@mrsmenow: Thanks for the reassurance. Hopefully you're not feeling as sick now? I also lost in first tri, probably because of the sickness.

@travelingbrit: I have also been paying more attention to everything lately, and I think for the same reasons as you - PTL. I know a girl that was 2 weeks ahead of me and she delivered her baby at 28 weeks. He is fine, just mega tiny, but her constant picture updates of him, so small in a huge diaper and inside of an incubator for the next 6 weeks, just puts the absolute biggest fear in me. Like it CAN happen, and here it is on FB happening to this person I know IRL!

The past few days I've had these weird deep cramp things in the front of my belly, kind of down low. Below my belly button, right in the front. I guess it's RLP, but it definitely feels more noticeable than any RLP I've had in the past. That's kind of freaked me out. This morning, I had to pee SO bad, which made it worse for some reason, and I made myself lay in bed for 20 minutes afterward to see if it got better. If it didn't, then I was going to call the doctor. But it did.

Also, I have been very suspicious that LO is breech because I was having all that pressure on my diaphragm and unable to breathe at night. And also I felt a lot of movement at or below my belly button. I think she must have flipped if that was the case, because last night was the first time I could breathe at night and didn't have to sleep propped up! I slept 10 hours! LUXURY! I've been sleeping about 5 due to misery! I also noticed more movement above my belly button yesterday and today, which I hadn't noticed before, so I'm hoping that's because that's where the feet are now!

I also Dr. Googled the cramps, and it said that it could be from her establishing her head down position. I hope that's all it is!

@jholler25: I just wish I had this problem all the time (minus the nonstop nausea and vomiting).

@travelingbrit: It took until about 20 weeks for me to even feel somewhat normal, even with the zofran, but things are getting better.

I'm about at 21 lb's at 29 weeks! at the start of the pregnancy i wanted to be at 25lbs at the end, i think i can throw that out the window! lets just hope for 30lb at the end?

@littlehunny: i think i gained as much as you when i was 27 weeks with just 1 baby!! so i think ur weight gain is good!

@oahujeni: lucky! man it seems no matter how little or how much i eat i still gain weight. luckily its been gradual, but still, haha i wish i had that power to not gain weight!

@travelingbrit: i don't think we've started one yet. but we should! it'd be fun to see everyones stats.

    @mrsmenow: hope you're feeling better!

@jholler25: yay! hope baby turned for you. i think my baby was breech too bc i'd only feel movement really low. but i think since a couple days ago i started feeling more kicks at the ribs, and i might've felt hiccups really low yesterday for the first time! so i think baby turned. i don't think my dr will check till the very end tho. and i've been feeling alot of aches and pains too. kind of like the pains u get when u eat right before running or something. but it's gone away since. hopefully these pains we're having don't get worse (wishful thinking)

i had a drs appt this morning. omg she handed me this packet of things to look at, theres so much to do! find a pediatrician, fill out hospital preadmission forms, fill out state disability forms, sign up for classes. getting alittle overwhelmed! we're almost into the 30 weeks!

@kodybear: Yes that's exactly what it feels like except instead of being on my sides it's front and center just below my belly button! I'm so glad it's normal and I'm not the only one!

Good news! I passed my 2 hour glucose test! Whoop whoop!!

@kodybear: Thanks! I think it may have something to do with how squished my stomach is....I just can't seem to eat a full size meal anymore! I also had pretty bad morning sickness in the first trimester and lost a bit of weight.

@jholler25: Congrats on the glucose test! I was sure I failed mine because I felt so rotten afterwards, but turns out I passed

My 28 wk checkup was actually at 27w4d, and I'd gained 17 lbs as of then. My doc seemed totally unconcerned. I had to ask how much I'd gained because normally he just tells me that I'm still on track.
@kodybear: I'm feeling the same way about there being so much to do! It's getting so close to reality!
    @jholler25: Hooray! Congrats on passing!

  10. wheres_c

@jholler25 congrats on passing the glucose test! I had those same cramps about a week ago. I decided to go to sleep and told SO to wake me up in 4 hours to see if they were still there. If they were I was going to call/go in. Luckily they went away.

I just got a call from my doctor with some bad news. My thyroid levels are really really bad. I am hypothyroid but on medication. Apparently the medicine is not properly doing it's job and I have been referred to a Perinatalogist. I of course googled and I am freaking out. My appointment isnt for another two weeks though!

  11. MsInformation

@travelingbrit I hit 28 weeks tomorrow and we've gained roughly the same amount of weight. My doctor said I should feel free to eat with wild abandon, but that there's no need to start drinking protein shakes or anything. I've been snacking more at my desk and I think that's helped my weight gain accelerate slightly in the last week or so.

At my 20 week anatomy scan/ultrasound (it's a girl, by the way!), the baby was measuring in the 26th percentile, so I was scheduled for another ultrasound today at 28 weeks. The baby is now in the 22nd percentile and my OB thinks it's just a matter of time until she falls below the 10th percentile, so I've been diagnosed with intra uterine growth restriction and will have to come in for LOTS more appointments (seeing my OB weekly + non-stress tests twice a week + ultrasounds every 3 weeks). My doctor said she was "moderately concerned," so of course that sent my anxiety levels rocketing off the charts. DH is being remarkably zen-like about this. I was only 5 lbs 5 oz at birth and I'm still really tiny (under 5 feet), so I'm probably just destined to have a tiny baby. But IUGR still sounds pretty scary.

Oh, and it was a huge mistake to Google IUGR! But of course now I can't stop. Someone cut off my Internet access, please!

  12. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@travelingbrit: Oh no! I'm sorry! I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2009 and am lucky that I've never had to take medicine, my thyroid has managed to compensate for the missing half and my levels have been okay. But they have taken them every couple of months during my pregnancy because they told me that the hormones of pregnancy can wreak havoc on TSH levels! Is it the Christine perinatologist that has offices in CS & Boca? FWIW, that's where my NT scan and my Level 2 were and I really liked her and the office:)

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@MsInformation: Oh wow! I'm not familiar with this at all, but I hope that everything is just PERFECT. Is the worst case scenario that they would have to deliver the baby early due to the IUGR?

  14. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

Oh and thanks everyone for all of the congrats on the glucose test! I also thought I failed it because it made me feel so HORRIBLE, I thought for sure my body did not do happy things after that orange drink and fasting, so I'm so relieved. Especially because I don't have to take it again!

  15. wheres_c

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@jholler25: Nope, my doctor uses a perinatologist in Plantation. I went there for my NT and my anatomy though and they were nice enough.

@misinformation I hope everything goes well. Looks like you're closely monitored and baby will be in good hands.

  16. MsInformation

    apricot / 263 posts

@jholler25 @travelingbrit Thanks for the encouragement! My doctor said the trick with IUGR is close monitoring because they want the baby to stay in for as long as possible to keep growing, but not at the risk of the placenta breaking down. So they keep a close watch on fluid levels and so forth. I read about other women's experiences online and they seem very varied in terms of whether they get induced, at what week and whether the baby needs to spend time in the NICU.

Okay, so I attempted to make a list of who's due when. I went back through this thread, and extracted the information that was there. There are a few people that we haven't heard from in awhile. I'm hoping they are having a happy healthy 9 months, but I left them off here for now. If you want to be added or removed from the list let me know! (Or if I have any wrong info)

@travelingbrit: Thank you so much for the list! Not that it matters really, but just to complicate your life (lol), I am being induced on Dec. 2nd...

My preg brain is in full effect. I have blackouts of memory. I got in an order of Aden & Anais burpy bibs from BabySteals.com and was so excited...Then I got this email:
Thank you for your aden + anais order from Babysteals.com! We wanted to let you know that we mistakenly included only one set of aden + anais baby cakes burpy bibs in your original order. We just became aware of this error and will be sending another set of aden + anais baby cakes burpy bibs out in a separate package. It will ship today and will arrive soon. You will be receiving a tracking number for this shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We are here to help!

Yep! Totally didn't realize that I ordered 2 sets and they only sent one!!! I knew I ordered 2 sets, and I know what they sent, but my preg brain did not make the connection that anything was wrong with the quantity! Dur ta dur!!!!

@travelingbrit: Thanks for putting together the list!

I have my next ultrasound this Wednesday so I'm anxious to hear everything looks good. I feel movement, but it isn't as regular as I expected at this point. I'm not freaking out, but it is nice to know that we will get a good look at everything soon.

  25. wheres_c

    pomelo / 5789 posts

@rawrasaur: I know the feeling. Is it normal for your doc to give third tri ultrasounds? I have to get one privately since insurance won't cover it.

  26. rawrasaur

    pear / 1769 posts

@travelingbrit: Apparently she always does. The ultrasound tech says we are lucky and a lot of offices don't do it. I have really good insurance, so I'm pretty sure it covers it (worst case I pay 20%). I think since she didn't give me the option just told me we were having it, that it will be covered by insurance at doctors request. I don't really know much about my insurance, just that I pretty much pay out of pocket for nothing.

    Cannot. Stay. Awake.

    SO EXHAUSTED.

I read about a "30 week slump" which is basically the beginning of the end, when you start to just get so tired you can't function and you don't give a crap about anything.

That's how I feel today. I really don't give a crap about anything except getting to take a nap before I slip into a coma from exhaustion!

@jholler25: I hear you. I'm ready to crawl into bed as soon as I get home.
Have you decided on a last day at work yet?
Has anyone else decided on their last day?

Unless something comes up before then, my scheduled last day is November 30th.
That means 55 working days left!

@travelingbrit: I told my boss and manager that my plan is to work through Thanksgiving at least. Being due 12/30 but planning an induction around 12/15 means working as long as possible, especially since I won't have any paid time off. If possible, I'd like to work through 12/7 (2 weeks after Thanksgiving).

i think i'm also stopping nov 30th. i might just start working from home for the 1 week before my due date since thats what other mom's in my office have done previously (altho all of them seem to have delivered b4 their due date!)

I am also mentally planning for November 30th assuming that nothing happens before then. I am quitting to stay at home full time though not taking maternity leave. I haven't told my boss yet, I don't want to now because she is not going to be happy to lose me and will make me feel guilty about it.

  33. wheres_c

@kodybear: I'm hoping I can work from home a little before that myself. It would make things easier.

@rawrasaur I totally understand. I haven't posted my full plans here, since it's a public forum and don't want to risk my job and insurance before the birth. Lets just say my plan does not match their expectations.

so cool to see the list of little ones that will be on it's way

last week i just went in for my glucose test and thankfully passed, but also got the flu shot, and that night got a cold, which i've only been able to shake off on sunday. sick and pregnant...*not* fun.

i'm thinking of taking maternity the week of thanksgiving, it feels like it's coming so fast!

  37. Minnie_Girl

I can't believe it's time to think about maternity leave already! The days are long but the weeks are short...

I don't know if I'll be going back to my WOH job after the baby or not. I'll still have my WAH job, plus the baby, so it may be too much. But the WOH job provides more reliable income. It's hard to make a choice like this without having any idea what life will be like once baby arrives.

@Minnie_Girl: So excited to have a date date twin!

I am so curious as to how many of us will end up going into labor naturally and how far off from our due dates we'll be. If I actually give birth on 12/12 that would be great, but I know it's not likely.

My company Christmas party (where I was given an Ipad last year) is on 12/8 which also happens to be my 30th birthday! I really really hope that I can still attend.
I know theres a fair chance baby could come on my birthday. I'd hate for us to share a birthday Everyone needs their own special day.

@travelingbrit: I just nailed down that November 21st is my last working day! The day before Thanksgiving! We are off for holiday on Thurs and Fri of Thanksgiving, and then I'll take 5 vac days the next week. Then get induced Sun night.

I'm also curious who goes early/late/etc! My husband works offshore for 3 weeks at a time. He leaves when I am 34 weeks and returns when I am 37 weeks, so if for some reason I go early, I hope it's not earlier than 37 weeks! Once he's home, I'm going to be doing everything possible to try to get her to come early, I'm sure!!!

But all 3 of us were born late for my mom, so I think my LO will follow this trend and she'll be getting induced as planned on Dec 2nd:)
