@Mrs.KMM: OMG the dreams! Yes! You're lucky to have romantic type dreams - mine have all been nightmares, not fun

I'm 20 weeks today, and I told my DH how excited I am to be at the halfway point. He goes, "Maybe you're being a little optimistic. Let's just call next week the half way point, so when you're 42 weeks that'll be right." I just stared at him like
Ha! He was joking, but still... Kind of depressing to think about.

@78h2o: Look at that cute nose!!
I had a crazy dream I was at a meeting for people interested in art, but turned into a sex cult! And I did not want to participate with these strangers! I woke up like WTH!?!! Lol!!

@MamaB: hey, you might deliver at exactly 40!! Keep hope alive lol

@78h2o: Such great pics!!
@Mrs.KMM: I have horny dreams as well. It's a mix between baby things, horny things, or just general things I thought about that day. I have a vivid dream almost every night.

@MrsBrewer: @LindsayInNY: @Jess1483: @Mrs.KMM: @dc yoga bee: @Eko: Thanks! Sorry I bombarded the thread with pics... I was too lazy to figure out which one was best.
I'm jealous of those of you having sexy dreams! I've been having vivid dreams ever since I got pregnant, but only 1 or 2 have been like that... mostly just normal or weird dreams, but a few nightmares too. Hormones are crazy!
@MamaB: Ha! Yeah, doesn't he know those thinks aren't even to be joked about?! Most doctors I know give their patients a really hard time about going past 41 weeks anyway.
I am feeling so much more relieved since the scan this morning. I need to announce on FB... still haven't done that yet. Need to figure out something. I'd like to do DH, LO, and I all reading baby-related books, but it might be hard to pull off with a timer and a 2-year old. I doubt my husband would have the patience for that.
nectarine / 2148 posts
@78h2o: That would be super cute if you could pull that off! Does sound like it could be tricky. I ultimately just did a post, with no picture on facebook. I made some cheeky remarks though and wasn't just oh we're having a baby.

@78h2o: beautiful pictures!
I've been having crazy dreams that my dog is pregnant! It happens almost every week. She has been spayed since she was a puppy! Last night I dreamed the ultrasound machine was broken. Hope that doesn't came true tomorrow at our anatomy scan!

So, I ordered The Birth Partner for DH and I to read together. Last night, I read out loud the directions for perineal massage and DH did the movements in the air laughing the whole time. Ha! I was cracking up too.
Here's the uncomfortable question! Did you do it with your first pregnancy (for all you second time moms), or are you planning on doing it to try and prevent tearing/episiotomy?

@dc yoga bee: Just realized I never responded about the registry stuff! I don't know what I'm going to do about duplicates... I know BBB has a number of items that BRU does not. So I don't know?
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@MamaB: I didn't do it at all in advance. I think the doctor did a little bit while I was pushing. When my sister gave birth, her nurse did it for awhile.
Maybe I will look into it a bit. I did a quick search and found this article, which makes it look like it helps a bit (but probably doesn't have a huge impact). http://hosp.gcnpublishing.com/fileadmin/jfp_archive/pdf/5707/5707JFP_ClinicalInq3.pdf
It's probably one of those things that can't hurt, might help? I had pretty bad 2nd degree tears that I would REALLY like to avoid if possible.

Anatomy scan went wonderfully and we are so excited to be having a little GIRL! Can't believe it. We got a ton of pictures but I love this one with her little nose. She was stretching and rubbing her eyes and trying to suck her thumb. So incredible!

@rpparker: Oh, so sweet!!!! Great pic! Congrats on your baby girl! Isn't it neat to watch them moving around in there?! I was bummed my husband wasn't able to go with me... he hasn't been able to go to any of my scans and I feel like he is missing out!
I can't believe how many girl babies we're having in this group.

@rpparker: Congrats! What a great shot!!
Baby girls seem to be all over the place on our board but it looks like my husband and I are adding a baby boy to the mix!! (Eek!) Ultrasound yesterday went well -- baby boy was all kinds of active in there.

@extrasprinkles: yay! Congrats on your little boy! Do you have a pic?!

I feel like my belly has really popped. I had several strangers ask my due date, etc. today.
Here's a pic tonight in non-maternity lounge wear.

@extrasprinkles: Yay for boys! I'd love to see a picture from your scan if you have one! Our anatomy scan is Monday and I'm so excited!

Where have you guys found to be the best place for maternity clothes? I've been rocking the maternity pants for a while but haven't bought a lot of maternity shirts yet (but my normal shirts are starting to look really dumb).
nectarine / 2148 posts
@78h2o: @BabyMats: You mamas look great!!!
@Mrs.KMM: I had a good score run with motherhood maternity brand so far. Well, I like their shirts so far. I ordered a pair of work pants through them, but they were the Jessica Simpson brand and are really great! I have a pair of gap jeans, which are ok, but not as nice as a pair of a pea in a pod pants I also have. Shirts though I really like the motherhood maternity. I have some shirts in non-maternity that are a size up from my normal size and have found recently they are not long enough. I've been re-wearing a lot of my pre-pregnancy cardigans and work jackets.

@78h2o @eko @babymats @Mrs.KMM @cascademom Thank you!!! I'm attaching a pic of one of our ultrasound shots -- it looks like he's blowing bubbles but he's sucking on his hand there. It also looks like he has no neck but alas, it's there somewhere.
I haven't really ventured into maternity-wear, but I would not recommend LOFT. This is a bummer b/c I was a huge fan before I became pregnant ... but I found out the hard way that you can't return maternity items in store (the free option) and have to send unwanted items back via mail (not free). Boo.

You ladies are looking great!! Loving the anatomy scans too!
I've had good luck with motherhood maternity, and Old Navy t-shirts for out and about. I found A Pea in the Pod clothes thin and scratchy, and GAP thin and they didn't hold up in the wash.

@extrasprinkles: Congrats on the boy!
I was thinking that we were having a boy for so long that it has honestly taken a little while to adjust to the idea of a girl!
I had some great luck at a children's consignment shop that had a small maternity section. Someone in my size had just dropped off a whole wardrobe worth of items! The Motherhood Maternity items have been my favorite!
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@extrasprinkles: Aww, so cute! You are right, the return situation with Loft sucks! That being said, I have two tops from there that I bought at a consignment shop and they are some of the best fitting/most comfortable tops I have.
My maternity wardrobe is mix of things. I have one Pea In the Pod top I got at consignment that I really like, but I had zero luck in their store. I like the long-sleeve tees from Gap. Most of my work clothes are Motherhood or Target. I have a few things from H&M (cheap leggings, tights, tops, and a cami), Old Navy, and ASOS (a couple dresses). I have two pairs of jeans I wear... one is from gap and another is Joe's Jeans for Pea In the Pod that I got via ThredUp. My favorite work pants are from Gap.
My friend still has some of my maternity clothes, but she is due the first week in February, so hopefully I'll get them back soon! There are a few things I'm really missing. I saw her today and she offered to give them back, but she is so close to her due date I told her just to keep them.

@LindsayInNY: cute cute!
Y'all the hormones have hit me hard this weekend. We were supposed to have our little family gender reveal this weekend and my in laws couldn't make it last minute because my FIL was running a fever. I totally appreciate them staying away and my parents and SIL were still coming but I threw a total fit about it. I might have also been a little hungry at the time
cherry / 234 posts
@rpparker: YES on the hormones. I feel like it's come out of nowhere because I've been so even-keel until now. I've been on the verge of tears multiple times this weekend and cried a few times about the dumbest stuff. I feel so crazy because my rational brain knows I'm crying/about to cry over nothing, but I can't stop it from happening.
apricot / 363 posts
@MamaB: Yes! I hate how you know it's really irrational but you just can't stop it! Hopefully we will both have a more peaceful week!
nectarine / 2031 posts
@LindsayInNY: thats a bump!
@rpparker: @rpparker: yes! Crazy from hormones! I feel crazy. I cried during how to train your dragon 2!

@LindsayInNY: I definitely see a big difference this week! Baby is finally making her appearance!
@rpparker: Yeah, I have definitely been more prone to tears this whole pregnancy. My husband and I see a couples counselor and every single time I have ended up bawling... even when we're just doing a stupid exercise, like sharing something we appreciate about the other person. Eg. "It meant a lot to me... sob... that you... sob... shoveled the sidewalk for me before work." I seriously think the therapist thinks I'm nuts!

Had a bit of a growth spurt in a couple of days.
Funny story went to see our mfm and the us tech came in and said, "Wow! How did you get twins?"
Me: "ummm..sex" I know what she meant by that question but it was funny the way she went about asking if I hyperovulated or if they were ivf.
