Thanks for creating!!
So I didn't get any sleep last name got due to stronger contractions and having to do a 24 urine collection to test for preeclampsia. I was supposed to see my OB this morning to drop off the urine and get some black of tests.
I was also asked to monitor my BP and when the avg went to 149/100, we packed up and went to L&D. They tested my 24 hour sample there and indeed I had protein and high BP. I'm was admitted for the sole purpose of monitoring my BP. I had even stronger contractions and got checked and I was 2cm dilated and lost my mucus plug. An hour later I was 4cm so we went in for a CS (we knew this bc baby B was transverse breech). As soon as I measured 4cm, I was prepped and babies were born about 30 mins later!!!
Baby A is 4lb 5oz, 16.75", and breathing great on her own. Baby B is 4lb 1oz, 17.5", and on cpap. She's not on extra oxygen and from what I understand, is the minimal form of breathing support. Doing very well for my 33w2d twins!!!!
We're over the moon and thrilled they're thriving in the nicu. I'm pumping 6-10mL per session to feed them through the tube. SO pleased with that. Im on magnesium and can't wait to eat a meal tomorrow :). It was a whirlwind and quick and I'm so happy they're here.

Hello! Here's my go at a quick update...
I was in L&D last Monday for contractions and learned I have high blood pressure and low iron. So this past Monday at my OB appt, she asked me to do a 24 hour urine collection and get a blood pressure cuff to monitor at home. I started the 24 hour collection Tuesday morning and my avg BP continued to rise. Once the avg got to 149/100, we went to L&D Wednesday early morning with my collection. They tested it and it was positive for preeclampsia. So I was given a steroid shot and admitted for BP monitoring. I told them I was having contractions and they hooked me up - called the dr immediately. They checked me and I went from 2cm to 4cm in less than an hour. Ten mins later I was in for a c section and babies were born!!
At first baby B needed some help breathing, but now both are breathing on their own! Neither are tolerating feedings, so that's the next hurdle. Thanks for the support!!! We have a long road and expecting at least a couple weeks in nicu.
@momtimes3: 32 weeks was our first goal and 34 was our second guess we split the difference!! You can do it!!

@MrsYellowJacket: So fast! Were you ready at home for them? Great news about their breathing. Hope that they are able to eat soon!

@travellingbee: yes! Luckily we spent the weekend organizing, doing laundry, packing our bags and bags for the pups!!! I had a feeling so I asked hubby to load our bags and told him we were heading to L&D instead of our regular OB appt. lol

@MrsYellowJacket: Congratulations! Glad those babies are breathing on their own.

@mrs.shinerbock: me too!!! At this point they're even tolerating feedings and putting on a little weight. I was finally able to hold them a couple hours ago. My heart exploded.
I've had a rough recovery. I got a blood transfusion overnight and I think it has made a world of difference.

Yup I check in to the hospital tomorrow! (Tuesday for me). Desperately hoping nobody in my family catches the bronchitis and noro virus that's been making the rounds... Thanks I will update here when anything interesting happens. It will be Thursday in the U.S. When baby makes an appearance.

Just said good night to my LO for the last time as an only child, for the last time before baby sister arrives. I feel kind of sad. For her and for me. I think I'm going to miss her the most while I'm in the hospital. And I'm worried about how she is going to deal w/ no longer having her parents all to herself. Sigh...

@gracecat: Aw, good luck today mama! Your DD will be an amazing big sister. I had so much anxiety around DD2's birth and felt awful about DD1 losing my sole attention but she has truly blossomed as a big sister. She now has the love and adoration of her little sister and is becoming such a wonderful role model. Having two is the best thing I ever could have done for her.

Thanks ladies! I'm checked in and DH and Dd have left for the night. Next mission - finish removing darn gel/shellac polish from my toes. Really?! Why didn't I do this earlier??

@gracecat: ha ha! I happen to be awake- yay pregnancy insomnia... So much luck to you! This is so exciting! I had very painful contractions last night and thought for a minute I might be headed into labor but no.
clementine / 878 posts
@travellingbee: Oh no! Painful but non productive contractions? How long did that last?
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
@gracecat: well I go in tomorrow morning for my check up so we'll see if they were productive in any way. All evening. Irregular but painful. Then they were about every 15 minutes for about 2 hours. I lost more mucus plug. I feel like I'm in a long slow early labor (that will likely last for weeks!)
clementine / 878 posts
@travellingbee: oh wow that would be good, let us know if they say you've made progress!
Which would you rather have? Fast and super painful or progressive/long/milder? My friend's water broke around 5 am and baby was out by 7 am! She said it hurt like hell and was very intense. Total insanity.... It was her second LO.
With DD1 I was in labor from Dec 25-27. Long and slow. I'm not sure which one I would have preferred. This time I have no choice though.

@gracecat: hope everything is going well! AFM 70% effaced, 1.5 cm, very loose clear cervix so yes I've been losing mucus plug. Baby is down, sitting on bladder

@gracecat: thinking of you!
My first labor was days long c-section called 57 hours after we arrived at the hospital.... Not counting the time I labored at home. My three will all be c-sections, I've labored enough for one lifetime.
