6 months - I can't believe it!! Time to start thinking about 1st birthday party

Name: Lyla or Lyla Lovebugger

Birthday: January 14th

Current weight: 16 lbs (50%)

Current height: 25 3/4" (50%)

Clothing size: 6 months in disposables, 9 months in cloth

Diaper size: Size 2 in disposables

Feeding: 6 bottles, ~30 oz per day. Just started BLW but she's mostly sucking on the food at this point. We've been in and out of vacations and traveling like crazy this month, so we haven't been very consistent with it yet - bad Mommy!

Milestones: Crawling, getting close to putting herself in sitting position, got 2 teeth, saying the 'guh' sound a lot

Sleep/Naps: 7 pm - 6:30 am, one 2-3 hour nap in the am (2 hours after waking up), one 1 hour nap around 4/5 pm.

Struggles: I really, REALLY hate to say none, but...

Wins: So, SO happy and calm. Love that she doesn't seem to have any stranger anxiety yet.

How's daddy doing?: Great - wrapped around his little baby's finger like woah. It'll be interesting to see him do her bidding as she gets older

What are you looking forward to?: Holding her own bottle! I can't wait for her to understand what I'm saying to her. Can't wait for some words!!

Favorite toy/activity: Anything that's new. Toilet paper roll, cardboard box, piece of junk mail, it doesn't matter... haha. She has no use for old toys. Looks like we'll definitely be a toy rotation family!

Teeth: 2 teeth!!! I can see her top two working their way down her gums, it looks like they might be halfway down? We got lucky with 'teething' - I didn't even know she was teething until I saw an actual tooth sticking out of her gums

Birthday: 1/21
Current weight: 16 lbs-ish? was 15# at last ped appt.
Current height: I'd guess 28 inches - he was 27 in at last ped appt
Clothing size: 6 mo and 9 mo
Diaper size: just moved into 3's.
Feeding: solids at dinner; starting solids at lunchtime next week. Takes 3 5 oz bottles at daycare.
Milestones: He's working really hard on his pincer grasp. If you put him on his belly his little freddy kreuger hands start scratching the floor. He's sitting up unassisted very well but still falls over occasionally.
Sleep/Naps: hit or miss; but better since we started putting him on his belly to sleep.
Struggles: To Sleep Train or Not to Sleep Train?
Wins: He's a pretty mellow baby so far.
How's daddy doing?: Really good, except he wishes he had more time with him.
What are you looking forward to?: Talking.
Favorite toy/activity: Loves Baby Einstein take a long tunes and the o-ball
Teeth: None yet.... They're working their way down, though, i think.

@oliviaoblivia: i think once they get on the move, they definitely drop or don't grow as much! i can't believe how active she is already!

@edelweiss: where in CA are you going?? how fun that he can push himself into sitting. we have to put her in that position for her to practice.

@dagret: does L have a hard time going down or is he waking at night? R doesn't have an issue falling asleep on her own, but i do think at least one night waking could be cut out. i just don't care enough right now to do anything about it!

@coacheswife123: glad that EPing is working out for you! was J having a hard time falling asleep without you before sleep training?

@birdofafeather: he goes RIGHT back to sleep - and half the time, I fall asleep in the chair when I'm nursing him. Waiting for him to cry it out/not nursing him makes me more wired, and sleep less! So I'm in the same boat as you.

And in the rare instances where he doesn't go right back to sleep, we put him in his crib and he falls right to sleep. (i hope i didn't just jinx myself.)

Birthday: 1/10
Current weight: 17.5lbs (75ish percentile)
Current height: 26in (55ish percentile)
Clothing size: 6mo or 9mo, depending on the brand.
Diaper size: been in 3's for a while, will either start using overnights or move to 4's for nighttime.
Feeding: still EBF, ~30oz during the day, and one solid meal (mix of puree/BLW) at night for now. we'll start 2 meals per day in the next week or two. haven't found a food she doesn't love!
Milestones: rolling everywhere, sitting unassisted, early stages of crawling.
Sleep/Naps: STTN for a while now (hoping for no jinxes!), and 3 solid naps per day that range from 1-2.5hrs.
Struggles: she was horribly constipated for about a week, with 1-2 rock solid poops during that time. we took a small break from solids and the prune juice finally paid off! she is back to being soft and regular, and the solids have resumed as well.
Wins: awesome sleeping and eating + how chill and happy she is!
How's daddy doing?: still totally obsessed with her
What are you looking forward to?: i'm simultaneously looking forward to her officially crawling, but i'm also not because i'm not ready for her to be fully mobile!
Favorite toy/activity: her four-legged furry brother, her jumperoo, and a random crinkly pink butterfly that rattles.
Teeth: 0! she keeps pulling at her ears, but so far she's got nada.

Birthday: Jan 3

Current weight: 20 lbs. 1 ounce

Current height: 27 inches

Clothing size: 9m/12m

Diaper size: 3

Feeding: BF every 2-3 hours during the day. Fruit/Veggie purees 3xs a day.

Milestones: sitting, rolling both ways, open mouthed kisses, reaching

Sleep/Naps: Sleeps 7:30-7:00 with one nighttime feeding. Still wakes up for paci every once in awhile. 3 naps a day for random amounts of time.

Struggles: Short naps. He'll only sleep like 30-45 mins, but obviously needs to go back down, so I have to rock him back down. Have no idea what to do. Teething is a struggle now too. His top gums have really been bothering him.

Wins: Getting him to go to sleep on his own in his crib at night! Score!!

How's daddy doing?: Loves that JM can play more and is so active.

What are you looking forward to?: Starting to make more sounds. Now he mostly just squeals and screams.

Favorite toy/activity: Anything he can chew on/ balls. He is also obsessed with straws.

Birthday: jan 17

Current weight: i'm guessing about 16lb. he was 14lb10oz at
his 4-month appt. next appt tomorrow evening

Current height: probably around 26". he was 24.5" at his last appt.

Clothing size: 6 month

Diaper size: we cloth. he's on the 2nd riser snaps on the bumgenius freetime.

Feeding: he gets breastmilk 6 times a day (nurses 3x, 3 bottles at daycare). he gets one solid meal per day. will talk to the ped about when to send solids to daycare.

Milestones: rolling, reaching for us, and just tonight he zombie-crawled forward (used his arms to pull himself forward).

Sleep/Naps: goes down around 8, sleeps till around 6. some nights he wakes up in the night, but we just give him a paci and he puts himself back to sleep pretty quickly. daycare indicates that he takes 2 short morning naps and 1 long afternoon nap. when he's home on the weekends, he tends to take 1 long morning and 1 long afternoon.

Struggles: our biggest struggle had been reflux, but he's off the meds now and doing great!

Wins: getting off the zantac!

How's daddy doing?: hubs is so great with him. watching them together just makes my heart soar. i do wish he'd share the night wake-ups with me, especially since it's usually just giving him his paci and staying with him till he calms down (so MAYBE 5 minutes), and i get up a full 90 minutes before he does in the mornings. and especially this week, when i've been sick.

What are you looking forward to?: i want him to start talking!!

Favorite toy/activity: seriously, the kid loves pretty much any toy we give him. if we had to pick up a favorite, it would be his "pet tails" jellycat book.

Teeth: remember the other day when i said we had no signs? yeah, i was wrong! the next day, i felt some sharp little nubbies on his bottom gums. definitey got a couple teeth breaking through!

Name: Eli, aka "Li'l Turd". That's his rapper name.

Birthday: Feb. 2nd (I was due Jan. 21st and am cheating by staying with my Jan. mamas!)

Current weight: ~20 lbs, I guess. His appt isn't for another 2 weeks.

Current height: 27 inches

Clothing size: some 9 month stuff, mostly 12 month or 12-18 month

Diaper size: size 4 disposables, M/L Kissaluvs fitteds

Feeding: EBF about every 4 hours. Sometimes he only makes it 3. Haven't started solids yet, except for a few tastes here and there. Probably will after our 6 month checkup.

Milestones: He's sitting up pretty well. Still needs a spot because he sometimes does a backwards free-fall which doesn't end well. He's rolled over a few times, so we know he can! He just chooses not to. He generally hates tummy time, so I'm not sure what we're going to do about the crawling situation.

Sleep/Naps: He either takes two long naps or 3 shorter ones. And he's moved his night sleep times from 9 to 9, to 7 to 7. I'm not a fan, but that's okay. He has random wake-ups during the night. Sometimes just one, sometimes 2-3. He nurses and goes right back to sleep, so I'm cool with it.

Struggles: tummy time and diaper rashes (he gets them easily when he poops)

Wins: we just got back from vacationing at the beach, and I was worried before we went about if his sleep would be affected. The first night (after being in the car for 10 hours), though he took a little longer going down, he slept until 5am! Definite win for both of us!

How's daddy doing?: Wonderfully! I love that he gets to be home with E all day (works from home). I do most of the baby stuff like diapering and putting down for sleep (I don't mind at all), but he loves hanging out and playing with the baby.

What are you looking forward to?: After spending a week at the beach and not really spending any actual time at the beach, I'm looking forward to one nap a day!

Favorite toy/activity: He really likes his Kitty Tails book and Sophie. He also likes any/all straps or strings (i.e. the drawstrings on his shorts) that he can get in his mouth and chew/suck on.

Teeth: none yet. I think he's teething? He loves to rub his toys on his gums.

Cannot believe all your babies are 1/2 year old already! Love seeing them grow up! And @oliviaoblivia: glad to hear she's enjoying solids and not coke! lol!

@dagret: I guess I did, by accident. I got about 7 inches cut off, only wanted 4 or 5 taken off but it will grow back. I didnt realize until last week how much hair I lost...and that I am still losing I have so much of the little fussy hair growing in around my hairline it constantly looks ridiculous. lol

@pinkb: OMG! I thought I was the only one that was happening to. I have so many fuzzy baby hairs growing in at my hairline and it just looks weird! To me at least.... I hope no one else notices.

@dagret: I chopped off about 5 inches. I was so tired of having spit-up in my hair!

@allison: I am a weirdo and look at those photos often. Yes I looked like crap! I would definitly like to try and look more put together next time an have atleast one of those pretty new mommy pics.

@allison: I have the photo of them first putting him into my arms. I'm actually ok with the way I looked. Since I started having contractions at 2am and couldn't go back to sleep, I took my time doing my hair and make-up just because I needed something to do. I also had a quick labor so I didn't have as much time to mess it all up. I couldn't stop crying when they gave him to me...... the emotions were just so huge and I'm glad my mom thought to snap a picture. So to the average observer I look a mess, but I am happy with it.

What I didn't know my mom had done until after was video with her iPad. I didn't want video... but since there was no video camera in the delivery room, I thought it was a non-issue. I didn't think about Mom's Ipad. Looking back, I am happy she did it now. She didn't get any "X rated" shots and it was just a small clip of his first cry as soon he was delivered. I am happy I have that now.

@dagret: AF has been visiting me for the past 2 months. Not happy about it.

@allison: Your last line cracked me up! Definitely a goal of mine as well, haha.

@dagret: Still AF-free here Enjoying it while it lasts, although I probably just jinxed myself too!

@Cain13: How awesome! I never would have thought I would want any of it on video, but now after going thru it all I totally wish I had it all captured. Definitely will next time around!

I have been graced with AF for 4 months now cause we FF and it has been horrendous.

@oliviaoblivia: no fever here yet, although we've talked about when we might try starting for a second one. eee so you have baby fever now? how exciting!
