Had another scan today, I was super nervous for some reason, but all looked good. Measuring a couple days ahead and HB of 156. Now I’ve graduated to my regular obgyn, and I’ll get another scan next week

Oh, and I have a SCH, but she said it’s not too close to the baby and it’s on the right side, so if I have bleeding (none so far) it’s probably that

Well, I was trying to figure out how to tell my SIL I was pregnant so I could draft her into helping with the kids on my worst days... but she told me she's pregnant too! We're due within two weeks of each other and I'm so excited!
It is Christmas with my parents this year, so we're going to brainstorm fun ways to announce it to the family.
Feel like it is another girl because I'm just at 6 weeks and already the nausea is hitting all day. My poor kids are going to get a lot of screentime and peanut butter sandwich dinners the next few weeks

@codeitall: That is so fun that you’re due so close! I’m convinced mine is another girl as well—the worst parts of both my pregnancies have been tossed together for this one.

@breakouttheicecream: I'm feeling terrible but I'm actually ok with that because it helps keep the anxiety down. When I first started spotting I was taking tests every day to reassure myself but I've stopped because I'm assuming the symptoms probably have about the same lag time as the tests? 🤷♀️ Good luck!!!

@LAZB: Looking good!
@CodeItAll: Exciting news about your SIL... are you guys more of the prankster or sentimental type in terms of announcing to your families?
@JCCOVI: I feel the exact same way about my nausea. While annoying, I appreciate it's there as a reminder that things are "normal." Just hope it stays away most of tomorrow during my 8 hour board exam.

@JCCovi: I was able to get an accommodation approved to allow me to have water and hard candy (ginger) at my desk. Also allowed to take extra breaks, but the clock doesn't stop if I go. Usually you can have nothing at your desk for these things, so I'll call it a win.

@yellowbeach: Good luck with your board exam!
@lazb: That scan looks BEAUTIFUL!
@codeitall: Congratulations to both of you! How wonderful to have cousins the same age.
Went in for a scan this afternoon. There is a little flicker of heartbeat, which is something. It's measuring 6 w 1 d; either the date they gave at the early scan was off or it's not growing at the right rate (the OB felt like these were the first good measurements she'd gotten, but a scan next week will be clearer). Certainly not out of the woods, but better news than expected. Hope this one will grow.

@yellowbeach Good luck today! You’ve got this!
@Lazb Hooray!!
@codeitall That is so fun! I just found out my very best friend is due at the end of May!
@Breakouttheicecream I’m so glad you got in for a scan and will continue thinking all good thoughts.
As for me, still feeling terrible. I joke that my goal for each day is just to not throw up on any 4th graders. So far so good despite the astounding array of smells they bring to the classroom. I feel bad for my much diminished patience both with them and with my 2yo, but trying to give myself some grace there. My appointment is finally today, so I’ll report back.

Big news here - my cell-free DNA results came back and everything is low risk! And...it’s a ! I’m a little terrified - was fully expecting girl and feel unprepared for boy issues lol. And sad to give away all my girl clothes! But really excited to have a healthy baby.

@yellowbeach: Aw cute bump! I have a very teeny bump now, definitely not visible to others and I’m still in regular clothes. I keep having to remind myself I’m only 8 weeks and didn’t show until 10 or 12 last time.

@skiierchck99: little boys love their moms so much, that's probably why my husband is so glad to be having a daughter this time. He feels ditched by our son fairly often.

@yellowbeach: the joys of still being overweight from my first - yes but no but also I still looked like 3 month pregnant Depends on the time of day! Your bump is adorable
kiwi / 705 posts
@yellowbeach: So cute! I definitely started this pregnancy with a bump bigger then that
I haven’t weighed myself but I’m pretty sure I’ve lost weight and my bump is smaller then when I started. Hasn’t happened in previous pregnancies but I am only keeping down 1 small meal per day. I’m still wearing regular clothes but I’ve started unbuttoning my jeans while I drive since it’s just not comfortable anymore. I *feel* like my bump is huge because I’m so aware of this pregnancy. A couple times in public I’ve noticed myself wanting to rest my hand there or cradle the little bump. That would definitely make people suspicious!

I have my first office appointment Monday and I can’t wait. When I made the appointment on the late side I felt like it was no big deal but now I’m so eager to get an ultrasound! I’ve been spotting a little for 2 weeks now, not every day and very tiny amounts, but definitely want to see that little heartbeat to know things are ok!
apricot / 430 posts
@yellowbeach: what a cute bump! I’m definitely starting to show. I’m in camouflage mode and mostly maternity pants. Regular shirts are becoming a challenge. I definitely think people at work suspect!

@LAZB: Glad it’s not just me! I have to somehow squeeze this mess into a saree in 4 hours for an Indian wedding.

I found Baby's heartbeat on my Doppler this morning, so reassuring! I think we are going to tell our kids this afternoon because I’m sure someone’s going to slip and they’ll find out soon, and I want to make sure we get to spill the surprise

Sigh. I’m struggling today. I woke up to mild cramps (well DH woke me up). They didn’t last long and weren’t severe. Had them for a few minutes everyday for the last few days. But laying there in the middle of the night - I started to get so down and thought - this is it, I’m going to miscarrying this baby too and I just need to accept it.
Now I know cramps can occur in early pregnancy and not be a problem. And I still have tons of nausea throughout the day and my boobs hurt so badly. No bleeding with the cramps either. It’s 2 more weeks until I see my doctor (our schedules didn’t jive until 11 weeks).
I guess I just needed to post to say that I’m struggling a bit but trying to remain positive as I really have no reason to feel so down about this pregnancy.

@lazb That’s great! Did you wind up telling your older kids?
@MrsJBeeG I’m sorry your feeling so down, I’m right there with you. I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that something is wrong. I’m also nauseous, but my boobs don’t hurt as much, and every little thing I’m convinced is a sign of something wrong, even though I’ve had an ultrasound that looked fine. I’m doing my meditation and focusing on each positive upcoming thing and hoping that one of these days I feel a little more stable in the whole thing. What I’m trying to say is, you are not alone and my rational brain says there is every reason to believe this will work out for both of us.
