@lilteacherbee: It IS really annoying. The ultrasound tech apparently didn't even know what charting was. I told her I knew when I ovulated and she just brushed that aside...We'll see at future appointments but I still think I'm 7w4d today. I could *maybe* have ovulated one day later based on my chart, but not 3. When I do the chart stack for previous months it is obvious that I have an ovulation temp - my temp is always the exact same on O day.
@beachbee: So, after a previous attempt at cio - which I swore I would never do and HATED, we used the "sleep lady shuffle" method this time and it has worked so much better. DD used to only be nursed to sleep - now I am nursing her before her bath and putting her down after her bedtime routine, she cries for about 2 minutes and then goes right to sleep. It's been 12 days now, and she is still waking once - we go in, give her a hug and some water if she's thirsty and she's back to sleep within 5-10m. I really like this method, even though it was rough at first, because at least you stay in the room so I knew that she was ok and getting reassurance from my presence. After a few days, she figured it out and is falling asleep pretty easily now.

    @Duckling: congratulations!

Nothing really new here. I have my first appt on 11/5 and will be 10w1d per my calculations. My early risk assessment/ultrasound is scheduled for 11/20. I am hoping to wait to tell family until after our ultrasound but I may end up telling my mom on her birthday which is 11/16. I'm not in as much of a rush this time as I was with DS. Maybe because I remember all the badgering about names, etc and I am not ready to deal with that again. I'm sure I'm going to hear lots of advice about weaning DS and I am afraid I may snap at someone if they do.

I've been quiet lately with my bad nausea but I have been peeking at all the comments every day or so Congrats and yay for all the other June mums who have joined

Yik I've been feeling pretty crappy for about 3 weeks now - so over it! Really hoping it will end soon, I've been given these special wafer things by my doc which take the edge off which is great! Anyone else got morning sickness pretty bad?

In better news I had a dating scan a week ago and it was so cool, I was really relieved to see that the baby was in there, in the right place doing the right thing lol! I was tracking about 3 days ahead which was good and saw the lil heart beat!

I've only told my parents so far! Holding out for 12 weeks to tell everyone else if I can - Haven't seen any of my friends lately which has been convenient hehe! and have managed not to say anything at work yet. I'll be 9 weeks on the weekend..

Hope everyone else is feeling well!

My u/s was supposed to be tomorrow but they're bringing me in today because I've had pink spotting for a few days now and we didn't want to take any chances with my loss history. Kind of scared.

I've been nauseous 24/7 since week 5 but I haven't actually thrown up yet. Sometimes I think I'd feel better if I did.

I've told a few of my besties...we're telling the in-laws over Thanksgiving cause we're flying out to see them and will tell my parents shortly after that when we see them in early December. We'll probably go "public" closer to Christmas.

My first appointment is Nov. 5th, can't wait to see if everything is going well!

@Spaniellove, keep us posted about your appointment today, hoping you receive nothing but good news.

@spaniellove: hoping your spotting is just due to the progesterone & they change that for you. Thinking positive thoughts for you!

I think I'm getting used to this pattern now with the appointments being "okay news with a catch". We saw the heartbeat which was reassuring but it was also the second appointment in a row where I caught the nurse saying the measured age was behind our dates. I think at 5 weeks it measured 4 weeks 3 days and today at 6 weeks 6 days it measured 6 weeks 1 day. Hard not to obsess about that!

Oh and one more thing...I'm supposed to finally call the OB so I can start transitioning. I didn't tell her I never actually decided on one!

    nectarine / 2705 posts

@spaniellove: Glad to hear that you saw the heartbeat today! Did they take any other precautions, other than moving up the u/s for the spotting you were having? More progesterone? I know it's hard not to obsess over the details - it's what has kept you going all this time for so long. For now, just keep talking to your belly and telling it to grow

  16. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@sweetooth: They're fairly confident the spotting from some kind of irritation because my cervix has been closed and measuring fine so they're taking me off the Endometrin and having me do the PIO everyday.

    pear / 1786 posts

@spaniellove: So glad you saw the heartbeat!!! I really can't imagine with a baby that tiny, the measurements would ever be perfectly accurate. I'm no MD but there are also tons of stories where babies "catch up"! So happy that you had an overall good visit!

@spaniellove: glad that you saw the heartbeat. What was the measurement? So they are taking you off the suppositories? That's good, right?

  19. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I think the CRL was 5mm. But I'm trying to just let it go since there's nothing to be gained by obsessing about this. And yes, everything feels better without the suppositories!

Question for 2nd time moms...I'm choosing between two OB practices and one is a little bigger while the other is smaller with two drs and a midwife (but I don't know how they split their time between two practices). Supposedly the bigger practice doesn't guarantee that one of their doctors will be available to deliver and I've read some complaints that their patients ended up delivering with random on call doctors. Is this common?

  23. beachbee

    kiwi / 673 posts

@spaniellove: so glad you got to hear the heartbeat!! and yay for no more suppositories... I did a happy dance when those were done our OB office is rather large and from what I understand one of the doctors in the practice will do the delivery. I have never heard of random on-call doctors from the hospital delivering, that seems odd to me. then again, I am not excited about possibly delivering with a doctor that I may have only met once at a check-up early in the pregnancy..

Ugh, I lost my job today. They are doing big cuts globally and I was one of them. I'm upset now, but I hope I'll get over it. Even after my first one was born, I toyed with the idea of not going back, but was too chicken to actually do it. I'm hoping this is God's way of saying I should stay home with my kids.
    But it still sucks.

@BabyBruins: I'm so sorry to hear about your job! I lost mine after LO was born last year and although I was very upset at first, I really felt like it was the best thing that could've happened. I was able to stay home with LO for 9 mos and then took a part time job that I really love. I hope this turns into something positive for you as well.
