@MamaG: Haha! I def want to erase coxsackie/HFM from existence! I don't mind them getting sick.. But it's SO hard to watch them go through so much pain and not understand why.

AJ at only 4 weeks is so different than I ever remember G! I feel like everything I thought I knew is out the window hahah

I think we need to sleep train again. Sleep has sucked since at least the time change and I can't take these hour long fights. Heck it's a cry fest from the time we get home at 6:00 because I think she's over tired chronically. So yes I've now listened to her cry for 1:40 minutes while DH cooked dinner, we tried to eat, did bath, etc.

Not sure if it's somewhere else, but wanted to offer up a huge CONGRATULATIONS to @Sandy!

@MamaG: That sounds awful! We're not adjusted here either, bed time isn't so bad, at least it's earlier than it was, but he's up at 5 am most days. @snowjewelz: Glad she is eating finally! Poor girl, and mama!!

  11. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@FaithFertility: I am preparing to feel that way too since every kid is different! And honestly I don't even remember what I did haha!

@MamaG: I've had to hold/rock Kara to sleep all these days, and we took away the pacifier, so I'm just praying and hoping she can get back to normal by herself without pacifier too after this coxsackie fiasco!

@Adira: yes! Sorry it was posted on the FB group yesterday!

@MamaG: sorry, definitely hard when she was such a good sleeper!

@snowjewelz: Yep, I thought I would remember.... Nope just all seems so new!

  14. MamaG

@FaithFertility: @snowjewelz: No joke on sort of starting all over with the second. The one thing I felt was like I was more confident in some of my decisions the second time and I was probably a lot more relaxed. But they really are all different and the sleep deprivation of newborn days really does wipe a lot out of your memory!

More sleep whining... at 4:45 this morning she was in her crib, persistent about a "nose wipe". I got her back to sleep. At 6:20 comes more whining. This time her persistent chant was "I out, watch tv". This is the kid that won't actually sit to watch tv. What happened to my 7:20p - 7:00 sleeper.

So on that topic, what are your kids sleeping these days?

  16. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@MamaG: G goes to bed with no issues what so ever around 7:30-7;45
She will sleep usually until 6:30-7 with MOTN wakes maybe 2-3 times a week which are to come into our bed ...which I love but now with AJ it isn't good for any of us...
We hear her roll around and bang into the side of her crib which is when about 5-10 minutes later she is up banging on the door to come out!

We today put together a full big girl bed in hopes it will give her more room and help her stay in?!

AJ is such a cuddle baby LOVES to be held we have many nights of chest sleeping ....lol

@FaithFertility: it's been crazy how quickly time is flying. J will be one month tomorrow which is hard to believe. I think because with K I could just kind of sit and savour, but know there's just so much else going on.

@FaithFertility: That's tough I think in a way the first couple of months are so different from the rest of infancy and toddlerhood. We survive them and forget everything that we learned! I hope things are feeling a little easier soon!

  22. winniebee

@MamaG: Ugh sounds dreadful!! We have had a few rough patches with teeth and illness. In general, R sleeps from 8-7 and takes a 2 hour nap. However, he only naps for an hour or 90 mins at school so on those nights he is in bed by 7/7:30 and will sleep til 6:30 or 7. He still takes a pacifier at night though!!!

With all of the Thanksgiving prep and packing up to go to NY in the morning it's sneaking up on me that my little guy is turning two tomorrow! Man, I love that kid

(and now I'm going to cry - pregnancy hormones...)

  24. MamaG

    pomelo / 5298 posts

@winniebee: Funny you mention the pacifier. K chews on the tags of jellycat animals. She has too many in her crib and they get discarded once she deems them too wet. With her shenanigans lately they are all dismissed before she goes to sleep and she has nothing left to snuggle with. Every morning they are in a big heap at the end of the crib (and nicely dry from being there so long). I think she'd love her pacifier still.

@MrsF: Happy Birthday! It hits me in the feels every darn birthday. How are they growing so fast?

@MrsF: aww I hear you! I look at G and she seems so big these days!!!!
Life with 2 is just hectic....lol... But wouldn't trade it for the world

@MrsF: Happy birthday J! E & M are up next! Hard to believe M will be 2 already.

@MamaG: M goes to bed at 7:30 still (out by 7:45 ish) and gets up around 7-7:30am usually.

  28. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

The great thing that came out of this week long coxsackie thing is that we got rid of her pacifier! And her sleep is completely back to normal! Horraaay!

I finally moved all of her clothes/things into her room, but she is still sleeping with us at night. On one hand we really should move her, but on the other hand we all just want some good sleep before DD2 comes...

  29. whenoceansrise

    nectarine / 2053 posts

@MamaG: Sleep is not good here! We NEED to sleep train again but I dread it. He doesn't go down until around 9:00 and always ends up in our bed and I get kicked and punched all night long.

  30. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@whenoceansrise: We moved bed time back too... She used to be asleep by 8:30 but now she doesn't go to bed till closer to 9 and is asleep by 9:30 the latest. So now she wakes up between 7-7:30 instead.

We had our two year well visit yesterday. She's now 37 inches tall! When I grumbled to the dr about sleep he said normal is 8-12 hours per night. He wasn't terribly sympathetic.

And for fun K has another cold with a junky cough. I finally went to the dr for my cough. Bronchitis and I was sent for a chest X-ray as well since I've been coughing for over a month. Y'all we need a deep freeze in Texas, stat!

  32. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@snowjewelz: So glad K is on the up and up and seems back to normal!!!

If you can move her now I say you might be surprised....the nights G wakes and wants to come to our bed with AJ in there are so long and we don't get the best sleep

I think you did say something about having a bed in LO#2 room that will definetly help

Her big girl bed seems to have helped a lot
Dare I say we are on a good sleep front these days!!!!
She likes it calls it her big girl bed and took my pillow in there as hers so maybe that helps too!!

@whenoceansrise: Gahhh G is the same like a drunk octopus when she sleeps
    All over the place

  33. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@MamaG: Man I am so sorry with all the sickness!!!!

K is so tall!!! We have our apt the 23rd I am thinking to re schedule as so close to Christmas I don't watch a fussy reaction from shots

  34. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@MamaG: Oyy! Hope you feel better! Kara is a 10 hour sleeper through and through!

@FaithFertility: She loooves her room and bed... We were going to move her at night this past long weekend but then she was sick, and now she's a stage 5 clinger
My mom said if I'm at the hospital overnight before birth, she will just bring an air mattress and sleep next to her.

  35. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@snowjewelz: awwwww!!! I have a stage 5 clinger these days too
Post traumatic big sis syndrome I call it......lol
She wants me to do EVERYTHING!

  36. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

@FaithFertility: Haha! After dinner, I literally walk 10 steps away from the living room to get something and I hear "MOMMY!!!! MOMMY!!!" In her sleep she will yell mommy too and then scoot closer to cuddle... I mean it's sweet but a little space please!? She refused to go to Sunday school and when DH brought her back to me, she smushed her face into mine and practically strangled my neck holding on for dear life...

    @snowjewelz: aww sweet girl!!!

I'm so behind! Between my parents coming into town for a week, Es birthday, the holiday, and 2 different sicknesses, I'm way out of it. But I think we are finally coming around (although E is still home from school today) and settling back into things before Baby 3 gets here

@faithfertility: 2nd baby was definitely different than the first! I felt confident that I knew a bunch of things to try, even if it wasn't the same things that worked this time around. and yes, it goes so much faster!

@mamag: sleep here is still the same as it has been -- pretty much 7ish-7ish with a 2+hr nap. shorter nap when she is at school for sure, though. and with the holidays, bedtime was later, but she slept later too.

we have E's wellcheck tomorrow, although I'm going to put off the vax since she has had a fever/cough/GI thing in the last 3 days. but her normal doc books out so fast that if we cancelled, we couldn't get back in til jan! so this way we just have to follow-up with the lab/nurses.

ummm...what else?! Baby 3 is full-term and could come anytime!

    @KayKay: So exciting for #3
    Hope all goes well!!!
What the heck is a toddler 2hr nap?!?!?
I would think G was gone!
    45Mins-hr TOPS HERE!!!
