@oliviaoblivia: Thanks!!
My husband has had a really negative attitude about actually having a baby for the whole TTC process, but we had a long talk about it last night, and he is feeling much better about it - a huge relief to me, because he was freaking me out!
If this baby situation works out, they'll be due on January 11
Yay!

PS We agreed to tell no one until the first trimester is over, so it is sooo nice to have a place to celebrate and share the news!! congrats to all new january mamas!!!

@Meeshling: I'm glad your hubby has come around, that must have been difficult.
We've told our parents and siblings. Mainly because DH is away visiting his sister with his Mom and there was no way he couldn't tell them in person. And I told my parents and sisters so that we are even. I told my two co-workers cause my office is really small and there was no hiding my excitement.

we told siblings and our parents as well...we will try to hold off telling everyone else until 12 weeks...its my second baby so i may start showing way before then! I already think i look different

@oliviaoblivia: Yeah, I was really concerned. But the fact that he was going along with TTC for the past few months, taking vitamins and trying to take better care of himself, really showed me that it was just something we had to talk through.
It is going to be so hard to not tell anyone for another two months! It's nice you and @shoemama were able to share it with some family and co-workers!

@Meeshling: I'm so glad you are through it. My DH took a while to get on board, but once he was, he got really into it quickly. I hope yours makes the same turn quick turn around.
Are you going to tell your parents earlier than the second tri? I tried to not tell my mom for about two minutes before I spilled my guts.
coffee bean / 49 posts
@oliviaoblivia: We're def. not telling his mom till the second trimester, but I might tell my mom after my first doctor's apt. I am so superstitious and nervous that I don't want to do anything to "jinx" the pregnancy ;/

@Meeshling: I wish I had your resolve. DH told his mom and it didn't go so well. I kinda wish she didn't know!
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Meeshling: She's never really been my fan. I've spoken with her twice since he told her and she hasn't said anything to me. No congratulations, no how are you feeling, just oh hello here's your husband and the walks away. And according to him she won't talk about it at all.
It's kind of what I expected, but still disappointing.

@oliviaoblivia: That sucks, and is so unfair to you. Do you think it'll get at all better, or is this just kind of the way it is?
pineapple / 12793 posts
@Meeshling: for a while I thought she might get better "once the grandchildren get here" but so far that's not working out. :). At least my parents and FIL are really excited. 3/4 ain't bad.

@oliviaoblivia: That's good! It's nice to have a support system, esp. when there are naysayers about. No idea how my MIL will react. I don't think she will care too much.

I just got my BFP on May 1st after completing an IUi cycle , so shocked that it worked after trying for 17 months and I don't know how cycles since I have short cycles. HCG is rising at a good rate. 259 on May 1st and 614 on May 3rd. My the internet calculators my due date is January 9th. The RE hasn't given me an official due date yet. I get released from the RE to the OB at 8 to 10 weeks.

@Alivoo01: Thank you.
We've told our parents already, they knew we were in IF treatment so we really couldn't wait to surprise them. We had to let them know about treatment because monitoring was messing with planned family events.

Hey Ladies! I'm new here and I'm due January 5th! Got my BFP on May 1st. hooray for our little 2013 babies! We have told our parents but that is it. We plan to keep it quiet from our siblings until 8 weeks. Most of my husbands siblings are coming down for memorial day and I know there will no hiding it as we tend to go through some bottles of wine when we get together.
I had my first dr appointment at 4wk 4d to confirm my pregnancy, calculate due date, pelvic exam and lab work. I go back May 29th (the day before my birthday!) to hopefully hear the heartbeat.
I haven't had many symptoms yet. Sore boobs, some hunger and a little heart burn. hoping for an easy 1st trimester. no idea what to expect as this is my first baby!
congrats to all of you!

@kayakgirl73: @Lone Palm: Congratulations!! I'm so glad you are both here!
I had my first appointment last week and am going in this afternoon for my second beta draw and a pelvic exam. Fingers crossed that my numbers are still going up. MS has started already so I guess that's good. Ick. Boobs hurt and I'm so so tired. I thought I'd have a little more time before getting sick.

@oliviaoblivia: I feel you are the tiredness and sore boobs. I just had my third beta drawn this morning. Standard protocol after IUI. Hopefully I will get to schedule an ultrasound sound soon as long as my beta have risen correctly, which thus far they have.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@kayakgirl73: Good luck with your third beta!
I thought once we got our BFP that I could relax, but I'm finding myself to be nervous about everything. When I called for my first beta the receptionist gave me my number (142) and then said it was too low and that I need to come in again. It's totally where it should be for 14DPO. I know the numbers don't mean all that much and that it's the growth that's important, but still, don't tell me my number is bad when it's not. First time I've ever been really thankful for Dr. Google.

@oliviaoblivia: Jeepers they should give you a range, from what I understand you're okay as long as your in the range and that it continues to double. Actually my RE's nurse said that they are actually looking for a 60% increase versus doubling. Will they have you come in again after all? With IUI you automatically do three beta spaced out over several days.
pineapple / 12793 posts
@kayakgirl73: The thing that bugged me most was that it was my GP's receptionist, not the doctor. She probably isn't used to getting women in for Betas before missed AF and is used to looking at higher numbers.
I looked up the range and I'm at the high end of where I should be (32-147 for 14DPO.) I go in again in a few hours and will get a second beta, I have some other stuff to have done before I get to see an OB.

@oliviaoblivia: Receptionists should be indicating anything about numbers ugh. Good luck with you second beta. I just had my third and all is well.
