My appointments switch to every two weeks at 30 weeks and then weekly at some point after that. Last time they let me delay the weekly appointments which was nice.

Names. I thought we were set but now I'm not sure. I think it's just that I don't like the middle name with our first name but I am horrible at thinking of middle names! I wasn't going to share but now I am because I'm stuck and DH is really only helpful at vetoing what he doesn't like! For a first name we are going with Jeremiah. Middle was going to be Eli but I don't like the two vowel sounds back to back. I need a two syllable middle name that matches and starts with a consonant (but not L, M, or T) and I'm just not sold on anything yet. We had this same problem with ds 1!

@brownepiano: I like Jeremiah Eli! I get what you mean about the two vowel sounds back to back though. But really, you don't tend to use the middle name all that much.

@Mrs. Champagne: we won't decide officially until she arrives, but we only have one name we both really like. Same thing that happened with DD1, so we will probably go with it.

@Alba4: I had similar ultrasounds (more than I can count) with #1. I had several in the beginning bc of my bleeding, but at this point, my 21wk anatomy was the last planned one. It's really weird to think I won't see baby again!

My doc switches to appts every 3 weeks at 30 weeks, up until my last 2-3 weeks, so I'm pretty excited about that!! My last pregnancy I saw a diff doc and also saw a specialist, so I was going twice a week the last month which was awful esp since it was hour from my house at the time.

No first name yet... I actually don't even know if I like the names I had anymore 😂😂😂

Middle name is still the same and is set!

I think I mentioned already before, but our baby girl is going to be Reilly Clare. We have the name decal up on the wall and everything, no turning back now!

We had our childbirth class yesterday (8 hours, oy!). It was pretty fun, I haven't been emotional much this pregnancy, but I definitely teared up a few times watching the movies and seeing the maternity wing. It made me so much more excited (than I already was), but I still have 3 months to go!

@MrsKRB: I was just telling DH how I wasn't as emotional as I expected lately.... then cried twice on Friday -- once over a onsie I bought and once when we received a registry gift in the mail from a good friend at work.

I can't imagine when I'm at the hospital seeing all *that*

I got tired at the grocery store today -- not walking around, but bagging wore me out! Haha. Also, my app said baby is the size of an eggplant, so of course I stood for like a solid minute in the produce aisle looking at the eggplants and imagining two in my belly!

As for names - we are SO not prepared haha. All we know is we want names that have nickname options. We both have nickname names and like the versatility.

@pastemoo: Oh I missed this! Congrats on your girl! How exciting and what a great way for your DH to tell you!

@brownepiano: Jeremiah is a great name - I get what you mean about the two vowel sounds with Eli as middle name, but I wouldn't let that put me off if I really liked the name.

@MrsKRB: I love the name Reilly Clare - great mix of a strong name with a feminine twist!

@meadow: Aww, that's quite sweet! Crazy how it's the little things, like eggplants in the grocery store, that make us emotional!

Still just hanging out here with another four weeks before my next appt (my last one was nearly four weeks ago!). Because I'm not a FTM, my appts are quite spread out but I think we go to biweekly after 32 weeks and weekly if I go past my due date. I don't have any more ultrasounds so I'm not terribly fussed!

DH and I have just started talking names - we like Isabelle and Claire for girl names but are still open to ideas, and for boys, we're still throwing around ideas but Matthew, Henry, Finn (Finley/Finlay?!), and James have all surfaced on our radar. We have an Emily and Charlotte so our naming style is pretty classic but I am open to maybe going a bit more outside the box....maybe.

Today was Mother's Day here in England so it's been a lovely day but also quite emotional! I cry at everything right now so the girls' cards (written out by DH) had me in floods of tears. And just watching them today, thinking about what an amazing journey it's been the past 3.5 yes (4 yrs if you count pregnancy), had me tears eyed all day too. I'm such a sap!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

@Ree723: aw happy Mother's Day! I like your classic names!
@MrsKRB: cute name!!' Jealous you've already decided.
@brownepiano: I like that name! I also can see what you mean of the two names together but I think it's fine!!

@Mrs.Pink: I hope your Nameless Nugget stays out of the 10% worry zone. I also hope you are able to try not to worry too much, which I know is easier said than done. Jealous you got to do jelly beans, I mean that is so much more fun than drinking a drink.
@Meadow: Birthing class was fun. They taught us some exercises to do; squats, lower abdomen movement to strengthen for when the baby drops, & a few more. Plus told us to be sure to stretch everyday because it would help our bodies out. I plan on doing a set of them once a day. I know all about getting tired easily. I get my husband to go to the grocery store with me now, as before it was something I did on my own. But having him there to bag & load & unload it makes it a lot easier.
@RKitty: Ha! I love it. My little guy doesn't like to cooperate for U/S either. I have yet to get a good profile shot. It is good to hear your last U/S wasn't a bad one. My areolas turned dark a few months ago & never went back light. They haven't grown any.....yet! Crazy what all is "normal" for our bodies to do.
@Alba4: I'm with you on the chapped lips. They are constantly cracking & bleeding. I have chapstick at work, in my car, and at home.
@Pastemoo: Ugh. I know how you feel about self esteem. I've been feeling blah here lately. I feel like maternity clothes don't fit cute but my regular clothes don't either. Sun Tan City is having Free Spray Tans this week so I am considering going & getting one hoping that will help me feel better about myself. I think once it gets warm I will feel a lot better. Wearing frumpy sweaters & jackets do nothing for me. Until then we need to stop being hard on ourselves. We only have 3 more months. :))
@Starlitsky: I am on 2 weeks visits to my OB. From my understanding they are quick visits. Just measure my belly, hear the heart beat, and listen to me whine.
@Mrs.Champagne: We had a little boy name picked out before we even got pregnant. If I were having a little girl I would definitely be in the same boat as several of you. Hoping the perfect name comes to you soon. :))
@Brownepiano: Jeremiah Eli is super cute! Like others have said you rarely will use them together but if you do they go together nicely.
@MRSKRB: Love Love Love Reilly Clare.
@Ree723: Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!

GD Test wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. I went with Fruit Punch flavor & was able to down it in two gulps/chugs. It was overly sweet but it wasn't awful, just tasted like Kool-Aid with too much sugar. I am glad it is over with & I passed it. Next test I will have will be Strep B Test which isn't for a while so it'll be nice to relax. :))

Hope everyone has a great week!

Is anyone able to tell what their baby's are doing in there? Like hiccups vs kicks vs rolls? I have no idea, sometimes it's super strong and catches me by surprise. I like to try to guess!

@MrsKRB: My OB Office has like a Patient Portal so my results were posted Saturday. I think that is a reason it wasn't so bad for me because I like sweets too. :)) Good luck on yours.

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

@MrsKRB: Search on youtube "newborn hiccups"-- it feels EXACTLY like that. You will recognize it as soon as you watch it. I do recognize rolls vs kick/punch but can't tell kick from punch (she is holding her legs, apparently)

@MMcAlli: last pregnancy mine was orange flavor, and it just tasted like sugary flat orange crush - I thought to myself I obviously am super fine with sweet stuff since it didn't phase me one bit.

@MrsKRB: I can for hiccups/rolls and kicks... Single leg kicks vs double... But only because I remember them from before *and* have had her doing those things during ultrasound while feeling them at the same time lol

@Mrs.Pink: Wait....I thought your GD test was jelly bean flavored...actual jelly beans sounds awesome!!!!

@mmcalli: Ok - so after I post, I'm going to get off the couch and do some stretches....thanks for motivating me! Also- my husband is *required* to help me unload the car. I might have to suck it up and get him to come with me soon. My dad (who always did the food shopping growing up) has offered to accompany me - but I feel silly asking him when my husband should be able to come with me. Congrats on passing your GD test YAY!

@MrsKRB: I can tell feel kicks & punches. The only way I sort of the difference is in that I think I know where hands vs feet are. I could be completely off. I also know there are punches involved when I feel 3 locations of movement simultaneously :-p. I don't think I have felt hiccups yet - but from what I've read - I'm too early for that. I was getting curious what their movements look like and watched parts of a NatGeo special on twins' fetal movement on youtube last night!

I go for a regular checkup tomorrow and might be stopping for a pedi afterward. Cutting my toenails is officially out of the question and I have been craving a pedi for a solid month. Haha.

    @Mrs. Pink: I wish I did this!

I had my test today, the drink definitely did taste like orange soda, it wasn't bad at all, just burned my throat a little (burials have a cold). I have been feeling a little ill from it all day though, sugar on an empty stomach is never good with me!

    GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts

@MrsKRB: I felt like crap most of yesterday 😂
I know why they need us to do it and all but... It's still silly "drink this/eat this large amount of sugar on an empty stomach and don't drink any water at all" 🙄🙄 oh but try not to get sick...

Also- yay for hitting the Third Trimester-- we're hitting the home stretch guys!!

@Mrs. Pink: I've never heard of the jelly bean test!! I wish I could do it with jujubes. Or a Coke! Lol. They would never let me here I'm sure. I didn't mind the drink last time, but they sent me right to the tree hour because my dad has type 1 diabetes. This time my doc said its not necessary to start at the three hour. Woooo.

Am I crazy to fear a foot massage during a pedi? Only because I'm at risk of preterm labor...

The weather here in NY is amazing! Mid 70s and sun, sun, sun.

  27. MMcAlli

    cherry / 154 posts

@Alba4: I was a little worried getting one, but I didn't have any more Braxton hicks than normal. BUT I did notice the guy giving my pedi focused more on my legs during the massage part rather than my feet. Not sure if that was just his way or if he did it because I am pregnant. Either way it felt amazing.

But maybe next time ask your OB about it, just so you're 100% ok with getting one.

  28. runnerd

    pear / 1593 posts

@Alba4: ?? So confused - foot massage being labor risk is a new one for me...

  29. RKitty

    apricot / 341 posts

There's lots of debate if foot massages trigger contractions. Supposedly there is a pressure point on your foot that links directly to your uterus that when pressed can cause contractions in your uterus. Hence starting the belief that pedi's cause pre-term labor. You can just ask them to skip the foot massage ( ) and still get your pedicure.

  30. meadow

    persimmon / 1272 posts

@Alba4: I'm afraid of it too....(In fact - I actually worried about this since TTC and tried to make sure I didn't go for a pedi during my TWW in case it somehow caused a contraction that hindered implantation.....looking back - I'm sure that was me being crazy!!)

I'm actually going for the pedi tomorrow after my appointment at the high risk OB...and that's on my list of questions to ask one more time :-p. I'll let you know what they say!

The babies have been so so active the past two days....tonight I sat on the couch and watched them from the outside for like 10 straight minutes! I have started to feel baby B not just kicking - but rolling perhaps. I feel movement swiping across my stomach. It's pretty cool!

Passed my test- but I'm Vitamin D deficient so I need to be on supplements.

I've heard foot massages can be labor inducing too- but last time I just told them I was pregnant and to be gentle 😂 I suppose I should ask my midwife-- I haven't been for one in ages but I need one...

    @meadow: Yay!
@MMcAlli: My spa has a pedicure package specifically for pregnant women, and they know the pressure points for labor and won't do them until after 38 weeks AND if you request it (must be both).

Nausea is back, hoping I don't throw up this morning. Boo. But honestly other than that, this pregnancy has fewer aches and pains and other yuck than last time, so I'm thankful. Linea nigra is up to my (now outie) belly button--no sign of going all the way up like it did last time. (I heard once that all the way up=boy, up to belly button=girl, interestingly enough.)

@MMcAlli: @Mrs. Pink: @MrsKRB: congrats on passing (and avoiding the awful 3-hour test)!!

@meadow: that is so cool about your active babies! I haven't felt a rolling motion yet but definitely have noticed more movement, which I love!

@Mrs. Champagne: yay for viability! such a wonderful milestone!

@pastemoo: I felt a little bit of nausea yesterday too and had no energy all day. I feel much better today after going to sleep really early. my linea nigrea goes all the way up and I'm having a boy, but it's darker under my belly button and really faint above.

  40. RKitty

@pastemoo: I've been dealing with nausea on and off since the start. Thank Goodness for Jamba Juice I can usually get those down even when sick feeling!

@Mrs. Champagne: Congrats on Viability! I like you because your the only one in this group a few days behind me... So I don't feel completely behind.

@MrsKRB: My belly is growing... but not what I'd call popped yet. Because I'm plus sized it just looks like I've been putting on weight.

Congrats to everyone passing their tests so far! Good news all around!

My linea nigrea is also only up to my belly button with a boy, but it's really light still.
