Thank you everyone for giving me "permission" to get serious with my research and secret lists! Lately I've been fascinated by baby carriers and what options exist for twins.
This one is my favorite: http://www.twin-pregnancy-and-beyond.com/images/twinsling-250.jpg
It looks like they are in shopping bags!!! Haha....but seriously there are some really cool back/front options that I want to research further.
@RKitty: @RunnerD: I'm glad you both are feeling better!!! I had a bit of pukey action this morning after breakfast. It was odd and basically "one bite"s worth - I think I put pressure on my tummy to soon after eating - in retrospect it was kind of humorous. Reminded me of when you jiggle a newborn too soon after eating. Sad that my stomach is equally undeveloped - hahaha.

@meadow: are you planning to tandem wear? A lot of folks in my local BWI love the twingo!
Is that supposed to be a baby carrier at that link? Because that doesn't look safe at all- you need to be able to see the babies and ideally have them head up and kissable (like you can kiss their heads) ️
I really like this article that kind of shows different ways! Using wraps and ringsling a with teeny babies is usually easiest- SSCs can't be worn on the back until they're sitting unassisted
http://somdbabywearers.weebly.com/blog/category/twins
I'm super into Babywearing so I'd love to help with that aspect and researching I could also help you find a local Babywearing chapter for tips and help with getting carrier info! There's a lot of stuff on the market, that you can buy on Amazon that isn't actually safe

@Mrs. Pink: Sorry - I don't think that my sarcasm came through right in that post. That baby carrier is my "favorite" as in "WHAT IN THE WORLD".... haha. Don't worry - it is the furthest from my mind.
That is really good to know that you are the expert baby wearer in our group. I'd like the option to tandem wear. My ideal baby carrier would be one that could work tandem or solo. I just googled the twingo you suggested - OMG that looks perfect! Bookmarking now Thanks
(PS - Congrats on finishing up on progesterone - I know that was a GREAT day in my journey )

@meadow: it didn't haha-- but I err on the side of serious with Babywearing because some people legit don't know haha (I've seen a fellow with a baby facing out on his back at the store... In a bjorn haha) but I totally missed the comment about it looking like a bag LOL (I need to read better )
I'm a recovering baby wrap addict- I'm a textile junkie and wraps let me collect... I got a wee bit carried away and had like, 30 at my peak. I have a small stash now and am resisting the urge to buy more for the newbie!

@Mrs. Pink: what do you recommend for a ring sling?? I'd like something I can use for newborn or my 20lb toddler.
I know I haven't posted but I've been following along due June 15 with our second lo
GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts
@gotkimchi: I tend to prefer wrap conversions, my toddler (2) is about 20lbs- I know a few people who swear by Girasol Toddler Twill (also called "thicker weave") you can use for a baby and a tot and aren't extremely expensive for woven wrap conversions.
if you want to go brand new marsupial mamas is a good place to look (sweet baby wraps also has some in stock). Otherwise the 2nd hand Facebook Babywearing Swap is a good place to look. I've also had good luck with wraps that are hemp/cotton blends.
If you can't find a particular wrap in ring sling form, you can send it in to Sleeping Baby Productions and she can make it into one- it adds cost but, if you get a size 6 and have it made into 2 slings you can usually sell the other sling and make some of the costs back!

I have a Beco and a Bjorn and a home made moby. I used the two structured carriers when absolutely necessary but hardly used the moby cause DS hated it and I wasn't too good at it myself. I think this time I am going to need to use them a lot so I'm going to try to get the moby wrap to work better this time.

@Pastemoo: Glad to hear your sickness has let up to just once a week. I'm still nauseous throughout the day some days worse than others, but I haven't had a really bad day/night since last week. So maybe things are looking up. Fingers crossed for the both of us that it completely lets up soon.
@MRS.KRB: Just two more weeks. Yay!
@RKitty: I know what you mean about the heartburn flare ups. I've been having some mild ones at bed time. I found propping up in the bed helps out a lot.
@Runnerd: How exciting! Not even two weeks & you will know what your sweet little one is!
@Meadow: Hahaha! What a carrier... Sad thing is someone has one & use it. Poor babies!
I love all the baby wearing information. Is there a site that has helpful information when it comes to baby wearing? So I know I'm doing it right when the time comes.

@MMcAlli: there's a couple of Facebook groups! I'll grab links for you guys! There's also an online forum for non FB folks- I'll get that too! And lots of YouTube channels!
There are lots of local Babywearing groups (that was super surprising for me!) where you can even check out carriers to try (usually you need to join at about $20 for a year) but then you can check out something every month without having to pay! There are also people on hand to teach you how to use them. I was in process to become a certified Babywearing educator but pregnancy slowed me down
I'll see if I can find a master list of chapters for you guys!

@runnerd: I'm glad I'm not the only jealous one!
@meadow: Now I want twins just to run around with them in bags like that to wig people out...
@Mrs. Pink: Yay for no more progesterone! And I also would love to see more info about baby wearing! I plan to do it myself but I have no clue other then I know it's different from when my mom did with me over 30 years ago!
@MMcAlli: Thankfully the heartburn is pretty mild, and usually at bed time. I prop myself up to but I also need to just be better about avoid my triggers!
@gotkimchi: Hello lurker!
Sometimes I feel so out of the loop this whole baby thing! It really isn't my thing, I always avoided babies. This all my husband's thing! But it's something we talked about a lot before getting married so I did agree and am good with it... but if it wasn't for him I'd stick the kid free route! But I have no clue about all these baby things to buy and I keep learning about new stuff and it's just so overwhelming sometimes! And all these weird pregnancy and labor things... oh vey!

@RKitty: I hadn't even held a baby in over 10 years until my friend had her twins a few months before I had my first. I was the girl who said things like if I am pregnant you will know it was an accident! Then LOLOL some weird female hormones kicked in, and I wanted a family so badly. You learn fast

@MMcAlli: thebabywearer.com is the best! And join a bwi group in your area. I love baby wearing, it is a sanity saver.
And yes, I hope the puking stops soon, too!
@gotkimchi: not everyone loves a ring sling, do you have a local lending library where you can try one?
@RKitty: your own kid is different from other peoples' kids
GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts
@pastemoo: I love the Babywearer! Also yes to not everyone loving a ringsling-- I can use them but it's not my first choice even for a newborn! I'm a wrapper through and through-- having a ringsling is handy but I don't use it for long periods!

http://babywearinginternational.org/about-bwi/chapters/
Is a list of BWI Chapters-- if your area isn't listed, try a clos-ish one and join the Facebook group or email and see if they can help you find a group nearby- some areas won't have an official chapter but there might be a local group of babywearering moms and dads that you can connect with!
Also, that site has a ton of info in general!
Babywearing Love and Support on Facebook is a good group to join for chatter!
For YouTube tutorials I love Babywearing Faith and Wrapping Rachel ️

Ok everyone. Its been a while since I've been on here to update and a lot has happened!
We did our gender reveal for my family for Christmas. 4 blue balloons wrapped in a box- 1 said "its a boy". My mom opens them and only 3 blue balloons pop out. The "its a boy" one had deflated! Ha! oh well. Everyone was still super excited. The Christmas present ultrasound photo reveal went great for my husbands parents as well.
The day after Christmas I was at work. On my way to work I noticed some cramping. Mentioned it to my husband and said I hoped it wasn't anything. About 2 hours into my shift I stood up and felt a lot of wetness. I went to the bathroom and there was so much blood. I freaked (of course) and headed straight upstairs to the ER (I work in a hospital). They know me up there, so they got me in right away (despite a 1.5 hours wait time that day in the ER).
They did an ultrasound and baby is ok. He is measuring right on and his heart rate was great at 146 bpm. There was a large subchorionic hemorrhage next to him. The ER doc told me to go home and take a week off work and stay in bed. I told him he was crazy and that there was no way I could stay in bed for a week. I agreed to stay in bed for the weekend and call my OB on Monday (I didn't have to work Monday).
This is all complicated by my being on baby aspirin for repeat pregnancy losses. The OB on call said to stop it.
I called my OB on Monday and she didn't want me to come in, told me it was fine to go back to work, and to resume my baby aspirin.
I'm still spotting, but it is brown now. No more bright red blood.
I have also been having a million migraines. My baseline is about 1 per month. When I was pregnant with my son, I had 1 migraine the whole pregnancy. Now, I'm getting 2 or more each week. I talked to my OB and she said I can take my Excedrin migraine (yay!) and if that doesn't help I can get a prescription for Fioricet. Luckily Excedrin usually does the trick for me.
I do get to go in next Tuesday to get baby's heart beat dopplered just to make sure he's doing ok and to ease my fears. But other than that, no additional follow up for the (as my ER doc described it) "larger than average subchorionic hemorrhage".

@Dr. Pepper: I hope everything calms down! My SCH was gone at about 10 weeks, but it was scary!
I thought of getting a Doppler to keep at home to check on baby all the time but haven't gotten around to it yet!
I can't wait for more regular and definite movement and kicks- it's much easier than having to just wonder what's happening in there!

@Dr. Pepper: oh just seeing this!! Sounds like what happened to me in the first tri (so much blood!) except they couldn't find anything on ultrasound! I'm also on aspirin for repeat losses.. Hmm. Anyways, I've had two bad episodes at 10wk and 14wk, and every has been ok both. Hope the stress of it isn't getting to you as bad as it is me!! Glad it's clearing up!

@pastemoo: chilli sounds so good.... with lots of cheese... my gallbladder flares up when I have anything beans so I have to watch it... but dude...
I haven't bought a coat yet- it's cold here but it's easy for me to hibernate at home because I'm SAHM-- I have a couple of pea coat-ish coats that have more of an empire waist and slight flare that still kind of fit-- but I live in sweatshirts right now!

@Mrs. Pink: no weird cravings. just food
My new thing is legit increase in having to pee - like omg, then go and bladder wasn't very full. I pee all the time bc I drink lots of water, so it takes a lot for me to notice it haha.
GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts
I really need to step up the water game... I'm getting better but there's still room for improvement!
I can't remember if I posted about this but I think I figured out why my midwife got on me about not having enough vitamins in my system when they tested my sample several weeks back....
Target has 2 different items labeled as "prenatal" in their up and up gummy vitamins. One said something like "prenatal support... fiber and calcium" and the other just "prenatal vitamins"
I bought the "fiber and calcium" ones because they are like cream savers instead of sugar coated like gum drops and because who doesn't need extra calcium??
It turns out, the ones I bought have ONLY fiber and calcium in them... so now I'm taking the right ones LOL
I never took them with Caroline because they made me so sick, so I was super peeved to find out that even though I was doing so great... I actually wasn't!! Stupid labeling.
What vitamins are you guys taking? Anyone taking other supplements?
nectarine / 2465 posts
@Mrs. Pink: no cravings anymore, actually I'm really thankful my appetite is back to normal (no more pigging out), I was getting worried! I'm just taking a prescription prenatal, nothing else.

@starlitsky: haha my husband is! With my first we got a little onsie that said got kimchi? So it just make me laugh!

@Mrs. Pink: no major cravings for me. I just like to eat. Haha. That stinks about the silly labeling on the vitamins. I'm sure you're not the only one who made that mistake!
I take OB Complete with DHA which is a prescription vitamin but I supplement it with about 500mg of calcium gummies most days because I know I don't get enough through diet and have osteoporosis in my family. I was afraid these stinkers would sucks my bones dry!! Hehe.
I swapped out my closet and drawers yesterday to be full maternity clothes and a few things I still think will fit a little longer. It was exciting!!!

@Mrs. Pink: I've been taking the Puritan's Pride prenatals. They have weird sales where you can get 5 bottles for about $5 each so I just buy enough for the whole pregnancy and nursing at once. I also take fish oil for the dha. My doctor last time said that it was just as good as the stuff marketed for pregnancy.
I take separate calcium pills because I can't have milk, and acidophilus. Sometimes it feels like a lot!

@Mrs. Pink: oh no! Totally something I'd do. I take natiremade. I've had no issues with nausea on them, but they are pretty big to get down.

No crazy cravings, but I'm still wanting meats and comfort foods. My husband made short ribs and polenta for dinner last night! Yuuum.
I've completely switched to maternity clothing as well, but I'm hoping to avoid a maternity coat. Since my son was born in Late Aug, I may need to buy a few warmer tops, although I'm hoping to get away with what I have already. My friend offered to share her mat clothes with me, since she had 2 winter babies. That way I don't have to buy any more maternity clothing...and she may even have a maternity coat in there. Brrr, it finally got cold here in NY.
