    @mrsjyw um NO! super jealous of all the ladies with DDs before me though, it's going to make me even more antsy!!

    Super excited, we have a signed offer agreement on a house! Ended up with a gigantic ranch - we'll be going from 600 square feet in an apartment to 2600+ and I can't wait to have a "real" nursery. Fingers crossed that inspections and financing goes on without a hitch!

    Hey ladies! How are you all? My work has blocked HB, gutted, so haven't been able to get on lately.

    Are you all nesting? I haven't had it at all! We've had my family vsiting from England and staying with us in our one bedroom apartment, so have only just been able to shop for the crib etc - two weeks before I'm due!!! It paid off in some ways as the crib was on sale - but the downer is that it won't be in stock for eight weeks, ha ha. Ah well. We've got a shit load to do this next two weeks but I'm sure it will all be fine.

    @scg00387: Great news on the house, congrats!

    @highwire: Hope your showers went well!

    I'm pretty nested, just working on wall decor But, I've had a lot of extra time lately. 2 weeks, eek exciting!

    @scg00387: congrats on the house! i've got a serious case of space envy...we live in a 2-bed apartment and our nursery furniture barely fits in the room.

    @travelgirl1: i've been nesting like crazy in the last couple of weeks! its down to the wire, and we just got our furniture today (glider & dresser). now all we have to do is hang up some pictures and i made a pinwheel garland today to hang on the wall.

    i'm getting skeptical that little lady will ever come out! feeling so tired and antsy and uncomfortable. my doc said if she doesn't come out, induction will be a week from my due date...so that would be Nov 8. At least there is an end in sight!

    @jesslc thanks! i hear you, we're in a 2 bedroom now and my parents just brought a ton of stuff it's freaking me out where we're going to put it all! our stroller sits behind our couch

    @megg05 @chelsearose thanks!!

    @SCG00387 that house is beautiful! We're like many here in a 2 bedroom place. It is comfortable but I am really looking forward to next year when we'll be house-shopping and can start dreaming of a little more breathing room. We ended up renting a storage unit for all our hobby-related items and it will be really nice to have that back in our home... whether we have time to do them or not!

    We've also gotten creative with storage. our stroller will live in the trunk of our car!

    Part of me is glad we have a small space for now though as it's cut down on the amount of baby-stuff I've been able to buy for myself and we've also been able to realistically discourage people from buying us too much stuff - no where for it to go!

    And as far as nesting goes - I've been there for weeks. All I have left to do in the nursery is finish one piece of artwork I am making myself and hang things. Then put away a few items that are kind of living in limbo for the moment. Feels good! The rest of the house has been getting my attention lately - dusting, cleaning the fridge/freezer, etc. So that massive list I made last week has whittled WAY down
    Good thing since I'm 12 days away from my due date today!

    Got the nursery back in working order last night after our showers caused the whole thing to explode into a mess again

    I've got a deep cleaning scheduled with a local maid company that we've used a few times so I'm just doing all that I can to make sure the house is as tidy as possible and all of our stuff is put away where it belongs, so they can spend time doing all the nitty gritty gross stuff like scrubbing bathrooms/baseboards/etc.

    @highwire: Nice, I'm jealous! I want to do that also, but DH is not on board. I'm hoping someone will gift it to me, that's my only hope!

    @scg00387: congrats! amazing house!

    I'm pretty well nested! Everything's ready to go except our daily use stuff that needs to go in the hospital bag.

    I might do one more anti-bacterial wipe down of our cars/nursery in the coming weeks, but we had our entire house carpet cleaned, air ducts cleaned, and cleaned last weekend.

    25 more days from today. AHHHHHHHHHHHH. that means it's even less for some you other Nov mamas. AHHHHHHHHHH

    @kml636: DH is also not a fan, but I am doing it anyway. He's a little more on board after I tried to deep clean our guest bath and could barely walk for a week afterwards. LOL.

    @highwire: @kml636: My husband was not a fan of someone else cleaning our house. My mom offerred and I also considered hiring the house cleaner that my parents use. I told him that the alternative is for him to do it himself. About two weeks ago the house got a pretty thorough cleaning done by my husband.

    @kml636: Yea -- more sonograms were NOT part of the plan. At my routine 36 week appoint I measured 33 weeks, though up until that point I had been measuring right on -- so my OB was concerned by the drop in size. She required we get a sonogram to figure out what was causing the change . . . Looks like I've got at least one more to look forward too. Funny how plans change . . .

    My husband is the one who keeps requesting the maid service, but I'm trying to be frugal and save as much money as possible. However, now that I'm basically totally worthless since I get BH contractions whenever I exert myself, I'm going to cave and just hire someone. My poor husband just can't keep up with all the house maintenance.

    I'm really tired right now. Shockingly, I'm still sleeping pretty well but it's ALL I WANT TO DO. Sometimes I find myself counting down the hours until bedtime. I feel like I'm in the first trimester again.

    @Mrs. Tricycle: The one overwhelming thing I learned about pregnancy is that you can't really plan for anything. At least you're almost at full term and if your baby was born now then little one would be fine.

    @lindseykaye yes! my parents are here and haven't lived in an apartment in decades... they were making fun of all the stuff we have stored above our cabinets and under our dressers, LOL and wow less than 2 weeks!! exciting!

    @highwire I am so jealous. I tried cleaning for my parents (husband is out of town) and about keeled over. I drew the line at scrubbing the tub.

    @mrsjyw thanks!

    @mrstricycle i know, i am pumped! and i hear you, i've been sentenced to weekly sonograms as well. how is semi-bedrest going??

    @petuniasandpearls I am super jealous, it's all I can do to force myself to sleep because I've started waking up more than twice a night and it almost feels pointless! Share some of that sleepiness

    @JessLC: Wow, you're organised! How did your pinwheel garland work out? Do you have a pic?

    @lindseykaye: What artwork are you making? Sounds like you have proper nesting fever : )

    @highwire: I'm seriously thinking about hiring help for a deep clean. I'm working right up until my c section and there is noooo way I'm going to bending down to scrub baths the night before that, lol. How soon before baby are you having it?

    @petuniasandpearls: That's great you're sleeping well! My sleep is shocking but I'm used to it now - and it's great practice for baby!

    Have you all washed the baby's clothes yet? Is there anything cuter than seeing rows of teeny tiny baby clothes all lined up drying? Awwwww

    @travelgirl1: the garland turned out really nicely, it was so easy to do too! I am trying to figure out how to add the photo, HB is not letting me

    We washed all the baby clothes a couple weekends ago and I fins that I squee every time I look at newborn outfits and all the little hats! Never gets old

    @mrsjyw: I'm doing OK....I am more uncomfortable and tired, but I'm still at the office, plugging away! My plan is to work up until the day. I have a doc appt today at 2pm, I am hoping she tells me something new and exciting. I had some cramping last night and i thought maybe it was time but alas...nothing. Definitely grumpy though...I am so over being pregs and just want to meet our little lady. How's your stomach/reflux? I know you were struggling with it recently.

    Anyone else have nursery pics to share? I will share mine as sson as I figure out how to upload from my phone.

  35. mrsjyw

    @JessLC: i've been eating a lot better and reflux isn't as bad since baby's dropped! thank goodness! i started having a bit of cramps while i was sleeping last night, but nothing to report.

    we'll be 37 weeks this weekend, so i'm def going to look into the red rasp/primrose oil/old wives' tales next week!

    @mrsjyw - I'm also Nov 5th (Still surprised there are three of us!)

    Our baby clothes are washed and hung, too. I really hope I don't end up regretting it though and that she can wear all of it before she grows out of it! Or else I'll wish I had kept the tags on so we could return anything she didn't...

    Still have to wash our cloth diaper supplies, but I'm not in a rush since we plan on getting started with disposables until we get the hang of things and she's big enough to fit into them properly. That is if she's not so big when she arrives haha!

    @travelgirl1 - I made something similar to this
    http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/08/song-lyric-wall-art-diy-project.html
    But I didn't have time to thrift for a painting so I just painted my own background of colors that matched the nursery. I kept forgetting to pick up the letter stickers so that was the last bit I did yesterday after work. It actually turned out GREAT. Tonight we're hanging things and then I can share some photos - I'd love to see more of everyone's nurseries too!

    @JESSLC - I'm also having cramping in the evenings and what feels like constant braxton hicks. Nothing consistent and they're always gone by morning though so I'm just waiting (patiently as I can).

    I was lucky enough to be friends locally with two other women who were pregnant at the same time as me, and then each of them had another friend who was pregnant! There were six of us due within a month of each other and as of this morning, I'm the last one still pregnant... I was always the last due date but now it's making me even more anxious to join them in the 'mama' club.

    Been getting iv iron all morning today. And have to get three more treatments next week! Gah. The treatments actually take place at an oncology center so I'm in the same area as all the chemo patients which is kind of sad/scary...

  38. travelgirl1

    cantaloupe / 6630 posts

    @JessLC: Yay, so glad it turned out well! We don't have a nursery yet, baby will be in with us.

    @lindseykaye: Aw, that's lovely!

    @highwire: That must feel a bit strange, hope you're okay!

    @travelgirl1: 3 more treatments to go! Gah. I was supposed to be taking iron pills but I wasn't allowed to take them near meals or anytime I had taken Tums because the calcium prevents the body from absorbing the iron...and since I could never find a time when I hand't either just eaten or was just about to eat and also hadn't taken any Tums recently, I just wasn't taking the iron pill nearly as often as I should. My iron stores plummeted, and now I have to get it through an IV...

    So, I was avoiding birth stories for a while because they were traumatizing me but now I am obsessed with them again. Anyone else?

    I'm starting to think about doing some actual "things" in preparation for labor (specific stretching/exercises, meditation, reading, etc.) Is anyone doing anything similar?
