    @travellingbee: that's great! Progress!

Part of me feels a little like I am missing out on that one last very painful push and the sense of relief after baby comes out and part of me few relieved that I don't need to labor in pain.

DD #2 was born Dec 16 at 8 pounds and 20.4 inches long. Surgery was smooth but now I can't wait to feel like myself! Will update with more details when I feel more energetic.

Thanks everyone! I'm doing much better now. The surgery was so smooth and baby is healthy. I didn't feel a thing! The most painful part of the surgery was getting the IV in my arm. Even the anesthesia in the spine needle hurt less than that.

The recovery though was not so fun. I felt so gross after not showering for even one day cuz my body felt cold but then very hot and so I was a bit sweaty. I had all these wires on me, and legs stuck in these compression socks and massage device for like 24 hours. Felt like throwing up here and there but luckily I never actually did. I guess it's to be expected after a surgery but it still sucked. And of course I couldn't eat although I didn't get super hungry.

But the next day I got out all the wires removed (IV, oxygen saturation, etc...) and those damn leg massage things off and got to shower. I felt human again. And hallelujah I got to eat!! Each day is much better and only the first 24 hours after the surgery were really crappy. Then came the engorged boobs. But that's already feeling better.

I'm just so thankful there's a nursery I can send DD to so I get to sleep between midnight and just after breakfast. I wish we had a nursery at home where I can be like - "ok thanks I'll be back for her at 7 am!"

Anyways baby and I are both doing very well. It's nice to have so much support in the hospital while I recover.

@gracecat: Congratulations!! Glad you're feeling human again after a shower and some rest!

I am trying to decided between RCS and VBAC. LO#1 was a c-section because he was breech and my doctor is pushing for a VBAC. But, I reallllly don't want to labor and then have it end in an emergency repeat c-section. I have a c-section scheduled for 1/11 (at 1pm- easy to remember!) but if she comes before then, I'll have to make a game time decision.

@gracecat: congratulations!!! Glad to hear it was smooth.... After the 24 hour mark

@QueensBee: i totally see the dilemma. Laboring then a c section is a bad combination. :(. Are there any other reasons they know of right now as to why it could end up in a c section if baby isn't breech this time? Size?

  14. QueensBee

    pear / 1718 posts

@gracecat: No, my first LO was born at 7 lbs, at 38 weeks. Labor started on it's own (my water broke) and the only reason I needed a c-section was because he was breech. I've had two very healthy and uneventful pregnancies (knock on wood). So, the doctor thinks I'm a perfect candidate for a VBAC.

However, my friend was recently in my exact situation (breech LO#1) and ended up needing an emergency c-section after attempting the VBAC, so her experience has made me a little pessimistic...

@QueensBee: when are you due, in relation to your CS date?

  16. gracecat

    clementine / 878 posts

@QueensBee: yeah that is discouraging... How important is it to you to have a VBAC? Would you regret it a lot if you didn't experience vaginal birth?

  17. QueensBee

    pear / 1718 posts

@DesertDreams88: My due date is 1/10 and the c-section date is 1/11, so right at 40 weeks.

@gracecat: It's not important to me at all. I had a very positive c-section experience with my first! My main concern is that we're not sure if we want 2 or 3 kids, and I know a VBAC would make the next pregnancy and delivery less risky, should we decide to have #3.

Can you all just make the decision for me? I am drinking my raspberry leaf tea as I type this...

    clementine / 878 posts

@QueensBee: omg same here! Undecided on a third... The thought of being cut open a third time gives me the heebie jeebies too. I obviously chose the repeat c section. Its extremely difficult to find a convenient or affordable hospital or doctor here that will do a VBAC here. Plus I didn't feel the need to go through so much pain and labor. But yes it's a hard decision!

I've had a few strong irregular contractions tonight. Thought it might stuff getting started but it hasn't gone anywhere yet. I did just lose a whole bunch of gross mucus plug... Idk if it's still just same old gearing up or what.

I had some strong contractions last night and just as I pulled my phone out to pull up the app, they stopped! With my daughter, I never had contractions until I was in labor! This kid is already playing tricks on me!!

It's 2am on the night before my induction and I'm WIDE awake. Cant sleep a wink!!! How am I supposed to "get rest" the night before I know I'm going to have my baby. I always have terrible insomnia in this kind of situation. I didn't sleep before my wedding either. I want sleeeeep...

@travellingbee: Awwwww I'm sorry , I know how that feels. Do you have any hypnobirthing audio meditation tracks or something similar? It's the only thing that could get me to sleep when I was wired/anxious with my first pregnancy and as a new mom. Weird I know but it worked!
