I've been eating like a cow all week too. 17.5 weeks and just am starving all day!!

@winniebee: same - but then it makes me really sick/overfull. And I need a new bra asap! I think I'm stretching out all my fancy ones!
I told my boss this week. Went surprisingly ok but was still awkward trying to fill the silences - had to remember not to apologise! Feeling heaps better about it now & that I can relax. I don't know how long I'll wait to tell rest of the office. I feel like they can wait haha.

I have also been eating like a pig - more so this week than ever. I had a whole cheesesteak for lunch yesterday (which I never do) and I still was looking for more things to pick at/snack on.
@Nutella: Isn't it such a relief to tell work? I felt like it was a weight off my shoulders

@winniebee: @Nutella: @BeatlesFan629: also hopping aboard the more eating express. In the mornings I am dying for food. I have to shovel it in quick so I can chase after my daycare toddler and my own. Hoping to keep my weight a bit more controlled this time because it sky rocketed last time....I blame all the bagels and bread I ate in the first tri and beyond.
I feel at such a stand still with being pregnant. Seems like time is dragging so slowly and not much is happening. I'm desperate to feel something but am only 13.5 weeks and didn't feel anything until 20 last time. I was hoping for some random bubbles that I felt early last time, but so far nothing.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Mrs. Goose: There is hope! I felt movement at 20 with my first (anterior placenta) and with my second felt movement starting at 14/15 weeks (posterior placenta). I'm stuck with an anterior placenta again this time and have only felt movement during ultrasound or if I bend a certain way (17.5 weeks).
pear / 1737 posts
@winniebee: that would be nice! I am waiting to hear about my placenta location...my next appointment with the midwife is in a week and a half so I assume they'll tell me from the ultrasound then.

Has anyone begun shopping for their little yet?! I haven't because we are waiting to find out the gender but over the last few days am feeling like we should start so my last trimester isn't overwhelming
apricot / 356 posts
@Mrs. Goose: I think I started feeling something at about 13-14weeks.. but it felt so early..but now at 16 I'm sure I can feel the baby!
@Makingbabyw: we found out on Monday that it's a boy, so we can reuse all of my first son's stuff! So no real need for shopping. The only things we will probably need are season appropriate clothing for the first few months..So not available yet !!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Mrs. Goose: @winniebee: yes I'm not sure where my placenta is either actually - they didn't comment on it other than it being there! I expected to feel more movement by now but I will wait patiently until I do!
Has anyone experienced the crazy headaches? Combined with a bit of nausea and vomiting? I had zero vomiting in the first tri but now if I have dinner early or don't have breakfast on time I will start throwing up like crazy even if there's nothing in the tank
The headaches are pretty annoying since I can't take my usual stuff. Maybe my golden trimester will start a little bit later!
@BeatlesFan629: yes I felt so much better afterwards! I don't really care what anyone else there thinks but I just wanted to make sure my boss was somewhat ok! It's 12 months leave here so a bit more time away.

@Nutella: I have started getting headaches, but I'm wondering if I'm not drinking enough.
apricot / 356 posts
@Nutella: I've been getting headaches quite often this pregnancy. Probably not drinking enough, not enough fresh air and not feeling too well on general. Hoping it gets better soon.
I've got an posterior placenta, but I don't know the difference between the two. Haven't looked it up yet.

@Nutella: I've been getting headaches a lot, and I know it's from being dehydrated. They always come on days I'm running around and not drinking water. Which seems to happen way too often.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Mrs. Goose: @mamainthesun: @Calibee: thanks ladies - I'm def guilty of dehydrating myself so this is a good reminder to keep drinking water! It's summer over here so it's easy to get overheated I think!

How is everyone feeling ??
I finally think my nausea is gone but have been having acid reflux the last few days...erk don't know which one is better !!
grape / 81 posts
Hey ladies! I am having this burning/bruise/sore muscle sensation under my bra line (but not where the bra touches). It feels like it should look bruised but its not. It gets worse at night. Last night I woke up after a cough which started a really painful spasm in the same spot. Is this just growing pains or is it something to worry about? Any suggestions on how to relieve the pain?

@HawaiianGirl: Yay! Congrats!
@mamainthesun: Ugh, sorry you have acid reflux. I've had it on and off since I was about 8 weeks and it is not fun. Very uncomfortable

@mamainthesun: ugh that stinks. Tums is your friend!

Had a little freak out today and went to the OB for a doppler check. All is ok but I'm really getting very anxious for my anatomy scan next week.
apricot / 356 posts
@honey786: I remember having something like that with my last pregnancy..But only a few times..I didn't ask the doctor about it because I didn't have it enough..I just assumed it was growing pains..Hope it stops quickly !
@winniebee: I hate taking stuff..But I definitely will look into it because with my first it was until the very end and horrible !
cherry / 187 posts
@winniebee: I'm sorry to hear that but I'm glad you were able to get checked and everything is ok!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@winniebee: oh hope you're feeling ok! Bring on the anatomy scans! Mine is 24th Feb by the way.
Eek, just had to tell HR and was blindsided by how snarky she was going to be! It was embarrassing as she asked if it was planned. & acted surprised since I've only just come back to work (started in May) - so I'm feeling really annoyed. She did that thing of 'it's good news!' With her mouth but her face and voice totally did not match

@winniebee: Glad to hear everything was ok!
@Nutella: Ugh! That's so annoying. I hate when you can tell people are just faking it. My direct boss and my principal know that I'm pregnant, but I'm avoiding setting up my meeting with HR. I don't think she'll be too mean, but she's not the easiest person to deal with on anything so I'm trying to just wait until I have to do it.
I had another appointment yesterday and everything looked good. I have to do the one hour glucose test next week because I had gestational diabetes with DS. All I want to do is avoid the 3 hour test, which is so miserable. I had to do it twice with DD and hated every minute.

@Nutella: That is super rude! Are you in Canada? I forget!

@winniebee: I'm in NZ we get 12 m mat leave, 18 weeks of which is paid by government & employers can choose to top up to your normal pay (my company does not). I think she may have been having an off day, but she's also not a baby/kid person so I don't e pact her to fully understand...but in saying that you expect a basic level of humanity right!
@JennyG: good luck for your meeting whenever it ends up being. I'm a pretty private person at work so this is way out of my comfort zone! I hope she's nice and normal for you!
Ew that 3 hour test is gross right! I went straight to that one last time for no reason other than that was my OB's protocol. I think the fasting was the worst!
I am totally hanging out for movement right now - I've had nothing since the early flutters a few weeks ago!! Trying to stay calm
apricot / 286 posts
@mamainthesun: I had annoying acid reflux last time. It hasn't started up yet, but I'm sure it's coming.
@JennyG: Good luck with your glucose test! It's no fun...but at least you're getting it over with?
Finally felt the baby move yesterday. I was getting impatient!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@mamainthesun: thanks! It's just gas if anything at this point I'm still nauseous when I brush my teeth so that's something. And also hungry all the time...
apricot / 286 posts
@Nutella: This is such a weird time in pregnancy. No constant first trimester symptoms (hopefully!)...no consistent baby movement.
Sometimes I half forget I'm pregnant. My husband and I were talking about a trip we wanted to take in September, and suddenly it was like - wait we're going to have a newborn. No vacations this summer!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
So jealous of all this talk of movement! I have one of the earliest due dates and haven't felt anything that I can be sure is movement yet (except during ultrasounds when they are jamming the probe on my belly!) I am getting so impatient!
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Calibee: I forget too!! And I hear you on the no holidays, we will be homebodies for a while I think. Agree it's such a weird time!
@winniebee: don't worry, I'm guilty of jabbing my tummy just to see if I feel anything and then nothing which makes me feel a bit silly.
I'm excited yet nervous for the anatomy scan! Praying all is healthy of course. Decided will be finding out the sex for sure - I've struggled to not shop so far (& have probably saved some money) but I think YOLO I want to know for as much time as I can! Curious about everything that is going on in there.
apricot / 356 posts
@Calibee: I also tend to forget that were expecting another baby! We haven't prepared anything yet and I feel like we have so much time!
Did anyone feel like this with their second (or third)??
@winniebee: it will come! I'm really surprised Im feeling it so early ... When did you start feeling with your other pregnancies ?
@Nutella: same here...I'll be happy when the scan will be done..Its so important
