    Had my first appointment today and everything went well!

    I’m measuring in the low range of my date estimate so I have to change my due date to June 29. Bleh.

    I don’t remember the early ultrasounds being so clear before but this one seemed so crisp and the heartbeat was very obvious! The copies they gave me to take home weren’t nearly as good. 😛

    She didn’t find any reason for the spotting I’ve had but also wasn’t too worried about it.

    @JCCovi: That's a good looking gummy bear! I went ahead and bumped your date back.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Heading into this week, what are you looking forward to?
    Me: I only have 3 more shots of progesterone left (tonight, Tues and Wed) and then we have an appointment with our RE Thursday morning for a 10w ultrasound and we get to STOP the injections! Woohoo!
    Full disclosure though, I'm already a bit sick to my stomach thinking about getting my NIPT drawn on Friday. I keep oscillating back and forth between expecting a devastating diagnosis (because that's our luck and our history, right?) vs thinking it's more rational that we'd statistically end up with normal results. All I know is I am enjoying this time where as far as I know, everything is ok and the pregnancy is healthy. Friday has the potential to shatter that, and I just won't be blind-sided like I was last time. Sorry to be a Debbie downer, but this is a huge hurdle for us.
    Back on the bright side - we took our holiday photos this morning, and hopefully got something we can use to make an announcement via our Christmas cards this year. It was 45 degrees out this morning and we did the shoot at the local botanical gardens. We were all popsicles by the end, but I can't imagine we didn't get at least one usable thing. Here's to hoping.
    @MrsJBeeG: @msmilkshake:
    I (of course) feel the same way, but what is getting me through this torturous wait is that I am doing everything I can do! It is out of my hands, what will be will be, and today I am pregnant.
    But I am also so nervous. I basically cried all weekend because significant decrease in breast tenderness and no nausea since Tuesday/Wednesday. Weirdly I do feel mildly nauseous today thank God so I’m feeling a bit better.
    @yellowbeach: I would be so nervous too, but you know better than anyone the statistics are in your favour ☺️ I just have a good feeling it will be good news!
    @JCCovi hooray!!
    @fuzzypeaches Nice to see you here! I totally agree on the trying to be “pregnant today” (and on the crying when I am less successful 🤷‍♀️) only during pregnancy so we say thank god for nausea haha. I hope this waiting has a very happy ending!
    @yellowbeach I like the what are you looking forward to question. I’m looking forward to my parents visiting!!
    @msmilkshake: @fuzzypeaches: @JCCovi: thanks ladies.
    I’ve resolved it with the mantra that “Pregnacy is hard no matter what” and I just need to work on remaining grateful for what I have - right now it is feeling cruddy a lot, awesome ladies on here that understand the fear and anxiety this brings, and hope for a healthy pregnancy. Of course I’m going to have difficult moments where the hope seems to wane but I do bounce back. We will all make it through this.
    @yellowbeach: I will be praying for you. As having been down a similar road with the shock of a high risk NIPT results and later fetal demise from that condition - I dread 3 December - when I have my first scan and then they will do the blood work for NIPT. I know I’ll feel like you. I just keep thinking one challenge at a time and you have less than 1% chance of it happening again!
    Thinking of all you ladies this week. The first trimester is so hard and I know many of you have been through so many hardships trying for a healthy pregnancy and baby.
    AFM I just had my first pregnancy vomit sesh, interrupting story time with my girls. This third pregnancy is really kicking my butt!
    I’ve got my 12 week scan on Thursday and had my blood drawn last Friday. Hoping to have NIPT results before Thanksgiving.
    I’m afraid I’m showing like crazy, have a huge grant proposal due Friday and a ton of work stuff, including a boat ride with journalists where I have to talk about my work (and not vomit and not look pregnant). Oh, and it’s suppose to be 80 degrees so I can’t even hide under a coat!
    I’m just looking forward to Thanksgiving when it will all be done, for better or for worse, and I can let it all hang out! (Except we are hosting and I have no menu and a very dirty house!)
    Sorry for the whine! I also miss wine!
    @fuzzypeaches: Hopes are high for you!!
    @yellowbeach: Good luck on Friday.
    Hey, all, I've been so grateful for your support these last nine weeks. You're wonderful, and I hope you have healthy, beautiful babies on the way. I lost mine yesterday: we had that dreaded empty ultrasound appointment after a long and scary weekend. (It wasn't the spotting, for those of you who are also dealing with that; it just didn't grow past six weeks.) I'm still processing it, but will take some time off to recover and look for a new doctor to meet in the new year.
    Thanks again. Wishing you smooth sailing 'til June.
    Had another ultrasound today, and I didn’t realize how much I was holding my feelings back until I saw our little one waving at us on the screen. I have been happy about this, and mostly confident because we know she’s genetically normal, but I didn’t get truly excited until today.
    Now I have to wait three weeks for my next scan, that will seem like forever!
    I swore I was feeling baby move over last Thursday/Friday but radio silence since. I’m hoping it wasn’t movement or that it was a specific position and trying not to stress because really I can’t do anything anyway but argh! Counting down the days till my ultrasound next Tuesday!
    @skiierchck99: I only felt sporadic movement early on with my first two. They’re still so tiny! With my second it was a mostly anterior placenta so until about week 25 it was very sporadic!
    I’m starting to get pretty nervous. I haven’t gained any weight, and I really don’t have a bump to speak of except for a very minor one at the end of the day. I was showing obviously at 11 weeks last time and I’m 9 today. My next appointment isn’t for 2 weeks. ☹️
  29. skiierchck99
    kiwi / 518 posts
    @Becky: thanks that’s good to know! I was anterior on my first so I felt almost nothing till like 22 weeks so I was surprised tot jinn I was feeling it so early this time!
    In other news....finally threw up at work, just when I think I’m getting past this. First time for everything, I guess...
  30. LAZB
    pomegranate / 3904 posts
    @skiierchck99: definitely too early for consistent movement! Honestly, what you felt probably wasn’t even the baby, they are so tiny! But even if it was, because of the size and strength, you wouldn’t feel anything regularly for another month! FWIW, I felt my first and third at 16 weeks, but my second at 17/18 weeks, so it’s not always earlier with each pregnancy
  31. LAZB
    pomegranate / 3904 posts
    @Becky: I’ve lost weight, and even though I have a bump, it’s really probably because this is my seventh pregnancy and my uterus is all stretched out lol. I know it’s a nerve wrecking time, but those aren’t concerning!
  32. skiierchck99
    kiwi / 518 posts
    @LAZB: ☺️ Thanks for the reassurance - I know this rationally but the crazy in me... I’ve also lost almost 10 lbs actually but am increasingly uncomfortable in the wait and area. Thinking maternity pants are coming out after thanksgiving/once I announce.
  33. Becky
    persimmon / 1390 posts
    @LAZB: yes, thank you for the reassurance. I’ve lost 10lbs which is a lot for me (started at 115, down to 105). I put a call in to my OB but they didn’t answer 🤷‍♀️
  34. codeitall
    clementine / 874 posts
    @Becky: I lost 10 lb and was down to 103 by my first checkin with the doctor with my 2nd. They said it was fine and I did gain wait after 14 weeks when the MS stopped.
    I will likely also lose ~10 lb with this one the nausea is so bad and I don't seem to keep anything down after 3. I ordered sea bands in an act of desperation yesterday. I have my first client-facing work trip in 2 weeks and I may ask my doctor for zofran to make it through.
    @LAZB: That is great news! I'm glad you can finally get excited!
    This week has been exhausting, my 2yo woke up yesterday unable to move his arm, leading to an er visit, but luckily it was only a bad stiff neck. My parents are here visiting though, so that’s exciting. I’m definitely in count down mode till my next appointment next Wednesday
