@DesertDreams88: just so you know, I have pretty severe anxiety issues as well.. are you on medication? My OB told me today that I can stay on Zoloft throughout my pregnancy.

@CatchAFallingStar: my Dr offered it but I'm managing ok for now. I've never been on medication though I should have explored it especially for the third trimester and postpartum. I didn't realize my thoughts were NOT NORMAL. No panic attacks or intrusive/obsessive thoughts like last time.

Hi Ladies. I've been MIA because work has been insane and the first trimester kicked my butt! I'm starting to feel a lot better now that I'm entering the second trimester.

My NIPT blood work and NT scan came back all clear. Such relief! And we're super excited to find out that we're having another GIRL!!!! We're so thrilled. Now that we know the sex it's so much more real. I'm so excited to start planning the nursery decor and figuring out a name.

@CatchAFallingStar: NIPT will only be definitive if it's two boys or two girls. We're not dying to find out and might try to wait til they're born, so it's NBD at this point.

@CatchAFallingStar: we have the results but haven't listened to the VM yet. I'm guessing a boy.

OMG YOU GUYS maternity pants are the bomb! Bought a pair of LL early maternity jean shorts w/ the stretchy side panels and I'm going to wear these every summer, pregnant or otherwise! SO COMFORTABLE!!! All women's pants should have stretch panels!

@bushelandapeck: I would love a secret facebook group!
    @CatchAFallingStar: Woohoo for the ultrasound!

I turn 12 weeks tomorrow and I'm still not showing! Argh! Or maybe I am? it is so hard to tell because I haven't been taking any pictures this whole time. When I turned 11 weeks I thought maybe I was starting to get a little thicker in my waist. In the morning I'm pretty flat, but once I start eating and get fluids in me it's like I have a permanent food baby all of a sudden, or maybe it is bloat? I have definitely been enjoying skirts more than pants lately. My 12 week appointment is Friday and I'm super nervous. I hope they use the doppler, I want to hear the heart beat because I've been so anxious over the last 4 weeks.

@Tionn3: I'm going to try to figure out the FB group thing and get back to everyone about it. lol. I thought it would be easier to figure out than it is!

@Tionn3: Good luck on Friday! 12 weeks is still pretty early to show esp for a first pregnancy. I'm *barely* showing and I've got two in there. And if I'm honest, I just look chubby, not pregnant.

@CatchAFallingStar: We got the NIPT results back on Monday. Everything came back low risk. We had them put the gender in an envelope and we are finding out with family on Sunday. I can't wait to find out!

@dominobee: haha I know, totally. I never gave up my maternity dark skinny jeans, my skinny black work pants, or my gray capris.... staple pieces and a subtle elastic waistband!

@Tionn3: With my first I didn't start showing for real until 16 or 17 weeks...before that I just looked more bloated than normal. Good luck at your appointment!

  20. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

@Tionn3: I think not showing until 16-18w is totally normal. This is my 4th pregnancy (3rd past 10w) and I'm either 15w today or 14w tomorrow (depending on if you go by NT scan or EDD) and still not really showing at all. I usually start to show around 17/18w.

We had our first midwife appointment on Tuesday and everything looks great! We had a bunch of bloodwork done and the results for the genetic testing should be back in about a week or so. I'm dying to hear the results and can't wait to find out the gender! I think we'll feel more comfortable announcing once we hear back.

So, early in my pregnancy, I was running really cold. Like my husband would be tempted to turn up the AC, and I'd be under a blanket.

But omg. I had to work for an hour this morning in an un-airconditioned office (they were filming so we had to turn it off for sound). I wasn't sure I was going to make it!

Had to take my ID picture for work today and they were sealing the bathrooms nearby (don't know what that means) and it smelled SO chemically, like new paint. Ughhh. Fingers crossed that 10 minutes of exposure is not detrimental I kept trying to take shallow breaths.... but that's not good either. Of course, my sense of smell is maybe 5x what it normally is, so it was so potent.

Other pregnancy symptom question - if this is a 2nd+ pregnancy for you, are you noticing similar, more, or less breast tenderness/pain etc? My 1st pregnancy didn't develop enough, but my 2nd pregnancy it was daily soreness, shooting pains, etc..... now not so much with this 3rd. I wonder if it's that my breasts have already gone through the mammary growth process and I was nursing right up until getting pregnant?

@MaryM: My temp is super erratic. Last night I was freezing hanging out outside while everyone else seemed fine in shorts and t-shirts. This morning I was super hot even though our A/C was running.

  25. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@DesertDreams88: Although I know it's not harmful...I think someone let something die in our work fridge. It's so bad in our kitchen, they decided to prop the door open to make it easier to go in there for coffee and what not...but the smell is SO bad!

  26. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

@jodyblair: so happy to hear you had a good appointment! Are you planning on doing any sort of gender reveal?

@DesertDreams88: I have less breast soreness but they are definitely full! I was worried about that at first too, but I think you might be onto something with our bodies already having been through this. I BF my daughter until Sept 2016 when she was 23mos so I think my body probably hadn't had a ton of time to forget

  27. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@dominobee: Yeah. Now, after having a fan on me for like 30 minutes (and being in an office that's appropriately 72 degrees), I'm freezing again.

@DesertDreams88: The first time I got pregnant, I asked my SIL (who had 6 or 7 kids by then) if her boobs were just constantly in pain. She said she didn't remember them ever being sore.

I wonder if maybe they were with the first, but after so many kids she just forgot or got used to it? She's pretty much been breastfeeding someone constantly (or close to it) for the last 14 years.

Had out my scan and bloods drawn yesterday and got to see the little taco swimming around! So much cooler than the 7 week US lol. Scans looked low risk so once the bloodworm comes back I think we may announce! Or at least tell people as it comes up - will probably save the online till 16-20weeks. We opted for the standard first tri screening (not the cell-free DNA screen) - anyone else? We'll follow up with it if numbers seem ambiguous.

  30. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

@skiierchck99: great news! I didn't opt out of the cell free DNA because of my age (36) but didn't have it with my daughter.

Officially in the second tri at 14w today and feeling like I look pregnant all of a sudden! I suppose that might also be because I'm measuring over 15w, but it still feels like it happened overnight. Still fitting into regular clothes but I look like I gained 10lb right around the middle.

@DesertDreams88: I've got no breast pain this time either, my midwife said that was normal bc your boobs already know what to do basically. Im in the same boat, I weaned the month I got pregnant so I figure everything is already in place. They do feel fuller though and less like flat pancakes

  32. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

@petitenoisette: YES! My boobs look 100x better when I'm pregnant and nursing. Afterwards? Yikes.

I finally made it to target. Left with 0 clothes. There was andy a ton left.

I would have gotten $10 jeans if they didn't have the dumb horizontal distressing on the hip area. What woman (especially pregnant) wants horizontal lines across her hips???

12 week appointment went well. I met with my OBGYN today because the midwife was out on vacation this week. She used the doppler and found the heart beat right away. She could tell I was pretty nervous about the hematoma so she took a peek with the ultrasound to check on it, and it has gotten smaller. Phew! NT scan is next Friday 8/11.

@DesertDreams88: my boobs have been hurting so badly lately! I thought maybe it would be better this time since they're used to it, but recently they've been really big and in pain! Haha, so weird.
