@Adira: Awww! Can't wait till I get a smile from Ethan like that. Right now he's happier to see his balloon when he gets home! Huge smile as soon as he sees it.

@MrsF: It did!! I remember with Xander, that whole first week he started daycare, I wondered if he even knew who I was when I was picking him up. Having Logan smile at me is just so satisfying!
@josina: I hope Ethan gives you those big grins soon! It took Xander FOREVER to actually be excited to see me. As he got older, he actually would cry as soon as I showed up because he wanted to stay at daycare. It wasn't until ~15 months that he actually started getting excited when I showed up. I really HOPE Ethan gets excited for you a lot sooner!!!

I attempted to put Ethan to bed early tonight... Nursed at 8 and laid him in his rock and play awake at 9... He laid there for 45 minutes making his noises until he started fussing, wide awake! Nursing again now and hoping he falls asleep! Can't believe he wasn't more tired since he's been up since 6.

I've now been up for 2 hrs, 12:30 - 2:30. First time since his first night home that Ive had to get up and rock him back to sleep, he was was wide awake for an hour. Boo. Finally asleep again so hopefully he stays that way when I lay him back down

Thanks everyone! Daddy decided to work from home to ease my million anxiety since we're supposed to get a little snow, then I start freaking out that my mom would be driving her one way for the first time, worried about whether she'll do the carseat right, etc etc lol so DH is like let me just stay home you are going nuts!
At least I got some morning snuggles and smiles from her... Nursed her at like 6:30 and cuddled for a while.
Haven't cried yet! Got a little teary... Coworkers decorated my cube and there's a giant pic of her taped to my monitor.
Going to go to pump soon...!

@snowjewelz: Sounds exactly like our night! Up every 2.5-3hrs. I think it's because he's getting too big for the swaddle blankets, do he's breaking out of them more easily and waking himself up. Gaaah. Hope you have a great first day back!!

It's snowing again here. I am SO done with winter! I hate taking so long to get H bundled up for walking the dog when It is freezing out, and the sidewalks are covered in snow and ice. Sorry, feeling crabby today!

@Adira: Could be! That's why I was so adamant on keep trying to feed her so she gets full feeds during the day. But then again, most of the time when she got up she didn't need to eat so I still nursed her twice at 2am and 6am. I just have to accept she is a bad sleeper for now!

@theotherstark: Are you planning to transition him to something else? She is not swaddled at all anymore b/c I didn't see a difference. But then lately she almost wakes herself sucking her thumb (she doesn't get in in her mouth every time lol) so I'm wondering if I need to re-try but I don't want her to get mad!

I am.about ready to swaddle G again, her hands are crazy, she goes nuts trying to suck them....lolBut she hated it then and probably will flip a lid now!!!!

fail it went a tad better but then she got hysterical.....I'm letting him calm her before I jump in to feed her! Gahhhh.....we will keep going!
DH says jokingly why would she want it from a bottle when she can have it from the tap....it is just like beer.....lol.Men! -

@snowjewelz: that's so nice of your co-workers! and having some daddy daycare today should make you feel at least a little better
hang in there!so i know this is a weird "problem" to have, but i feel like E sleeps a LOT during the day. she also sleeps 7a-7p ish (with 1-2 feeds) at night, so it doesn't seem to be interfering. but yesterday she napped for 1 hr (9a-10a), 3 hrs (11a-2p), and then 1.5 hrs (4p-530p). normal? high sleep needs? at this point, K was going to daycare and taking 2 or 3 terrible, short naps most of the time because of all of the stimulation, so my comparisons aren't exact.

@KayKay: I have no idea but can say G usually does 1-1.5 hr nap in morning(today from.9-10:15 ish) maybe a few cap naps from 12-3 ish like 30-40 mins and another longer nap around 4 ish for about an hr ...her bed routine seems to be bed 8-8:30 5hr stretch then 3 and 3 on her good nights

@KayKay: I think some babies just have high sleep needs! Mine doesn't seem to sleep a lot!

No luck last night on Ethan sleeping... Thus morning I checked his temp because he is NOT a cryer and it was 101.5, so to the Dr. We went. So far they're thinking just a cold and gave him some tylonal, but they swabbed his nose to test for a virus. Fingers crossed. Home now and he's not crying anymore so tylonal must be working.
Only made it 3 days at daycare!
Luckily dh is coming home today so I'll have help tonight/tomorrow if we have a repeat.@KayKay: That sounds pretty similar to Ethan except he doesn't go down for the night till closer to 9:30.
@snowjewelz: Hope you have a good first day an yay for daddy daycare.
