    @Adira: YAAAY good job mama And with the hunger inducing meds too!

    @whenoceansrise: Aww.. I hope he can get better!

    @snowjewelz: Glad you had a great bday!
    @Adira: Yay for a great appointment! I think I was up 4 lbs in 2 weeks but I'm taking 1 off for my coat.

    Nothing new here so hopefully baby is staying put and I'll just be walking around dilated for awhile! Lots of Target packages coming Monday-Wednesday next week though and things squared away at work for the most part so at least I'm (more) ready.

    Hoping to hit Target in-store Saturday/Sunday and get some more cute outfits for baby and some nursing stuff for me. Of course I don't know what size to buy?! How much newborn do I need / how fast will they usually grow out of newborn sizes?

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @josina: I've been asking that question too! I already have like at least 6 new born things that are hand me downs, and another 2 footies that are gifts, so I only bought a Christmas outfit. I don't anticipate a big baby, but if you have a lot of new clothes, I just wouldn't take the tag off and wash ALL of them. Or maybe try to buy the 0-3 instead of NB.

    @whenoceansrise: Oh my gosh, that's heartbreaking! I don't think I could work in anything with sick or hurt children. I would just cry all the time.

    @josina: Oh yeah, I always assume my clothes really weigh like 5 lbs, haha. And I'm not sure my advice on sizing will be helpful since Xander was a big baby. He was born 8 lbs 14 oz and wore NB sizes for about 2 weeks. I'm guessing smaller babies can wear NB sizes for longer... And assume they'll go through like 3 outfits a day!

    We got the stroller and car seat out and ready last night! Excuse the messy house, but I'm glad we went with the red!

    What is everyone doing for thanksgiving? I can't decide... I'm thinking about getting a premade meal from grocery store since I don't want to commit to hours of cooking when I could possibly be in labor.

    @whenoceansrise: Nice stroller!

    @josina: Aghh the newborn clothes dilemma... the best answer is who knows? You may have a small baby and need lots of newborn clothes or you may have a big baby and need none. A good idea is to look at how much you weighed when you were born and your DH, that will give you some idea of the size. I had my son at 34 weeks and he was in preemie for weeks and newborn for months. This baby is going to be bigger, so my guess is she will skip preemie and go straight to newborn. It's a crap shoot.. good news is you can easily order more newborn clothes once your LO is born. I remember ordering preemie clothes from the hospital after LO was born.

    @BandDmommy: We usually have thanksgiving at my grandma's house and my mom will be coming into town so they will be doing all of th cooking. I've been dreaming of thanksgiving food for months!

    @Adira: Sounds like a great appointment! Nice.

    @whenoceansrise: That is so sad I've been super hormonal lately too. Stroller is looking good! Love the red.

    @BandDmommy: We don't have family nearby either, although we've always just considered Thanksgiving to be "our" holiday. If we don't have anyone over (which we won't this year since it's a week before my due date), we always just cook for ourselves anyway. So we'll be doing the whole shebang, although I'll probably make my husband do most of the cooking I just hope I can eat more than a few bites at that point!

    @whenoceansrise: Yay! So exciting!!

    @BandDmommy: We're planning on going to my parents house, so no cooking for us. If anything, I'll make dessert, but that's all. If you're staying at home, I'd definitely opt for something pre-made! That will be like our Christmas - we're just planning on ordering Chinese, haha.

    So just finished cleaning out most of the garage! I think now both Hubs and I will be able to access both sides of our cars. Also finished putting away all of Xander's old clothes and out of season clothes. I'm taking a break and then I'll be tackling cleaning the master bedroom!

    @BandDmommy: Oh, I wanted to say too - one reason why I'm still pushing to do a full dinner even though it's just the two of us (! ha) is that it means we'll have tons of leftovers. And I know that I am not going to want to cook much that week leading up to my due date. So hopefully the leftovers will carry us through for a little while Then again, it's entirely possible, I guess, that this little guy will come early and we won't do a Thanksgiving dinner. Who knows! I'm feeling flexible at this point.

    @Adira: Nice! Love those times of productivity.

  13. BandDmommy

    pomelo / 5660 posts

    @theotherstark: the leftovers are definitely the tempting part!! I'm thinking about getting the turkey dinner from Wegmans. wegmans!!

  14. josina

    pomegranate / 3973 posts

    @BandDmommy: I'm leaning towards small baby, both DH and I were in the 6 lbs 5 oz range, and we were both early. Now that this baby is leaning towards early too I may need to pick up a couple premie outfits too just in case?
    Sounds like I need a LOT more newborn clothes though.

    I actually offered to host 2 thanksgivings this year!! Nothing is final but I was thinking it'd be better than traveling, and we just put in a brand new kitchen so will be fun to get to use it/ show it off. We'll see what happens though as we get closer.

    pomegranate / 3045 posts

    @BandDmommy: Ah, Wegmans is the best! Their chocolate cake is my favorite thing in the world. Probably smart to get a turkey dinner from them!! Then you get the leftovers without actually dealing with the cooking

    @Adira: wow you are on a roll! Good job on weight gain! Yesterday my nurse took 2 lbs off for my frye cowboy boots. I weighed them today and they are almost 3 lbs!!!

    @BandDmommy: assuming in not in labor and we don't have the baby, we are going to Nh for the weekend (1.5 hrs away). Not sure if it's a dumb move but it's the plan. I will only be 37 wks so hopefully it works out.

  17. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @whenoceansrise: I agree! The red pops! We have the same thing you have but in sandstone.

    @BandDmommy: We either will do nothing, or I'd rather drive an hour to my parents than to have ppl over and worry about cleaning up, etc. I'd probably also ask for it to be more of a lunch or early afternoon thing...

    @Adira: You are on a roll!

    @josina: You are ambitious! I get way too OCD about cleaning up if we have gathering at my house; at this point it's better for me to just go somewhere else haha!

    @BandDmommy: I love thanksgiving leftovers!

    For the past 3 years we have hosted Thanksgiving with both sets of grandparents and our siblings and a random family friend or two. This year we already planned to get dinner catered or pick up a prepped meal from a store. Obviously now that A is coming early we aren't really making any big Thanksgiving plans. My inlaws are going to take care of making a meal so LO can have a nice thanksgiving at home and will bring leftovers to us. There is also a Metropolitan Market right by the hospital too where we might order a prepped meal

    @sandy: I'm glad you guys are still doing something! I hope you are feeling okay as your date approaches!

    So I will be getting my strep b test next week. I found out with GD, they don't want me to go past 40 weeks so I would be induced if I went over. I hope she comes naturally! She also went from 4lbs 8oz to 5lbs 6oz in a week?!

    Want to share this pic bc she NEVER shows her face this clearly!

    @snowjewelz: what a sweet face!

    I am getting anxious. My mom group hosted a brunch for me yesterday and we went to play gym today and we all realized it's the last day I'll see my friends for awhile. C has school M-W next week and then I go to the hospital first thing Thursday morning (check in is at 6am and surgery at 8am)

    @snowjewelz: too cute!!

    @Adira: you go girl!

    @josina: I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to pick up one or two preemie outfits. I liked Carter's for preemie clothing.

    @sandy: It seems like you are Ava are in very good hands from all your updates with the doctors/specialists/what not. We will be thinking of you for sure! I hope you are able to just spend some time with LO1`and as a family of 3! We are all looking forward to Ava's arrival!!

    @sandy: I always love to see you check in - I can't believe how soon you'll meet little Ava! It sounds like you have a great support network of family and friends, and your doctors sound fantastic as well. I volunteered at Children's when I was younger, and have family members and friends that worked/work there, so Ava will be in very capable hands there. Children's is great. I am thinking about you so much these days! Hope you guys are doing okay. A prepped meal from Metropolitan Market for Thanksgiving sounds awesome

    @snowjewelz: Look at that sweet little face!! Love it!! Oh man, 3d ultrasounds usually creep me out, but this is such a great shot! You can definitely see her little features. Cutie pie

    @theotherstark: thank you. I will update you all when she arrives.

    I'm thinking of all of your sweet babies too and can't wait to "meet" them!

    @whenoceansrise: I know, it's the only pic through out this whole pregnancy that she doesn't look like a creepy creature! It's not even as exciting anymore since we're about to meet her anyway!

    @snowjewelz: I know, we're going to have to have another ultrasound to check how big Micah is because there are some indicators that he's a big baby and I agree- it's not really that exciting anymore because we are getting so close to actually getting to meet our babies!

    @Adira: Great news! I'm so impressed that your hardly gained weight on prednisone especially! Glad to see that the prednisone is helping your platelets

    @whenoceansrise: I hear you on the pregnancy hormones.. that would have made me sob . So sad!

    @josina: glad to hear that your LO is staying put so far! M was 5lbs 4oz at 36 weeks and we never really needed preemie clothes. Just used NB clothes for longer. It doesn't really matter much if they're a little big.

    @BandDmommy: Not sure about thanksgiving here. My EDD is only 4 days after thanksgiving, so I could be hugely pregnant and miserable, have a baby born early or be in the hospital and totally miss it (my parents would celebrate with M). We usually go to my aunt and uncle's and they know we will be an unknown.

    @sandy: Glad to hear from you!

    @snowjewelz: That's a great picture! I had an ultrasound on Monday and I didn't even really see anything that resembled a baby. Too close up at this point!

    @winniebee: Those are heavy boots!!!

    @sandy: How are you feeling about baby coming next week?? Are you nervous? Glad you're not doing any work for Thanksgiving and that people are providing you meals!! I hope everything goes as smoothly as expected for you and baby Ava and that she does really well!!!

    @snowjewelz: Ahhh!!! Looking like a real baby in there!! So exciting! Hopefully you won't have to be induced because of the GD.

    Ugh girls, I'm pooped! Just did some serious cleaning of the master bedroom. It's still kind of a disaster, but I finally went through ALL my old clothes and donated/trashed a bunch and organized the rest. Cleared out a space next to the bed for the bassinet as well. I'm glad I got a lot done today because we're busy both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

    @MrsF: I'm AMAZED at my weight gain, especially because I've been eating Halloween candy like there's no tomorrow! I'm wondering if maybe last time's weight gain was actually inaccurate. I was up 5 lbs at the last appointment, so between these two appointments, I've gained 6 lbs in 8 weeks, which is probably accurate.

  36. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @Adira: I think sometimes it depends on what we ate/drank, clothes we're wearing, degree of bloating... etc etc! But hey take it and feel great about yourself, and eat more candy
