@MamaG: THREE! That's crazy! So sorry that K has to be in the middle of this
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: Thats what I'm afraid of with #2! E is rambunctious enough on his own.
Sorry about the biting at daycare. What a tough situation!

@josina: K will say her name when prompted which is the most adorable thing ever!
She's also started wanting a fork to eat which she calls a "poon". She isn't that successful with it, but will sometimes surprise me. Although I've found its easier at times to stab things with a fork and then let her do the rest.

@snowjewelz: Hope K is feeling better!!!!!
@josina: G sings Twinkle Twinkle with me and says "Cumin Mama" lol her version of Come on Mama!!!!!!
@Miss Ariel: G says "Poon" too

@Miss Ariel: Lol, there are times I'd rather not give E an utensil because dinner goes so much faster!
So cute that she knows her name!
@FaithFertility: Come on Mama! Lol. Too cute.

Hey all! Checking in from grand cayman island! We are here with my whole family, siblings their kids stc. 15 people in a big house. As you all probably know by know, vacation with kids is not a vacation, but we are still having fun!

@winniebee: so jealous! Well be taking a long weekend in Florida with my inlaws over Fourth of July, but it's not quite the same.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Miss Ariel: thanks! I've been nervous because though zika isn't here, well, you know. I haven't seen a mosquito yet though.
nectarine / 2210 posts
@winniebee: understandable! Mosquitos are all over Louisiana! Thankfully no one has caught it here yet, although it's predicted to be here this summer. I did talk to my dr, and her response was basically you can't live in a bubble, but where bug spray. She did mention it was most dangerous in the first trimester, which thankfully is pretty much past.

@Miss Ariel: Yeah, my OB just reccomends spray and staying away from standing water areas at dusk, lakes, beach, rivers field etc....
FL is still clear as far as a I know but mosquitoes are EVERYWHERE!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@FaithFertility: yeah, my doctor didn't even mention standing water, because it's basically everywhere. It rains so often you can't avoid it.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: @Miss Ariel: yeah mine was like it's fine, it's not there yet. Just wear deet and limit time outside at night and don't hike in the forest etc. I have a crazy sunburn now though because I slather on the 30, then the deet and the deet I think washes away the sunscreen! I've read it's most risky in first tri as well, though a concern anytime in pregnancy. I'm 13 weeks now. I hope it stays far away from FL and LA!

@winniebee: Have fun! We're going to FL in July & I hope to take M to the ocean.
M is trying to talk so badly. He's saying "cheese", "keys" "this" "these", which all sound the same right now, so we have to use context to decipher it. LOL
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Enjoy! Looks amazing!!!
@FaithFertility: K's better! No fever. Still pretty cranky, so in the end I have no idea what that was about, haha
This zika is very worrying! I wasn't even thinking about it, but if I hope to be pregnant in Aug, when mosquitos are probably worst, I prob need to be really careful
pomegranate / 3973 posts
My DH is worried about ZIKA and we're in Iowa with no plans to go south. Its just scary in general when we're planning on getting pregnant this summer.
@AngelicOne: Love all the words.
@winniebee: Hope you have a great vacation, kiddos and all!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Exactly! I had saved a bunch of recommended "safe" repellent, I'm gonna order them now before summer hits and they start selling out!!

@Miss Ariel: Enjoy Pensacola, we went two years ago and loved it. We are heading to PCB this year (in three weeks!).

So jealous of all these vacations! We'll probably just do many day trips throughout the summer. But I'm very excited to go to the beach, zoo and aquarium! I'm also hoping to finally go into Manhattan... K takes the city!

@snowjewelz: You want to go in my place? The thought of managing two kids on poorly timed flights and at the beach for a week just makes my heart race. As @winniebee: said, vacations just aren't the same after kids. I won't even bother to pack a book to read, I know it won't happen.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MamaG: haha, I agree about the not packing a book lol!
Since I never took K to Asia so far, I will either be taking her across the world while pregnant, or with an infant in the future. I am NOT looking fwd to this one & only vacation we'll have, lol!
nectarine / 2210 posts
@MamaG: this will be our first time there. We've normally gone to Destin, but my mil wasn't able to find anywhere to stay this time.
We'll be going with my mil, fil, sil, and her two kids that are 8 and 6.... So hopefully with all the extra hands it will still be a little relaxing???

@Miss Ariel: Pensacola is certainly closer for you too! We stayed at Perdido Key and I can't say enough great things about it. We were right on the AL/FL border and could go to Orange Beach and Gulf Shores for all of the touristy/commercialized things but have total peace at the beach. We like to go the week before Memorial Day, it's a touch cool but the last week before peak season. Cheaper prices and less people.
I have a feeling I won't enjoy PCB as much. So many more people.

@snowjewelz: my parents took me to Europe when I was 12 months old and always had good things to say about the trip. One of which was my mom saying it was different than every other trip to Europe they've taken because they had to follow my schedule. So it is at least possible to do!

@Miss Ariel: I know it is! I just don't really want to think about it, haha!

@josina: J is doing really well with signs too - and I feel so bad when he signs properly and I can't give him what he's asking for! He's also picked up a few new words, which is awesome.
and yikes about the climbing! I'm proud of J with all that he's learning how to climb and terrified too!

@snowjewelz: glad K is feeling better! I hope she's even more herself soon.
@MamaG: Oh the biting situation must be horrible! I can't believe you had to go through so much with C and now K.
@winniebee: I'm so jealous of your trip (cold and rainy here today)! I hope that it's as fun and relaxing as it could be with your LOS!

I had a minor surgery on my hand yesterday so I'm struggling with not lifting anything (or anyone!) for a while. I wouldn't have been able to do it but DH was able to take the week off of work (he has finals for his grad program so he'll be studying) to help me with the manual labor around here.
I had the same surgery on my other wrist 5 years ago and I don't remember much about the recovery, but of course my life was TOTALLY different then
