So K does have some sort of deficiency in her blood, which I think is exactly what my mom and I have. But he said it's of no consequence (since we both live with it), so... Oh well? At least they won't have to re-test this at any point!
K can identify and say head, hair eyes, ears, mouth (mouf) and toes. She can point to her tummy and belly button. I'm preeeettty sure it's b/c she has seen the nursery rhyme videos too many times......

@MrsF: Aww! K did that once but I think it was b/c my mom bathed her with me instead of DH so it was different? Ugh, I hope this doesn't happen b/c she loves bath time!

@MrsF: for words all we really have is mama, dada, that, and elmo. he sometimes says something that sounds like TY, but I might be projecting. He has one sign, and maybe 3 animal sounds (quack, ooo-ooo ahh ahh and woof woof).

@Adira: Bedtime: We were having an issue last week where she'd cry when we walked to her room and put her in the crib. She'd settle down pretty quickly after we left her room. But she'd play in her crib for a good 30 minutes. Since the time change, she's wiped out for some reason. She's taking a normal nap at daycare but her overnight sleep is longer. She's out when we put her in the crib and stays that way until we wake her in the morning.
I thought it was a good time to introduce a night time lullabye. That's a no go. She cries if we try to sing to her in her room. So weird, we sang Rock a bye to C forever! She will still request it some nights.

@mrsf: K developed the. worst. bathtime fear at 8mo, and it didn't go away until...maybe 13 or 14 months? we ended up switching her to our big master tub AND let her stand up. and that got us good enough to be able to bathe her without totally screaming and eventually things went back to normal. But it was a brutal 6mo hope yours fades quicker than that!

@winniebee: I mean seriously, I know I'm not Celine Dion but I'm your mama, I can sing Rock a bye....she wimpers as soon as I start and ends up full on wailing if I continue. But if we sing it in the family room in the middle of the day with our crazy antics of shaking her when we get the verse "and the cradle will rock" and "dropping" her to the floor for "and the cradle will fall"... bitty actress!

@MamaG: I just think that whole scene is hilarious. Does she cry other times if you try to sing to her??
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: NO! As a matter of fact at a doctor appointment where they were having to get heart rate, the nurse specifically commented about how her rate dropped to normal ranges when we started singing to her. Even C sings to her to calm her down! And she gets frustrated with the radio in the car, she wants C and me to sing (it's our weird morning commute routine).

Easter baskets? If you are doing one for your little, what are you putting in it this year?
I got K a stuffed bunny and a few of the Hape toys when they were on sale a week or so ago on Amazon. We don't really give her candy yet, but I'll look for some sort of cracker snack to put in. I might try to find a new sippy cup too.
For C, all I have so far is a stuffed bunny and new sunglasses. I intend to get her a Disney blu-ray, I just need to grab one. She will get a few pieces of candy as well.

@MamaG: I got a new Little Blue Truck book and a little broom set from Amazon (since he loves to help clean) for E's basket plus the standard hollow chocolate bunny, peeps, and jelly beans for all of us. DSD will also get the new Hunger Games blueray that comes out the 22nd.

@FaithFertility: I'm here!!
No easter basket here, but she has gotten a huge influx of toys lately! We set up her play kitchen, I got her a Ukulele (since DH plays guitar), someone gave us Paw Patrol cars since she watches it, today I'm getting delivered a doodle pad and aqua doodle mat...
And tomorrow I'm picking up a playhouse and slide for outside....

Are y'all reading to your littles? K seems interested enough in tearing all the books off the shelves. She will sit and look at them but if we try to read them she closes them or runs off with them. I don't recall this being an issue with C. We can't even get through some of the "first word" type picture books.

@FaithFertility: For your reading pleasure I'll do an update about last night too..
So fight bed time is no news; I was proactive and just stuffed her in the carrier at 7pm. She took a bad nap yesterday so I knew she needed to sleep early. Sure enough she conked out. Then she was up like 4-5 times last night. Not crying out badly, but she'd cry a little bit and say no multiple times?! And then I always had to hold her straight too so she could lay her head on my shoulder. It's so weird! I don't know if that counted as night terrors too. Maybe she dreamt about something she didn't like and that's why she was saying no no no?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: It's not so much me reading to her but it's her reading to me. She just points out everything she knows on that page, and then moves on!

@MamaG: G loves books and to read! We read nightly before bath! Some nights she will sit for 10-15 mins others 2-5
@snowjewelz: Ohhh she is also getting a water table but can't fit that in a basket
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Bleh, so you have to rush back? Or just miss part of it?

Easter basket: swim suit & rash guard, sun hat, crocs (all hand-me-downs from Xander, shhhh, the Easter bunny stole them to regift!), chocolate (for me), Duck & Goose book, a hot wheels car, a new romper

@FaithFertility: So jealous you will be able to play with the water now, haha! We have a hand me down water table (all the outside toys I got used anyway), but no water is going into that thing till prob May

@snowjewelz: This was G that few weeks but would wake once and it was hell to get her back down, but she would wake SCREAMING!
Maybe it is nightmares and she is scared
I think it was with her fear of Shadows too I think she was scared to wake alone and just needed us for a bit, it has/is getting better! Hopefully K figures it out too!

@snowjewelz: IDK?!? I asked what time and she wasn't even sure when my sister was available......lol
Typical moms
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: We read a few books before naps and bed - he is pretty attentive then and wants each book read multiple times. During the day he has less of an attention span and sometimes just wants to turn the pages or close the book. Except if it's a favorite then he will sit for awhile! He loves Pout Pout Fish, Binkie, and some animal books. I think by 18m the attention span for reading is a lot better.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I'm sure she will! I just feel so bad! I can't imagine what they must feel like having these "nightmares"!
Even before kids, I hate it when people can't make solid plans! And esp now with K, I need to know when where how long like 2 weeks in advance!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I figure when he's older, he'll get new swim gear and stuff, but Xander wore these 18m stuff sparingly, so they still are in good condition! And Xander hopefully doesn't remember that they were his! I don't think I'll be able to do this next year though because Xander's memory is getting too good.

@snowjewelz: My mom and MIL ARE the worst....lol my mom is either when she says or she will think of this grand plan but never check with anyone...she also forgets G has another side of a family too.....but I love her
MIL can never commit to anything yet as nothing going on...lol

@Adira: Oh man! So he gets attached to even his clothes?
My friend whom I get most of our hand me downs from, said her DD didn't want to give away her winter jacket! But then there was toy she didn't like, and she told her mom, "let's give this to baby Kara." lol!

@MamaG: we keep several books in the living room and K we bring some to me and listen to me read them. It's normally the touch and feel or lift the flap books that hold her attention, except for Llama Llama Red Pajama which she'll listen to all the way through.
Although she won't listen to books before bed anymore. I think part of it is I taught her to put books back on the shelf so she just wants to do that now. Plus all of her favorite books are in the living room.

@snowjewelz: He's not attached to them, but he'll remember that they were his and know the Easter Bunny isn't real!
