Wow! Can’t believe how close we’re all getting! I’m 32+2 and having tons of Braxton Hicks. Anyone else? I didn’t have them much at all when I was pregnant with DD1.

@bushelandapeck: I've been having what feel like mild period cramps for awhile now, especially in the evening, that seem to be gradually increasing in frequency. I wasn't sure if those are Braxton Hicks or something different?? I'm totally clueless as a first time mom...

I get BH in the evening...or at least I assume that's what they are. My stomach, mostly the lower part, gets very tight and hard, but it isn't painful. I had a lot more BH contractions for my first than I did with this one. The first time around I started feeling more period-like cramps in the week or so leading up to when I went into real labor.

I have a c section scheduled for Feb 2nd, unless I go into labor earlier...so I really am under a month at this point. Crazy!

@LadyDi: so exciting to know the date! Guessing I’ll be close to 2/2 myself but who knows! I imagine my OB will be pushing for a membrane sweep on 1/30 if I haven’t delivered by then. By her calculations I would be 40+5 at that point. I’ve never had a sweep but I hope to avoid it, if possible.

So crazy to see this thread pop up!

I’ve also had toooons of Braxton Hicks. Pretty much any time I go up the stairs, bend over, or get up from sitting. Can’t wait to see all these babies soon!

@DesertDreams88: I do think diarrhea can be an early labor sign, but it can also be because there is so much more pressure down there as you get further along. The past few days I've definitely had more loose stool than usual but no other symptoms so I'm chalking it up to the stool softeners I've been religiously taking to avoid constipation. Haha.

As for as how long...I am with you that it feels like not much time all of a sudden! I have been putting off some of the stuff I know I need to do- set up pack and play, install car seat, pull down swing from attic, finish buying registry needs....the list goes on! I think we will be fine no matter when baby decides to make his arrival, but I really do need to stop procrastinating.

@DesertDreams88: I was dilated to 1.5 last week. Will check again tomorrow when I see my OB. For me, dilation hasn't been a good indication of if labor was imminent but I am still hopeful that it won't be much longer. I still need to set up the pack and play in our room but can do that whenever, or have my husband do it if I don't get around to it before baby gets here.

I haven't had any cervical checks yet. I'm guessing the doctor will start at 36 weeks?

Our house isn't fully ready, but ready enough. I moved the cradle into our room and we have at least some clothes clean. All the furniture is built, but there's still some last minute things to take the plastic off of, take out of the box (Like the changing pad is on the changing table, but it's not unwrapped or covered).

@JJ2626: I haven't declined them but I don't find them to be particularly useful either so I can see why you wouldn't want them. With my first I found it to be stressful/upsetting when I wasn't dilated at all, but they don't really bother me either so I've just gone along with it. My OB doesn't start them until 38w.

We spent most of the weekend getting the nursery set up - finished painting, got the new dresser set up, dragged out all of my son’s clothes and baby things, got out the bassinet for our room, etc, etc. I also finally packed my hospital bag. Definitely feel like I got my nesting urge itched a bit! Although I do think I overdid it a bit; had a fair amount of contractions yesterday, so I’m trying to take it easy today.

@JJ2626: with my first I had planned to refuse but then my office didn’t even do them until right at the end (at which point I was curious enough to not decline!). I think for this time I will decline again until 38-39 weeks if they happened to want to do one before then.

I can't tell what I feel or when I feel it! Have felt some stomach tightening intermittently which I guess is BH but I wouldn't say it feels like a contraction.

Also re: cervical checks - I've read that effacement is a much better predictor of how imminent labor is than dilation. They haven't offered one yet and I don't know what my plan is for doing one or not...

Can't believe this post is up either! I'll be 37 Weeks on Thursday and haven't had any cervical checks. I had an ultrasound at 35 weeks and they said he was head down. I think I'm going to decline a cervical check at my appointment on Thursday, but I'll accept the one at 39 weeks, I just don't want anything up there right now. I've been having braxton hicks contractions, but I've been having those since 23 weeks. They kind of feel like they are lasting longer, but I don't notice an increase in frequency, and they don't hurt either, it's just that my stomach gets really tight. I kind of felt a little crampy the last week but it wasm't during a BH it was after and it was pretty mild. Not sure what that is.

@DesertDreams88: personally I would rather no name or just initials? Fist and middle? I will post the name on the FB group but probably not on here. That might just be me though!

I’m 36w2d and was dilated 1cm yesterday. Any updates from you ladies?

@CatchAFallingStar: water broke this morning! Waiting for contractions to pick up and hoping to avoid needing Pitocin but it might go that way. My labor and delivery with my son was exactly the same!
