@MamaB: I had a somewhat similar day yesterday and today as you did! Not necessarily the cleaning part, but my mom is spending two nights (last night and tonight) at our house with a friend and they stayed up late drinking and being loud. I got about zero sleep and am such a hot mess today! I feel your pain. I've been on the verge of crying all day.

@MamaB: That was me Sunday night! Laid awake all night and couldn't fall asleep until sometime between 5 and 5:30 am. It sucked.

@cascademom: I took a mucinex over the weekend after a crying fit (hormones!) because I was so tired of being stuffy and starting to cough. Then I spent the rest of the day feeling much better but also feeling guilty about the mucinex. You just can't win!
So everyone at my small office knows we are having a girl and naming her Hattie. My boss has started to "introduce" Hattie in meetings with people from outside our office. She is notorious for saying/doing inappropriate and socially awkward things but this is a new one! Even though it's obvious I'm pregnant and it usually comes up in a meeting (looking at future schedules, a polite comment asking how I'm feeling, etc.) my boss just throws it all out there within the first 30 seconds and it is just so so weird. Ok end vent!
So exciting that people are entering their 3rd trimester! June will be here before we know it!

@rpparker: That would drive me bonkers. That is actually one of my only pet peeves, calling the baby by their name before they are born. Not sure why, but it freaks me out. We have a name picked out as well, shared it with family and friends, and if someone calls the baby by his name usually I correct them. I can see though how that is incredibly awkward in a work/meeting environment.

@Eko: Ugh! Exactly. Since we are such a small office I wanted to share it but not for people to use it in everyday conversation and especially not introducing her! We do a monthly local tv news segment and she wanted me to "introduce" the baby on air?? Crazy! I said something like well she's not really ready for that yet and everyone else seemed to understand what I was getting at.

@rpparker: That sounds like my personal pregnancy hell. On air? yikes! Hopefully she can take a hint and catch on. I also shared my name since I work in a small office as well and most people have caught on to the fact that I don't refer to the baby by his name.

@rpparker: That is really crazy!!! Sorry you are having to deal with that!
If anyone needs a laugh, look what my LO did last night with one of my lipsticks! LOL!

This is my 25w4d bump. How do I already feel so large and am not in the third trimester yet?

@78h2o: haha, she's so cute!
@Eko: You look adorable! I feel huge right now at 27 weeks plus.

@78h2o: so hilarious. She so cute!
@Eko: I think u look great too!
Anyone else having to start to go in every 2 weeks to see ob?
nectarine / 2148 posts
@rpparker: Thanks! I feel the same way. I think that everyday.
@cascademom: thanks!
@BabyMats: thanks! I am not going in every two weeks yet. I prescheduled my monthly appointments a while back and will have my last one in a couple weeks. I'll be 28w. I figured my doctor will talk to me then about maybe starting every two weeks.

My in-laws are visiting this weekend. I love love love my MIL. But, my FIL tends to drive me a little crazy. We had some sleet last night and he asked me 5 times this AM if I was going to be okay driving to work. Ha. I was like, "It's fine! The news said the roads are dry." I wanted to say, "Go back to bed! It's 6:30 am. Let me eat my breakfast and watch the news alone!" Lord, help.

@BabyMats: I have my 28 week appt on the 16th, and then I think I start the every 2 week schedule!!
Does the 3rd trimester start at 27 or 28 weeks??
nectarine / 2148 posts
@MamaB: That sounds like you are going to have a fun weekend
@MrsBrewer: I've seen it counted as 27 and 28w. I'm personally saying 27 to make myself feel better about how large I feel.

@MamaB: Oh man!! That's usually my parents more than my in-laws.
Speaking of in-laws, my MIL and SIL decided that they were going to visit this summer with SIL's new baby (while she's still on leave). Well, found out earlier this week that it won't just be them but also FIL and BIL. So 4 adults and 1 infant. Plus DH and I and our LO. All in a two bed, one bath apartment. MIL and FIL have stayed with us before for a week and we've hosted Christmas (and then some) in a one bed with 5 people visiting so it wouldn't be the first time. But the first time it will be with 2 infants in the mix. And I won't be escaping to work during the day (DH will though). DH seems okay with the whole idea but I've asked him if we can reevaluate when the time is closer. It makes me so nervous. I was fine with MIL and SIL but the two guys, I don't know... That's a lot in a little space with 2 infants. I'm stressing myself just thinking about it all now - how it will work (showers, eating, etc.), what to do, etc. OY.

@MrsBrewer: my midwives said it starts at 27!!!
Sorry I've been MIA, just taking a break and trudging along lol. I'm 27 weeks today, start of third trimester! I started lactating last week-FUN! I woke up in the middle of the night, and my shirt was soaked. At least it's only happening at night as of now. When I told the midwife about it she was smiling ear to ear, saying at least we know they work! Errrr, okay. Lol.

@dc yoga bee: Haha. Not laughing at the situation but the midwife's comment!

@MamaB: My in-laws are in town this weekend too. Love them both but my MIL has the whole weekend planned with shopping and a craft show. I can handle the shopping but a craft show is not my idea of a relaxing weekend!
@LindsayInNY: That would be overwhelming to me too!

@LindsayInNY: congrats on viability! You look great!
It's our 3 year anniversary weekend, so I'm excited about a nice dinner. I'm not so excited about having to put on real clothes lol.

@dc yoga bee: Our 3 year anniversary is Tuesday! Hope you have a good time!

@LindsayInNY: That sounds like a lot especially with two newborns. I'd be hesitant to agree to having all of them stay at your place. Also, you look great!

I think my swelling has started up a little bit....I can't put my rings on anymore....boo!! I thought I was going to escape it!
Also we went to the labor and birth class on Saturday, it was awesome!! It was so informative, and I think it helped DH know what to expect more. Plus I think he believes it more hearing it from the instructor versus me just telling him stuff that I read online
Although one thing I'm a little nervous about, they mentioned to really watch out for blood clots towards the end of your pregnancy, and most times they wind up in your legs/calves. Well of course the day after our class, I woke up to the most painful calf pain, and it hasn't gone away now in my left calf. It feels just like a pulled muscle, and I'm sure what it is. But I feel like a hypochondriac even thinking it might be a blood clot....please tell me I'm crazy?!
@LindsayInNY: you look absolutely amazing!! You bump is really starting to pop out now! Plus it's so perfectly round
Beautiful

@MamaB: Yeah, it makes me a bit nervous but there aren't really any alternative options other than less people coming. I'm trying not to think about it right now.

@LindsayInNY: I have my first one this weekend! It's in my hometown hosted by my mom and her friends. It is going to be a Saturday morning brunch in a private room at a restaurant. I'm really looking forward to it.
My friends in the town where I live now are throwing me another one at the end of April!

@MrsBrewer: Could it be a charlie horse? I had a really bad one with LO's pregnancy. Maybe up your potassium or electrolytes with a banana, coconut water, or Gatorade.
I accidentally knicked LO with my engagement ring the other day. It's a high set princess cut ring. Since I was having trouble putting it on, I stopped wearing it this weekend in favor of my wedding band and his green garnet/diamond band. It feels weird without my engagement ring, but anything's better than the swelling.

@LindsayInNY: I'm probably not having one despite my SIL's suggestion of a diaper shower. We lost some good baby gear with the flooding in LO's closet. I'm hoping that the money we get from the damages will cover a new RNP, My Brest Friend pillow, and some other stuff.

@LindsayInNY: My shower is going to be on April 18th! My mom, MIL, SIL, and sister are all throwing it for me. I can't wait!
coconut / 8854 posts
@cascademom: I have no idea! It totally could be. It feels like I was doing calf extensions for 3 hours on Saturday. But it's weird because it's just my left one. Who knows, maybe I slept in a really weird position, and my muscle is just achy. I go to the Dr next Monday. If it's still persisting, maybe I will mention it then.

@MrsBrewer: Hmm, I hope it goes away soon. My next appointment is Wednesday, the dreaded GD test. I'm not looking forward to it, but hoping I pass it.

@LindsayInNY: aww, you look great! I'm sending you a pm about something random! (ETA: oops, looks like you don't have gold, so not sure that I could send a PM? Anyway, I was just going to say that I think I "saw" you on a (BST) buy/sell/trade FB group with the initials, "T. J."? Not to be a creeper, but is that you? If so, small world! )
I've had two people offer to throw me sprinkle showers. They've both asked for guest lists and potential dates and I feel so awkward about it. Not sure who to invite...don't want my hosts to do too much because it's my 2nd baby. Should I have two separate ones, or combine? Agh!
I had a terrible back spasm over the weekend and ended up taking Flexeril (had an old rx). I didn't ask the OB, since I didn't want to call the emergency line over the weekend. I looked it up and it is Cat B, so I decided to go for it because I had been really suffering for days and it was getting worse. I started with just a 1/4 tablet, but took the rest of it throughout the day. It does seem to have helped a lot though. Hopefully I won't need to take any more. I go to the OB tomorrow for my 28 week apt and glucose test. Fun times! I might ask about the Flexeril, but probably won't tell them that I already took it.

@LindsayInNY: My best friend is throwing one in AL (where we are from) on 3/28. Then we are having a local shower on 5/2.
Our crib arrived today, so DH is going to pick it up after work! We also ordered out glider this weekend, and they say it would take 12-14 weeks to arrive. HA! I hope it comes before the baby is born!

@LindsayInNY: I'm having 2 thrown for me - April 11 and April 25!
@MrsBrewer: I bet it is just a leg cramp. I'm pretty sure they are a common pregnancy occurrence at night, especially if you aren't hydrated enough. I've had them a few times the last couple weeks. I get them sometimes not pregnant too. I hate that feeling of waking up to instant charlie horse in your leg!
