    @mamainthesun: 20 with my first (anterior placenta), 14-15 with my second (all day by 17w!) and 17 with my third (but not much because he had serious health issues). Hopefully soon!

    @Nutella: I do this too 😂

    @Calibee: I don't feel like I'm pregnant half the time too! We're in the process of selling our house and buying a new one so this whole pregnancy has been on the backburner. I feel like July will be here before I know it and it'll be like, oh crap..I'm having a baby! lol

    @winniebee: I'm sorry you haven't felt him yet, but hopefully you will soon!

    I've felt mine for a few weeks on and off, but now that I'm getting farther along, its starting to worry me that I don't feel him more. I feel like as time goes on, I should be feeling some kind of harder movements, more consistently but it seems to be the same intensity/frequency as it was two weeks ago. I think I'm destined to be paranoid no matter what!

    @BeatlesFan629: We're in the middle of a massive remodel (and still living in our house...ugh). Between that and a toddler, I don't have a lot of bandwidth left to plan for a baby. But you're right - July is going to be here before we know it! Good luck with the buying and selling process!

    For those of you with 2+ kids, what did you need to buy for a second baby? Once we know if this is a boy or girl, I'll know if I need to buy clothes. And I of course know I need diapers.

    But so far my list has two things on it: second camera for the monitor and the little skateboard looking thing you attach to the stroller so toddler can ride.

    We will also be buying new furniture for the toddler. Baby will move into the nursery pretty much as is.

    But we kept pretty much everything from baby #1, so I feel like I don't really need much. Which is great. But feels like it can't possibly be right.

    @Calibee: Good luck with the remodel! I don't know about you, but we kind of had the "lets do this now, before we add another kid to the mix" mentality, but it sure does add some unwanted stress/pressure to everything!
    Looking forward to hearing some ideas from other ladies regarding your post. We know we're having a boy (and we already have a girl) so clothes will be a must, but like you we're getting our toddler the new furniture and the baby will have her old stuff. I can't think of too much we need, but I could be wrong!

    @Calibee: Here's what we got for #2 (like you got new furniture for toddler and baby moved into nursery): diapers, new pacifiers and bottle nipples, second breast pump (free), double stroller (my 4.5 year old still uses it sometimes!), second sound machine, Ktan (had just the bjorn with first), backpack diaper bag. We were gifted lots of clothes and the Ergo. Seems like a lot when we seemed to have *everything* from #1!

    Did you ladies hear Beyoncé is pregnant with twins?? I'm so excited haha. 🎤🎤🎤

    ETA: I wonder when she's due!?

    @Nutella: hahaha no not yet!

    @Calibee: good idea! I've been wondering what we need to get too!

    @winniebee: why did you get a second breast pump? Was it a better one?

  9. Calibee

    apricot / 286 posts

    @winniebee: Ooh good call on the second sound machine. I also need to check out the condition of my bottles. My daughter wasn't a big bottle fan, so they weren't used much.

    @Nutella: I get ridiculously excited when celebrities are pregnant at the same time I am!

    @mamainthesun: I got the exact same one. It was free through insurance so I had a spare and left it at our lake house. I'll get a third one this time if it is free and leave it at my moms.

    Do we want to start a separate bump thread?

    pomelo / 5132 posts

    @winniebee: I was just thinking about that! Let's do it. Maybe I should take some bump pictures haha

    pomelo / 5132 posts

    @Calibee: yes, get a second pump! I left one at work and one at home after DS2.

    For DS2, we got new nipples (and ultimately new bottles when he didn't like what we had), more cloth diapers, and a Solly wrap instead of the ktan I had. We had so much from DS1! Our stroller was already convertible to a double, so I just got the second seat/adapters

    @winniebee: exciting! Can't wait to see everyone's legitimate bumps. Haha. I feel mine is barely there.

    @Mrs. J: I started two weeks ago and my daughter was clinging so now she's going to be a regular. She's really into finding her belly button right now so we have taken cute pics where she is looking for hers and pointing at mine. I love it. My bump is mostly just chub right now and I think I feel like I look way bigger than I do because I look at the pics and think that doesn't even look like a pregnant person...

    Yeah for the bump thread!! At least I'll have to take pictures now! I keep forgetting!!

    I'm thinking of getting a waterproof sling as it will be summer and we're going on a beach holiday in February..Has anyone got one? Is it worth it?

  17. Calibee

    @mamainthesun: My friend lives in Hawaii. She raved about her waterproof sling! Loved being able to wear her little guy in the pool and ocean.

    Hi ladies. Congrats to you all! I'm joining late.

    Location: Midwest

    EDD: July 27th

    First child? 2nd. DS is 2.5

    Any symptoms? All day morning sickness till about a week or so ago

    Who have you told? Pretty much everyone at this point

    Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Well, we just had an elective ultrasound and I'm feeling a bit of disappointment (and guilt) about it. Otherwise, I'm excited to have another little baby to snuggle.

    @winniebee: excited for you to see your baby again and hear great news.

    Had a midwife appointment today and my due date is July 29th! Booked my anatomy scan for march 10th and we're finally going to finish telling most of our family today!

    @smores: welcome!

    @winniebee: Our anatomy scan is Thursday also!

    I'm a bit nervous about the anatomy scan this time around. Because we didn't find out about the baby right away, I opted to do the second trimester quad screen, and my risk for Down's Syndrome came back as a slightly increased risk. They pushed my anatomy scan to be a little early so they can check for signs of DS. I'm trying to be positive - baby will be loved either way, and our risk was still less than 1%, but it's still a lot to take in.

  32. just_ju

    cherry / 195 posts

    Oh, and I forgot to update before - we are 99% sure baby is a

    We had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago to verify our July 4 due date and the u/s tech was pretty certain.

    @winniebee: good luck!!!
    @just_ju: a girl! How fun! Hope everything looks well at your scan.

    I have a normal appt on Friday; I'll be 16 weeks on Thursday. Then, we leave on vacation on Sat! So excited.

    @just_ju: I'm sorry that you are having anxiety about your ultrasound as well. So many people look at the anatomy scan as just "what are we having" and it stinks to not be able to have that carefree outlook, too. I hope everything goes well for you guys!!

  36. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @Mrs. J: Nice, where are you guys going? We are looking to go somewhere in April but with being like 29 weeks pregnant and Zika....options are so limited!

    So I had my anatomy scan this morning and turns out we are having a BOY?! What? Seriously? I am shocked. As the Mom of two girls I had just assumed we were having one more so I am surprised, but excited.

    Unfortunately, the Dr also noted that our baby has echogenic bowel (brightened bowel). I was really nervous for this ultrasound since our 12w scan resulted in an increased risk for downs and it is even worse to have all those fears realized. We did some more blood tests today for CF for my husband (my CF test was negative but apparently they don't test for all 500+ strands) and CMV for me. I am hoping they bring us some peace of mind and we can avoid amino, but only time will tell. This boy is really bringing me on an emotion roller coaster over here.

    @winniebee: We also want to go somewhere before I'm too pregnant to travel. We went to Cabo last time, but I'm pretty sure travel to the area isn't advised right now because of Zika.

    But I really want to go somewhere warm and tropical!

  39. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @purplelilac: Congrats on your BOY! I know a bit about echogenic bowels (my friend's baby had this with her most recent pregnancy, so I did some research). She did test positive for CMV, but has no idea when she had it. Her baby boy was fine throughout pregnancy and was born totally healthy a few weeks ago. Echnogenic bowel is one of those soft markers that usually means nothing. My son had an echogenic foci on his heart at his anatomy scan (which again can be a soft marker) and it turned out to be nothing at all. I am very sorry for this extra worry! Please keep us posted!

    @Calibee: yeah Mexico and pretty much all of the Caribbean is off the list I'm even nervous about Florida. We are thinking maybe Hilton Head? But it won't be that warm.
