@pinkb: We got a NYE baby as a result of early delivery, too. Honestly, I kind of resented his whole party and everything because we just came off Christmas. And I felt bad for feeling bad. Its just a lot to do in a short span and I wish I could put all my effort into his birthday and Christmas instead of feeling like I'm splitting myself up.
I know it will change as he gets older and maybe we can be that family that always has a NYE party. I also want to plan a special summer-time event for his half-birthday (like we always go to Disneyland in June) so he can get a special day for him.
I think it will be awesome when he is 21+ bc people will always want to go out and celebrate his birthday.

@BabyBruins: I guess as she gets older if she startes to have issues with it we could do something like celebrate the half year mark. Good idea! In the past we have never really celebrated NYE, we would just stay home and have a quiete night together. So I like that it is a new reason for us to have a bigger celebration. Everyone keeps saying "oh just wait till her 21st birthday!"

I have an early December birthday, and the timing never bothered me-- my family would always wait to put up the tree and decorations until my birthday had passed, so I never felt overshadowed. My EDD is December 20, which is considerably closer to Christmas than my birthday, so I'm a little worried, but what am I going to do? I'll be thrilled to have a healthy baby, and will do my best to always make her feel special on her birthday.

I wouldn't mind a Christmas baby at all, I want one around the holidays.
