@theotherstark: @littlek: Yeah, I don't know why they have me in so early! But I triple checked and this u/s is covered so I'm like, okay, guess I'll go! If I see any development at all from last week I'll be happy!

@winniebee: I think it's definitely possible for morning sickness to start early but it's more common around 6 weeks. Hope you feel better!

@winniebee: Aww, I'm sorry you weren't feeling well Are you better this morning?
And love the progression pics!! Those are always fun.
@littlek: Thank you! How have you been? I know you said you were sick a few days ago - feeling any better?
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@theotherstark: still the same. It all relates to smell and food aversion. Unfortunately weird things set it off. I can't open the fridge because I'm overwhelmed by the smells and makes me sick to my stomach.
@winniebee: I love seeing the progression. I stopped testing when the control was darker than the test line.

So, lots of information from my OB visit.
1) It is too early to see much still. She sees a larger gestational sag. I'm going back next week and if they don't see anything in the sac there might be an issue
2) Blood work # last time was low but consistent with how early if was. They took more blood today, really hoping for higher #s!
3) I have a weird uterus. Normally it's around thing and the baby grows in the middle. Mine is like heart shaped and activity is on the left side. OB said I'm at a higher risk for miscarriage due to this. But she also has patients like me that deliver healthy babies at full term so it's hard to tell but this is why she wants to see me every week
I feel very anxious, but also glad to have information. I know I have no control over it so I just have to have faith in this pregnancy!

@snowjewelz: hmmm, sounds like a lot to digest. Hopefully you will be able to see something next week.
FYI- I have heart shaped uterus and was able to carry a baby fine. Lots of women have them.

@snowjewelz: Don't stress!! It's great she saw a larger sac today, and hopefully you will see a little bub in there next week You're still so flippin' early.
And I hope those numbers keep going up!!

@MrsScallop: Welcome & congrats!
@snowjewelz: Hope you get to see something next week!

@littlek: Really?? Yay! I didn't ask the OB if it's common, she did say a lot of patients of hers that had it were fine. Just scary to hear!
@MrsScallop: Congrats again! So good to see you here

@theotherstark: I am sooo thirsty too! Totally addicted to h20. I don't think there is any harm in drinking tons of water? I find it helps with the queasiness that hits me mid day also...
Thanks for all the updates and the calendar. I have another appt this Mon the 14th to get bloodwork results back, fx all is normal...
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@snowjewelz: my OB never even mentioned it. I found our when I had US at hospital. The tech just mentioned it while going through the US. There's no proof it causes any issues.

@snowjewelz: I think I've seen a few posts on HB about oddly-shaped uterus' (uteri?? )? I'm not sure if it's common, since I don't know much about them, but it definitely doesn't sound super rare or anything! I know it's hard not to stress out, but I'm sure things will be fine
@magnolia: Ahh, glad I'm not the only one! It's really crazy how much I'm drinking at this point. And since I'm drinking a lot of sparkling water, I think it's been helping a lot with some of the milder nausea. Not today, though.
FX for your results!!

@littlek: Interesting... My OB said the tech noticed it (this is my 3rd u/s I've ever had in my life, all with them actually haha) and called her in to check. I guess she just wants me to better understand just in case? She was drawing me these uterus pictures haha and DH was there and he was like huh... interesting.
Afterwards he told me the womb is not as interesting as he thought, hahaha. Esp without a visible baby inside!
@theotherstark: Thanks lady!! I have never heard of it before so I def was nervous! My first thought was, post on HB about it asap!! Haha.
You guys are so good to drink so much water! I def need to drink even more than I do now (which is already more than I used to drink...)

i'm so happy to see this thread is so active - our december 2013 thread just never really took off! but it was exactly one year ago today i got my BFP and i can't believe i have a 4 month old! I have LOVED having a december baby...so excited for all of you!
apricot / 348 posts
@snowjewelz: how interesting about the heart shaped womb! I was told I have a tilted uterus but I have no idea what that means and have no inclination to find out as I have a feeling it can effect birth... We'll see!
On another note, it is the end of an era here. I have been blond since I was 17 (highlighted) and my sister persuaded me that bleaching my hair while pregnant is bad so I just got some organic hair dye and have dyed it brown!!! Can't actually believe it! My husband has never seen me dark so he is going to be shocked! At least I won't have to get my roots done now, Or when I have a newborn.
Ps - I don't want to offend anyone who dyes their hair. There is no evidence that it does any harm I'm sure. My sister is a complete hippy and I did it more for convenience and I fancied a change. It's still in the towel. I'm scared to look!
@MrsScallop: welcome!
@Pirouette: how strange that the last December board was quiet! This one is getting very full! It's hard to keep track and I'm on holiday with lots of time on my hands! Lovely that we have so many mums here!

@Mrs.Lilac: I truly have no idea why! great group of girls, we just all dropped the ball on checking the group, haha. hope you dig your new hair color!!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: how do you like it? I'm going to still keep getting my hair colored, my OB says it's fine.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Mrs.Lilac: I have a tilted uterus (or at least had one with my son) and it had no bearing on pregnancy or birth. It's just a normal anatomical variation
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Pirouette: Thanks for visiting us! I feel like we are major chatter bugs here haha. It's great to hear that you loved having your Dec baby!!
@Mrs.Lilac: Woo! New chapter in life, new hair color! Thanks for the encouragerment! I have no idea what to make of it and haven't had time to do my usual google research haha
apricot / 348 posts
@littlek: I actually really like it! Thank goodness! Gonna send a picture to my hubby! I'm sure he will like it. If not, there isn't much he can do
@winniebee: good to know about the uterus! Thanks.
@snowjewelz: be careful when googling, you know what it's like I'm sure, you always hear the horror stories and the negative things. That's why I'm refusing to even read a post or board related to MC. I just don't want or need to know any more than I already do. I'm a natural worrier as it is!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@snowjewelz: just to make you feel better my RE said the same thing as my OB, it's not a big deal. There are lots of variations in uterus shape. Try not to worry and definitely don't google!!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@littlek: @Mrs.Lilac: Hahaha okay ladies, I won't google! You have talked me off the ledge lol. I'm EXHAUSTED today and away this weekend is hopefully I won't even think about it! I hope all you mamas have an awesome weekend!!

Is anyone else incapable of napping? My son is at school and I really need some sleep after last night, but just can't. Grrrr.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: I would love a nap right now... I am so tired! I generally don't like napping though; I hate the feeling of waking up from a nap and feeling even more tired!
Me too... My only comfort is that I know I'm not as far along as the apps say b/c O was late so the timeline still make sense.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@littlek: Ha, it's crazy, right??
@Pirouette: Awww! I can't wait to have a December baby.
@Mrs.Lilac: I'm no longer highlighting my hair either. I'm sure it's totally fine, but I'm a paranoid crazy and would rather be safe than sorry My hair is naturally a darker blonde, so it hopefully won't look too terrible when I stop highlighting. I'm sure your new color looks fabulous!
@snowjewelz: Step away from the Google!! I hope you have a nice weekend away, and that it helps you keep your mind off things!
@winniebee: @snowjewelz: I usually don't nap, but the past few weekends, I have been trying to sneak in a nap at least one day. I do hate waking up all groggy during the day when it's all sunny out, but man, I usually need it! I have been feeling so exhausted!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: I'm spending the weekend with 50 of our church's middle schoolers at a retreat, so I'm probably surrounded by like 500 of them in total. It will probably help me treasure my time without children hahaha!

Hey ladies . So much activity on this thread - I love it!
I am so exhausted by 2:30 (LO's nap time) and I usually do end up passing out but I'm trying to just lay down and not fall asleep bc then I can't fall asleep at night so well. Laying down definitely makes the nausea better for some reason.
I just started crying yesterday bc I was just so tired of feeling sick and gagging. I think bc it's only week 6 and it lasted until week 20 my last pregnancy...that just feels so far away. DH was like "maybe it'll get better sooner this time"...I really hope so
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@sandy: Aww hugs I really hope it gets better sooner too! I hope you find more remedies and little tricks that really helps you. And know that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel! Before you know it, you would've forgotten about this stage of pregnancy! Hang in there!

@MrsScallop: Yay!!!! Welcome and congratulations again!!!
@snowjewelz: Wow, lots of information! Hopefully everything is fine and you get a nice picture next week!!
@Mrs.Lilac: Woohoo brown hair!!! That'll definitely be easier to maintain if it's your natural color!
@sandy: Awww honey, I'm sorry you're not feeling well!!! HUG!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
@winniebee: I almost have the opposite problem right now. I desperately need to stay awake to get work and cleaning done, but as soon as I sit down for any extended period of time, I am out. I'll trade with you!
@snowjewelz: Sounds like a productive appointment. I'm sure everything will be fine and your next appointment will be even better!
@sandy: Sorry you are feeling crummy Hopefully it will ease up soon!
