anyone else having a hard time with the bath or other new fears?
