@josina: WTG E! We don't even have a potty seat for M yet. Guess I should look into them. lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I keep saying I'm gonna get a potty for her since she's constantly in the bathroom with me on weekends but I haven't yet, haha.
What's going on with everyone lately?
We seem to finally have gotten over the bad eating phase, but she still leans heavily towards carbs. While she eats tons of fruit, she isn't eating a lot of veggies so when DH has the time (my mom's been on vacation so he's been stepping up big time), he'll start juicing for her.
We are battling with this one eczema spot on her face. So weird! Not anywhere else; just re-occuring at this 1 spot on her face!
Her new thing is to tell us to come into a room and then close the door. Once, I asked if daddy can come too, she said no and closed the door! Poor daddy. He spends significantly more time with her than I do esp these 2 weeks, but she is still all about mom!
Also I'm not sure when she made the change, but I realized she stopped calling me mama and it's 99% mommy now. When did that happen!?
ETA: Oh can't forget about sleep! Sleep has been great except she wakes up before 6am! But whatever, hopefully at some point eventually one day she'll sleep in again...

Update on Ryan....he's been pretty sick for about a week. Nasty cold, moody, etc. Perfect for on vacation! He seems to be talking more....definitely uses mama and dada appropriately, says "bey" for binki, hi, bye bye, water (wawa), that, ball, hot, bubble, and uh oh. I think he'll be ok for his 18 month visit next month.
He's definitely working on canines but I don't see anything yet. We have been in a month of early wake ups - like 5:30 a.m. every day (was doing 730-530 whereas before it was 730-6 or 630). But the past few days have been better. Hoping it was a phase. Naps, we're still needing 2 some days (specially while sick or on vacation).
Definitely full on toddler, throwing fits and tantrums, very specific about what he wants. Very into puzzles, balls, and toys to figure out. Gets obsessed with one book and only wants to read that one for weeks. He's so stinking cute and still seems to be very much a baby to me, but he won't be *the* baby for too much longer!

@winniebee: Hope he feels better soon, poor guy! Wow on all the words!
Ethan is saying hi, bye, out, moo, meow, night, mom, dad. He signs 'more please' constantly, and knows milk and drink but rarely uses them.
He LOVES fruit, especially fruit cups. He loves pizza, and bread. Did great eating green beans last night. It's pretty hit or miss on anything not fruit.
Sleep is great since we weaned, although he goes to bed later than I'd like. Usually sleeps 9 to 6. Weekend naps are 1- 3 hour nap but at daycare he still takes 2; she's tried going to one but he grabs his sippy and walks to his 'room' wanting that morning nap yet.
He wants to be outside all. the. time. Rainy days are a struggle.

@snowjewelz: I feel you on the early wakeups! Like all things kid related, I'm guessing it's a phase!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@josina: oh man we have this problem too. Constanty going to door and demanding to be let out!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: @winniebee: I know! We had a week of gorgeous weather and then the temps plunged back down and it's been raining too. I refuse to blow bubbles inside and I keep telling her to sing "rain rain go away" haha. She will say it's wet and cold but still get her shoes and tries to put them on and asks for her jacket
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@winniebee: @snowjewelz: The worst is when he gets on his rubber boots (usually on the wrong foot) and says 'more please' by the door.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: So sad! I think she understands rain (we don't even have raincoat/boots for her to go out!), but when it was just cold and I really didn't feel like going out, she was not happy! I stalled her by going together to look for her jacket and then eventually doing something else lol.

@snowjewelz: Mommy adorable! G says Daddy but I'm still Mama!
We are up at 6ish too, it's our norm I think we are used to it....lol
@winniebee: Seems like his words took off He is adorable, hat saw his IG Moo picture
@josina: Nice naps Anymore potty business?!
G is growing way too fast! Her vocabulary is crazy and starting to say 2-3 words sentences "Come on Mama, Mama sit down and Help me.......well she yells help me from her crib....lovely!
Eating is becoming a strage stage right now, demands to eat but then doesn't want to, will eat dinner some nights, but nothing the next, I am trying to just roll with it!
Although at dinner out tonight she was a BEAR and normally a golden child!
She LOVES outside and playing, I just love this age!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: every stage is the best stage hehe! so cute that she says help me lol! K got better with eating now so def just phases that come and go! Just so hard to predict!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Yes, I taught her to say help.or help.me if she need something because she was screeching or gruning...lol but now she tells it in the morning...lol

M signed more for the first time yesterday while eating. Then at music class this morning, his teacher started to say all done & as soon as she said all, M goes done! He's getting better about picking up his toys, too. Also he put himself to bed tonight!
@josina: @winniebee: @snowjewelz: M has to go outside after dinner every night. He loves being outside too & got mad the other day that it was raining (rare occurrence here in AZ). He also has to wear his shoes all day long...he needs indoor shoes LOL.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@AngelicOne: Indoor shoes, we need those too!!!!
I hidshoes.... her shoes if she has her sneakers on and sees her sandals she demands those on, or sees her water shoes

@snowjewelz: in college i developed one small eczema spot on my left shin -- no idea why, and it never was anywhere else! it appeared most in the winter when it was super-dry and would be really itchy. usually went away in the spring once i got more sun on it.
@winniebee: ugh to the sickness! we went to the Y last week once and two days later, E had a raging cold. awesome.
@josina: good work on the pottying! E is acting super interested and motions that she wants to sit on the big one sometimes...as well as immediately telling us when she has pooped/peed in her diaper so we can change her, but i won't do anything serious about training until 2-2.5 at the earliest.
i've been MIA since we moved last friday -- between normal SAHM/kid stuff and 1st tri exhaustion, it's really hard to do anything except ADD to my to-do lists! last night for date night, DH and I went to dinner, Target, and Home Depot
E has been saying lots of hilarious words lately. i've lost count and don't track much, but my favorites are "ta da!" and "yeesh" (which, funny enough, means shoes).
my parents are coming tomorrow to help with the girls so that we can unpack/shop/whatever needs to be done with the house. it's supposed to be gorgeous, and our backyard fence should get completed today, so hoping to get some excellent outside playing in to break in our first full weekend here!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@AngelicOne: Sounds like M is doing awesome! K somehow has not been putting herself to sleep.. I don't know if it's b/c it's too light out now. I keep meaning to get black out blinds but haven't gotten around to it!
@FaithFertility: Haha! Maybe toddler slippers for inside?!
When K wants shoes on that just means she wants to go out... And it's STILL 50s and raining here
@KayKay: Huh.. Makes sense that it's lingering b/c it's cold and there hasn't been sun! It's so weird! Excited that you can enjoy the weekend in your new home!! I can't imagine how tired you must be with kids, moving and pregnancy!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: ta DA...... love it!!!!
How far along ate you again?!
Those first 12-13 weeks did me in!
At 16+ I am FINALLY feeling great again!!!
Awesome on the yard and fence! So much fun to see them explore!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: good to hear you're feeling better! i must either be pregnant or have the flu or something.. my body has been aching, my back hurts, and in general i feel like crap haha.
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: almost 9 weeks, so right in the thick of the exhausted/feeling lightly hungover all day long phase
@snowjewelz: or you're just getting old haha!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: E sat on the potty again last night and grunted but didn't actually go. It was super cute though lol. Of course then he decided he wanted to try to get IN to the toilet.
@AngelicOne: Pretty soon it will be 'more' everything!
@KayKay: Dinner, target, home depot sounds like a great date. Our last date was lunch, movie, menards.
@snowjewelz: ooo. Pregnant?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I doubt, I just feel like I am with the exhaustion/backache!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@josina: That's amazing that he went on the potty! It's pretty easy to tell when J is pooping. Maybe I should try that some time. Although... there's a certain convenience factor to diapers
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: That's such a cute image of her closing you in the room with her. Adorable. Sorry about the early mornings though - ugh.
@winniebee: I hope R is feeling better! We're right there with you in the toddler tantrums too. It's exhausting (and I'm not even pregnant!). I bet R will look so big when you bring the new baby home though - isn't that the way?
@josina: Yay for more words! Glad he's doing so well - that's such a pitiful image of him signing more please to go out in the rain
It makes me so sad when J uses the words or signs correctly and I can't give him what he wants. We're praying for sunshine over here! Such a cold, rainy week we're having!
@AngelicOne: Aw! Sounds like he's turning into such a big guy!
@KayKay: That sounds like a perfect date night I hope your weekend goes well!

Jack is doing well. He's picking up new words every few days which is really exiting! We finally have his first actual EI session tomorrow, so that's ironic I'm still glad we're doing it though.
He's sort of alternating between my sweet snuggly boy and crazy toddler tantrums. Most of the time it's blowing kisses and saying mama and all sorts of lovely things. Tonight he was just freaking out over everything. Wanting to be picked up, but only so that he can see what's up on the shelves and counters - and then melting down when he can't climb on them or take things off of them. Ugh.
I feel like it's getting even harder to keep him safe lately He wants to climb up on everything and is getting much more capable but still falling a lot. I called the ped for only the second time ever yesterday because he fell off our really high master bed straight on to his head and I thought he might need to go to the ER. She had me wake him to check on him overnight and he's fine of course. Keeping me on my toes though!

@winniebee: You don't happen to have a packing list from your recent beach vacation with two, do you? I'm starting to build my list as we leave in just over a week and if I can start with your list it would save me time! And on that same note, any great tips for travelling (air) with the young toddler?
@MrsF: Good luck with EI today.
@snowjewelz: Aging is hard. Especially with little ones to keep up with. I miss my youthful energy.
@KayKay: Good luck getting all settled in!
I'm gonna do a call out too - @Adira: @whenoceansrise: @theotherstark: How are those boys doing?
We are holding steady. K has a weird little rash below her lip. I think she's biting it/drooling as she's working on her canines. I don't really know what to do about it other than lather her up in some vanicream overnight. K is trying out some new words, she's trying to say "sister" and "Chloe". She's also taken to singing "la la la la, elmo's song". Oh joy! And her latest favorite activity? Chase!
She's also pretty sweet to her big sister (even though C is pretty consistently mean). She will take C's things to her (stuffed animal, shoes, clothes, etc) when she finds them laying on the floor. She's starting to learn which things are hers, and which are C's.

@MamaG: You're sweet to do a call-out! I keep failing at keeping up with the thread! Logan has that same rash under his lower lip too, so I think you might be right about the canines and/or drool. So cute with the singing!!!
Logan is doing well. We still have very limited words though. Just "Mama," "Dada," "Nana," and now "Cheers!" I think he's trying to say "Xander" too but it just sounds like "Nana" to me, so I can't really tell. He's also fully on solids now, besides pouches occasionally, though he won't eat fruits or vegetables AT ALL.

@MamaG: Hi! I keep up with this thread but seriously my life is so boring right now that I don't contribute much. Micah is doing great! His new thing is that he's learned what "tidying up" means and he'll put away his toys. See, my life is boring!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@whenoceansrise: Ha! It's an accomplishment. I tried to get K to help pick up last night. She just threw everything I had already picked up I finally banished her out of the room with her Dad so me and the older could pick up.
@Adira: The rash started as a few red spots and I immediately panicked and wondered if I missed a fever and we were on round two of HFM. I was checking her anxiously for a few days for any new spots.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: they really do keep us on our toes! Glad he is ok.. I do find that they are pretty sturdy and resilient!
@MamaG: Kara loves Elmo's world too! She doesn't care for the rest of Sesame Street though!
@Adira: Xander is prob so hard to say for kids! He will prob end up being "der", lol. It's a challenge here getting veggies in K too!
@whenoceansrise: haha, life cannot be boring with a toddler! It's great that they know how to clean up, except then they move onto making the next mess!
I took today and tomorrow off.. Spend half the day with DH today and help DH with K tomorrow. Thank God my mom is coming back this weekend!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Yeah, I don't think Xander could even say his name until around 2.5, so I'm not surprised Logan can't pronounce it yet!

@MamaG: I fully have a packing list as a note on my iphone....I'll copy and paste it here later Our flight was 4 hours. Honestly T was easy on the flights. We flew jet blue and he was happy with books and snacks and 3 hours of TV
R was great on the way there....he'd never flown so was intrigued by it all. And then books and snacks and ice in a cup were good distractions. He slept 40 mins. And watched a little bit of ipad, but not much. Only had to walk the aisels for 10 mins
My best advice is bring new and different snacks and dress her in dark clothes that can't stain for the plane. New snacks we brought - Annie's gummies, m and ms, flavored mini rice cakes, bunny cookies.
@MrsF: glad things are picking up for him! Right on time I can't keep ryan safe at all times. He just has to learn. I was making dinner and he climbed on the couch and did a 360 off the side of it.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: Our flight is just over two hours, I need to load up the tablet with some videos for C. I don't think it will hold K's attention much. I worry more about K on this flight as she's flying on my lap and she's not too interested in sitting these days.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: yeah Ryan is the same. The saving grace was cousins were sitting in front of us and they had a spare seat, so big bro went and sat with them and then R technically had his own seat. He spent a lot of time standing in it playing peekaboo with people behind us. 2 hours really isn't bad though. The first 30 mins she will be intrigued, the next 30 mins do books and snacks (I also brought mini pom poms and an empty water bottle and he worked on putting them in and taking them out. Then you've got 30 mins of messing around with the ipad (you opening an app and her messing it up) and then only 30 more mins....walk the aisles a few times and then you are descending Ryan liked the drawing app Doo Doo Lite on our computer as well as Monkey Preeschool Lunchbox (old favorite here) and Peekaboo Barn. He watched about 15 mins of Yo Gabba Gabba / Bubble Guppies.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Haha I swung by IKEA and got a potty since we were on the topic. I think she thinks it's a chair, lol.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@MrsF: I'm a horrible mom - h is always climbing and jumping and falling and sliding all over the place. I think it's just inevitable, and I let him do it because I don't think he will learn otherwise he will figure it out eventually, I hope. No more climbing out of his crib after that first time, though, thankfully!!
@MamaG: thanks so much for checking in!! Not much new here. I've been doing sleep training for the past week or so. He is still waking up at night, but is doing much better with getting himself back to sleep. Yay for progress.
@whenoceansrise: love it! H helps when I sing the clean up song, but then when it's all put away, he then starts taking toys out again. Ha.
@snowjewelz: haha too funny!
