If I were going to announce on FB (rather than through Christmas cards), I'd take a cute photo of my son at my dad's office and say he's being promoted.
As it is, I think I'm just going to take a cute Christmas photo and sign it "Me, DH, DS, and Baby X." If I can get DS to do the "shhhh…" sign, I might try to turn that into something with him having a secret, but I can only do so much candy bribery...

@MrsBrewer: yay, so exciting! I am planning to try to take a pic of my LO saying, "I'm thankful I'm going to be a big sister" or "I'm thankful I'm going to have a little brother/sister"...but she has a cold and hasn't been very cooperative. Hopefully, I will still be able to get her to do it. I plan to use that pic to announce to my family and close friends. I think we are leaning towards NOT telling my husband's family until after Thanksgiving, so I am going to go shopping tomorrow for a belly covering top or something! That also rules out a FB announcement. I also like the idea of having LO hold a sign that says, "I asked Santa for a real baby"... so maybe we'll do that for FB.

I had my NT scan today and got the first trimester genetic testing back - everything looks good. LO was being a ham so we got some really good pics. The tech even did 4D us (which was kind of creepy).
We announce to parents tonight!

Geez, have not heard from the genetic counseling folks. I called around 1pm and the receptionist said they were with patients and she'd leave a message. I'm getting antsy as I believe they close at 4. Can't believe I might have to wait another week!

@78h2o I haven't heard anything either I trie calling and I think everyone is at luch. Uuuugh this is killing me. I'm going to keep calling lol I want to know our little munchkin is healthy and Black Friday is in a couple days and I'd love to know sex of baby to buy a couple things....

OMG, the phone finally rang, just as I was getting ready to call them!!!
I tried to be all cool about it, but when they said the 13/18/21/sex chromosome results were normal and did I want to know the gender, I totally got choked up and couldn't answer! Oh man, I felt silly! I think it was a combination of being so relieved that the test was negative and the enormity of being about to know the gender of our (most likely) last child hitting me. Anyway, she said baby is a
and I totally had a ridiculous cry. NO idea why?!?! Hormones are crazy. The poor lady was like, "I hope that's a good cry." My husband happened to call the minute I got off the phone with her, so I told him. He just responded, "Yeah, I knew it." I said, "Are you excited?!" He said, "Yeah, but like I said, I knew it." Haha.@hocuspocus: Yay!!!!! So glad you were able to find out! It will be awesome for the cousins to be so close in age. My SIL and her cousin are close in age and pretty much like sisters.

I was up a lot of the night with J due to her being sick (doc said ear infection and conjunctivitis), so today my nausea is way worse due to lack of sleep. J is currently turning into a prune in the bath as I am hanging over the side of the toilet puking. Now that I know it's a girl, I picture another fiesty one like J and keep thinking, "You little stinker, making me so sick!"
I really hope this goes away soon! I do sort of feel like I am getting more energy as I approach the second tri, which is great.

@78h2o I'm not going to lie we were soo sure this lo was a boy! It's still shocking, but the most important thing is that we have a healthy baby! DH is doing a little better, he has two younger sisters that he helped take care of and said he's excited. Girl clothes are just so cute too! Noooow we can think of girl names cause we pretty much have zero..

All the wives takes pointed to boy for me so I guess I'm a weirdo that doesn't follow any of them. I've pretty much had no morning sickness.

@78h2o: DH says I want a girl. I have girl names picked out, gender ideas, etc... He says I'm saying I think it's a boy so I can get myself ready to hear them say it's a boy. We are totally finding out. I don't have the patience to wait like I thought! I mean, I'm even looking up elective ultrasound places that can tell at 14 weeks
but I don't think I'd really go to one of those. I hope you and J feel better asap!! @hocuspocus: I'm gonna be the same way if they say boy. We have no boy names or anything!
@MrsBrewer: I forgot to reply to you earlier, we are doing a turkey in the oven announcement tomorrow. I dont feel like taking any pictures!

Just got done with my 10 week appointment. They did the small handheld ultrasound in the room and the baby was a moving like crazy and the heartbeat was strong. It's crazy how much their shape changes from a 6 week blob to a baby!
The doctor caught me saying "she" when referring to the baby but I really have no idea either way!
I have a feeling this is going to mess up our TG plans.
