    @Purpledaisy: Congrats on a set date -- wow!! YAY

    @RKitty: @runnerd: Those are both fun dates!!!

    @starlitsky: Wow - I always thought with induction it was pretty much that day or the next - I've never heard 3 days -wow!

    So I had an eventful last 2 days --- I was at the hospital in L&D last night for monitoring.....NST and bloodwork. I've been diagnosed with mild pre-e. Whomp Whomp. Been collecting my urine in a jug for the last 24 hours and routinely checking my BP. I go back to the doctor tomorrow to follow up on how things are going.....I'm hoping to keep these kids in for another week....we'll see how things look tomorrow. Packing the last items into my hospital bag tonight and thinking I'll start keeping it in my car....

    @meadow: oh wow! Hopefully you can last another week, but if not you've gotten so far I'm sure they will do awesome!!

    @starlitsky: I had induction as FTM, and my baby less than 24 hours later (cervical ripening that started contractions about 12 hours later)

    @meadow: thinking about you!! my friend who had twins had elevated blood pressure and protein, but never enough to do intervene, but her water broke shortly after 36 weeks anyways!

    Had an OB appt today. Just quick. Everything looked good. Belly measures 33 weeks instead of 34 but they didn't seem worried. Go back in two weeks for my final ultrasound. Then weekly appts until June 24 when she is coming out! Found out today I'm scheduled for first thing in the morning which I'm happy about!

    @meadow: I had to do the urine collection (did I mention that already? I can't remember..) because I had such high BP (it got to 180/96 in one test but hovered around 160-170, which is really high for me)-- that was one of the factors in our needing to do the emergency c

    Fingers crossed you don't have to worry- but if they come early, they should do great! We had 34 week twins born while I was there and they were both bigger than Zoey and we're doing good!

    @meadow: oh wow! keep us posted and hope you can avoid pre-e! Collecting pee in a jug sounds fun

    @runnerd: I would be happy if my induction took less than 24 hours! Were the contractions super intense/painful?

    @Purpledaisy: Eeek! Good luck! That is very exciting!
    @mrskrb: totally got a pedicure today... and took my son to the park for a long time...cleaning the basement
    @Mrspink: I'll check out scandal
    @rkitty: thanks, i'll check those out!
    i guess i'm just a doer. if i have 1 hour free i have no idea what to do with myself.
    @alba; Thanks for the suggestions
    @starlitsky: so exciting to have an end date!
    @meadow: sorry about the possible/early pre e. good luck mama!
    @mrschampagne: so exciting!

    a lot of mamas know their end date! wow.

    @Mrs. Champagne: @Mrs. Pink: @starlitsky: @pastemoo: Thanks!!! It's great knowing I have your support.....

    @runnerd: That's good to hear FX

    @Mrs. Pink: I keep going between high 120s up to 140s for the top number and the bottom number hovering around 90s sometimes 80s. All of which is high for me as I usually have low BP. It's weird to me that I don't think I feel any physical symptoms that would indicate this high BP....other than the link to my swelling (which I wouldn't connect as naturally if I hadn't googled everything on the planet...). Like when my BP dips - I feel dizzy or lightheaded. You'd think there'd be an equivalent for high BP right?

    @pastemoo: you are so close!!! WEEEE!!!!

    @starlitsky: they weren't as bad as I was mentally prepared for, but I was lucky that I only had the pitocin for about 10min and they decided I didn't need it because contractions were moving things along well enough without.

  11. Mrs. Pink

    GOLD / kiwi / 605 posts

    @meadow: dizziness and lightheadedness are basically pre-e symptoms when combined with high BP- they put me on BP medication to try to stop it from getting higher but it didn't really help- I still have high BP even now so they had to bump my dosage 😂 But the side effects of this BP medication are similar to pre E symptoms so I had to really watch it when Z was still on the inside!

    @Mrs. Pink: That's interesting that low bp & high bp have the same effect. I haven't felt either of those...just past 2 weeks a slowing down of my personal movement which I attribute to being on leave and not having to move fast....and being ginormous...hahaha

    Also fascinating to me that your bp is still high....I thought the "cure" was birth. Hmm.

    Hoping at my appt today they just say....continue lying down and baking the babies!! Or maybe hook me up with some BP meds like you described...

    @starlitsky: 2-3 days! I hope not for your sake!

    @meadow: sorry to hear about your BP, fortunately your babies will likely be just fine!

    @Mrs. Pink: I just guessed lol. They were like use your memory of what it felt like to push with your daughter, which wasn't a big help lol because my epidural was so strong with her I couldn't feel anything either. I just pushed like I was going to the bathroom and they told me if it was right. Luckily #2 basically birthed herself do it was quick! If she wasn't right there they wouldn't have allowed the spinal I'm sure!

    @catomd00: cool
    @meadow: the "cure" is birth but it can still be an issue for 4 weeks pp (maybe 6? i think it's 4 though).
    @starlitsky: with my son, i was augmented with pitocin for 27 hours and it was horrible horrible horrible. i hope it's easier this time...
    just had a dr appt that I waited 45 minutes, was back for 7 minutes including bp and weight and time with the nurse, and then 30 (maybe 60?) seconds with the doctor. What a waste of over an hour of my day to get there and do nothing.
    I am so antsy and so emotional and want to cry right now. AGhhhh. I know have 2 weeks till they talk c-section but I feel it like a huge weight and I just want her to be ready now and come now.

    @pastemoo: I'm sorry you are feeling so done. Will they do a membrane sweep? That worked for me and I delivered less than 48 hours later!

  17. pastemoo

    cantaloupe / 6146 posts

    @Alba4: I don't want to risk it. I had chorioamnionitis last time (long labor and lots of cervical checks, and had a membrane sweep at 39w5d--this is why it ended in c section). So i'm not doing cervical checks/sweep, etc. I need to remind myself of that. I can be patient. I can. I can...

    @pastemoo: hang in there! It's so hot today (88 degrees). Supposed to be hot for the next 3 days. I'm thankful that I'm not teaching in my sauna of a classroom!

    @starlitsky: I was scheduled for an induction but then my water broke the same night I was supposed to be induced and I went in. I still had to have pitocin and the baby was born 12 hours later. I've never heard 2-3 days! I thought when they were scheduling me that they wanted the baby out within 24 of when they started.

  21. starlitsky

    clementine / 795 posts

    @runnerd: ah sounds like it worked out for you!! Hoping my body cooperates as well.

    @pastemoo: Wow 27 hours! Was it super painful? Did you get an epidural and if so, at what point? Hoping this time around is better for you too!

    @MrsKRB: 2-3 days sounds like the worst case scenario... hopefully it'll be quicker!!

    @brownepiano: I have heard that once your water breaks, they want the baby out within 24 hours due to risk of infection, so I guess 2-3 days must account for the water not being broken right away?

    38 weeks today!

    @pastemoo: 2 of my last three appointments have been like that. My first one I was there almost 2 hours and everything I needed to do took less then 10. My next appointment was in and out. And then this last one I waited about 45 minutes for 10ish minutes with the nurse and doc! I totally feel you on the nuisance of waiting!

    Our birthing class mentioned several times 1- go to hospital if your water breaks no matter where you are in contractions and 2 - baby comes out with in 24 hours after water breaks. It was nearly drilled into us.

    And all you ladies talking about c-sections and inductions and I'm just sitting over here waiting.... It's hard being due at the end of the month! But you all are making me get things done I keep putting off, it's just driving in the point baby could be hear any day!

    @starlitsky: i ended up with one after 20 hours, and ended in c section (pushing for 3 of those hours). trying for VBAC this time. i went in because my water sort of broke (possibly leak from the membrane sweep?).

    @rkitty: i know what you mean. my son was due at the end of the month and almost the whole group already had their babies!
    and this time, i'm really glad i'm on the 1st because it stressed me out so much last time. crazy thing is i'm due in a week but i can't see the end in sight all the same. :o so... i guess it made less difference than i thought?

    @pastemoo: I had an induction date on the calendar and still the last week I felt there was no end in sight! Hang in there. It's almost time!

    I'm in the beginning of the month and am prepared to be pregnant at the end of the month! 38 week appt today and the baby still hasn't dropped

  27. starlitsky

    clementine / 795 posts

    @MrsKRB: Just yesterday, my mom's friend commented on my belly and that the baby hasn't dropped yet. I'm going to ask my OB next week.

    I'm sure you won't be pregnant at the end of the month! Is your baby head down?

  28. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

    @starlitsky: she is, my Dr actually wasn't sure so he did a quick scan and that's when he said she's not even in my pelvis yet. I told myself to not get upset because I still have plenty of time, and here I am thinking ill be pregnant forever!

  29. starlitsky

    clementine / 795 posts

    @MrsKRB: Yay! well head down is a good start! I heard for FTM, babies don't usually drop until right before labor so don't stress too much about it. I'll have to take my own advice too lol.

  30. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

    @starlitsky: oh really? I heard the opposite, that the first drops early and subsequent babies drop late. Hopefully everything will just happen quickly, but in the meantime I'm going to be walking everywhere!

  31. starlitsky

    clementine / 795 posts

    @MrsKRB: oh wait, I think you're right! Haha I had it backwards. Well, you still have some time! Hopefully baby will start dropping soon.

    @pastemoo: still feeling like I have a long way to go I bought an exercise ball today and I'm going to do some prenatal yoga in a bit to hopefully open my hips up. As for this weekend, I'm working but only a week left until maternity leave! I'd totally be up for a Facebook group if you want to start one!
