My FET nurse never gave me a date to come in for my beta in my paperwork. So I asked the secretary on the day of my transfer when I should come in. She told me this Friday which seemed awfully far away. My FET nurse called me this morning and asked where I was because my beta was supposed to be this morning. Oy!

Hi all! I just got my BFP on Monday, but it was so faint, I was waiting for my lines to darken before I joined. I'm so excited to be joining you!!

    Location: NYC

EDD: February 14th My Valentine's baby! It's actually kind of crazy because that's also my husband's birthday.

    How far along: 3w4d

    First child? Yes!

First doctor appointment: None yet, still trying to research and figure out who I want to go with.

Any symptoms so far? Nothing really, just some bloating.

Who have you told? So far just DH, but I will probably tell my parents this weekend. I talk to my mom every couple days and when I talked to her yesterday it took all my willpower not to tell her!

Congratulations february mommies! My baby with a 2/14 due date was born in late January, but I still feel like a february momma. Despite what people tell you, it's a great time of year to have a baby. Just when you are ready to leave the house more, the weather starts getting nicer.

Got my first OB appointment today -- July 8th. It seems SO far away. I'll be 10 weeks then. I asked my GP if she wanted me to come in to confirm/check my numbers--she said nope! I guess I just need to relax for a few weeks!

  12. MrsB2012

    nectarine / 2466 posts

@Mrs. Coral: it's always kind of weird to not have to go in hey?

I had a dr appt yesterday to confirm ( just a urine test.) then went over some questions as I'm still breast feeding. She wants me to go for a dating ultrasound as I've only had 2 cycles postpartum. So I'll have that in 2-3 weeks then I'll go back to the dr in the middle of July. All boring until then .

@Mrs. Coral: ugh that seems forever! It is so hard to relax during this.

@MrsB2012: when will your ultrasound be?

    First child? Yes!

    First doctor appointment: 6/30

Any symptoms so far? Sore boobs, mild nausea (but that might be all in my head...)

@Aria: Congrats! I talk to my Mom every morning on the way to work, and I feel your pain, as it is almost impossible for me not to blurt it out. I cannot wait to tell her!

@swedishfish: Love the calendar! Great job!

@MrsB2012: Like @swedishfish, I was induced one week late with DD, but I ended up with a C-section, so I will probably have to schedule the delivery this time too.

@HeartAbandoned: So excited to see another TN expectant Momma. Welcome!

@swedishfish: Love the calendar, thanks for making that!
    @HeartAbandoned: Congrats again!

I made my first appointment today for 6/24! She made it based on my LMP, so it's going to be pretty early for me because of my long cycles, I'll only be 6w3d. Anyone know if you can see anything on an ultrasound that early?

  25. MrsTal

    clementine / 901 posts

@Aria: You should see something, depending on the type of ultrasound. My first u/s is Monday and I'll only be 5 weeks 2 days, but my RE requested it so I imagine they are expecting to see something.

How is everyone feeling today? Are you doing anything to get ready for baby yet?

I am feeling good. My biggest symptom so far is sore/heavy boobs, and that isn't changing. I also seem to be having some indigestion, but nothing too bad. I had a dream last night that my first pregnancy craving was Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets. I wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be true!

I downloaded a couple of apps yesterday - Sprout Pregnancy and I'm Expecting, as recommended by some other Bees. I'm excited to use them! I also had DH take my first weekly photo yesterday. Thursdays are my week-change days, so I figured we could get started! We also started talking about where the baby's room will be. Our house is 3 bedrooms, with the spare rooms currently used as an office & guest room. There is furniture moving in our future, but we'll wait until later on the pregnancy to make any major changes.

@HeartAbandoned: Feeling a bit nervous, I have a beta today to check my hcg levels. I'll be happy once we can see this little bean and have some visual reassurance. Other than that I've had some cramping and (tmi) discharge. As far as baby prep, we have done some baby gear research, but I've had certain things picked out since we started trying two years ago, haha. How are you doing?

  30. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

@HeartAbandoned: I've been feeling good so far. Just a little bit of cramping yesterday, but otherwise no symptoms to speak of. This weekend I hope to start cleaning out the future nursery while I'm still feeling good. It's just a half bedroom attached to our bedroom, but right now it's full of all the junk we didn't know what to do with when we moved in.

@MrsTal: I hope your beta goes well!

  31. HeartAbandoned

    clementine / 933 posts

@MrsTal: GL with the beta today! I think it's great that you already have some things picked out! I haven't started really thinking about gear yet. Hopefully it won't be too overwhelming!

@Aria: I love the houses with a small half-bedroom off the master that can be used as a nursery. So convenient! A big part of our "prep for baby" plan will be to get rid of junk. Lots of junk!

My question is do you ladies have bloating that comes and goes?? All last week I looked huge and super bloated even up until yesterday very bloated. Today i dont feel bloated at all... is that normal? I had a CP in March so just very aware of symptoms and just hoping its normal

@Marzipan & Mtex14 great to see other Massachusets mammas.

@Mtex14 your symptoms sound like mine. Every once in a while I suddenly feel completely not pregnant. I also had a chemical so the disappearing symptoms really freak me out.

@MrsTal good luck on your beta!

@mtex14: congrats! My bloating comes and goes with the worst being right after dinner; I feel like a bubble! In my first pregnancy I drank ginger tea and felt better.

We haven't really done anything yet except discuss the logistics of moving DD to a big girl bed so the baby has the crib. I also have been browsing the cute maternity clothes at the gap lol. Anyone else moving their older child to make room for the new baby?

    @marzipan: welcome!
@HeartAbandoned: I'm feeling pretty good. Some cramping which makes me nervous haha. I never had any with my first. Aside from that and being exhausted, I'm all good in the hood. My dr said if I stop breastfeeding that I'll have quite a bit more energy, but I'm not ready for that yet. I hope to make it until the end of July ( her 1st bday. ) but my supply is tanking so I'm not sure I'll make it until then.
I used Sprout and the babycenter apps the first time around. I liked using them together. One had good information and one had good pictures haha. I put them both back on my phone now.
It's always exciting talking about the changes you'll be making to the house hey? We have to decide if we will buy another crib, or move our daughter into a toddler bed. She will be 18 months when the new babe is born, but the new baby will sleep in our room for the first 3-4 months most likely. Lots of decisions!

@MrsTal: Good luck with your betas today

@Aria: I've never heard of a half bedroom attached to the master. That's so handy!!

@mtex14: Congrats and Welcome! I know that some days I feel super bloated and some days I feel normal, so I'm sure that's normal. I know all my other symptoms will come and go as well.

@autumn865: Like I said above, dd will be 18 months so we're trying to figure out if she will be OK moved to a toddler bed. I guess we will just have to wait and see. The crib we have is one of the ones you can make into a bed so worse case, we just buy another crib and then use her crib as a bed when she's ready. I'd rather just buy a toddler bed though I think. How old is your daughter?
I've also been browsing the maternity clothes haha. I hear the second time around you show a lot earlier. I don't have much from the first time, just a couple pairs of shorts. I'll need pants this time around as we will be going through the winter. It's so expensive here! I see a trip to the States in my future to get some better deals

Holy this board is moving today!! Glad to see lots of new faces

@MrsB2012: Haha, it's actually just a glorified closet (a tiny room with a window) but in NYC they call it a half bedroom so they can charge you more for it.

@MrsB2012: I've had a fair amount of cramping too! I never had that with my first. Though I'm surprised how poor my memory is of last time! My son is only 21 months old, but I found myself Googling "what to do in the first trimester"! Like what to eat (and not eat), etc.
