    Cross posting-

It’s been a week and the website says still waiting on my sample. I had a midwife appointment today to follow up from a ER visit last light for fluids and mentioned it’s taking an awful long time for my sample to reach San Francisco! She said she would check my chart and then oh- they’re back! All negative for abnormalities it screened for and it’s a boy!

@lavender: I’m impressed you’ve been able to keep it a secret from your kids this long. We wanted to wait a lot longer but I ended up telling my daughter pretty early because she was worried about me being sick.

@dc yoga bee: Congrats on your boy!! How exciting!

@dc yoga bee: congratulations! I have my NT scan next Friday.

@Aria: I know right? I have a feeling my 6 yr old knows.

@lavender: @Aria: thanks! M knew I was pregnant at like 5 weeks. I need to show y’all a bump photo. I’ve looked six months pregnant for a while now.

Had my first visit with the NP today. At first she couldn’t find a heartbeat with the doppler so I got a quick ultrasound and was able to see the baby squirming away with a strong HB. And bc I’m advanced maternal age with this pregnancy (37!) so the only difference is I’ll be getting a monthly ultrasound.

@lavender: yay for a good apt! Impromptu ultrasounds can be scary but also reassuring when all is well

  7. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

@lavender: I’m glad you had a good appointment! I love seeing the baby wiggle on the ultrasound.

I had my NT scan today and everything looked normal but I’ll get the results of the blood test back in about a week. I had Panorama done while I was there so I’ll get to find out the sex of the baby which I’m excited about. My husband really doesn’t want to know so we’re going to try me knowing and just not telling him. We’ll see how it goes...

@Aria: ohhh good luck! I immediately started using the male pronoun and was trying to keep it a secret.

We were going to wait a few more weeks to tell our son but he kept asking when I would have a baby in my belly... so we got a couple big brother books and let him guess. He was so excited and it was so cute. So we let him tell his grandparents and a family friend.

@MilPA: Aweee that is too precious!! Big brother ftw!

@MilPA: That’s so sweet! So great that he’s excited to be a big brother.

How’s everyone been doing? Now that I’m a few days away from the second trimester I’m finally starting to feel a little more myself. We also got our blood test results back today. Low risk for everything and we’re having another little girl!! I am so excited my daughter will have a sister. I had to jump on here and post because I can’t tell anyone else! This is going to be a hard secret to keep.

  13. MilPA

@Aria: how exciting! Are you going to do a gender reveal? I’m feeling less nauseous but still have aversions and fatigue.

  14. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

@MilPA: No gender reveal. My husband really wanted to be team green and I didn’t, so me finding out but not telling anyone was our compromise.

  15. MilPA

@Aria: oh man you are tougher than me! Good luck!

@Aria: congratulations on ! That’s exciting, my 2 girls are the best of friends (and worst enemies lol).

I had my scan and bloodwork done yesterday. Just waiting on the results. My doc said it could take up to two weeks. I had the panorama test done. What did everyone else get done?

Hey Mommas - have any of you had an ultrasound (this pregnancy or previous) that you used the nub theory to guess the gender? They say you can see this between 11.5 - 13 weeks and last pregnancy I didn't have an US at this time but this pregnancy I did. And the tech told me it looks like a it will be a boy based on the "nub" lol. I'm shocked because I thought it would be a girl but I also have no clue how accurate this is. Anyone know?

@elm5066: Lurking future February 2019 mama here. I'm 4/4 on my "nub" theory guesses of myself and friends. So I think it's legit, my OB not so much... Did you get a pic of the US?

@BadgerMom: yes! Check out the pic ☺️ Let me know what you think!

I had my NT scan last week and just got the blood results back - everything’s normal! This week has been fun since I’ve started telling people

On another note, I’m 13 weeks and still sooo tired. Has this improved for anyone yet?

  22. BadgerMom

    persimmon / 1385 posts

@elm5066: Sorry! For some reason, I didn't see this until now. Well that is one heck of a nub, are you sure it's not a leg?! I'm used to more of an ambiguous white line on the ultrasound, but if that's what you're tech was looking at then it's definitely boy angled!

  23. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

@elm5066: After my NT scan I spent forever googling the nub theory and I still can’t figure out where the nub even is. I’m surprised the tech made a guess, most won’t even if you want them to.

@LBarn: Yay for good results! Always such a relief. I’m still exhausted too, but there are some days here and there where I have energy. Of course my daughter randomly waking up in the middle of the night the last two nights does not help!

We made an announcement on Facebook this week. I wasn’t planning on it, but my mom was bugging me so it was the easiest way to tell everyone at once.

  24. lavender

    grapefruit / 4554 posts

@LBarn: I’ve told my office bc I really can’t hide it anymore lol.

Still awaiting blood work and then I’ll announce on social media.

Other news I scored a job interview in 2 weeks for a position that I’ve been dreaming of. This will be the 3rd time in 10 years I’ll be interviewing for it....3rd times a charm right? Just gotta hide the bump...

  25. LBarn

    olive / 64 posts

@lavender: good luck with the interview! I interviewed for my current job at 20 weeks pregnant a few years ago and apparently no one could tell.

  26. elm5066

    coffee bean / 32 posts

@LBarn: hopefully you feel better soon! I feel like i just woke up one day during week 13 and felt normal again, so strange!

@badgermom: maybe it is a leg! I couldn't believe we could see that much already, i thought it was crazy!! If it really is the nub it must be a boy!

@Lavender good luck with your interviews! Wear a flowy top

  27. elm5066

    coffee bean / 32 posts

@Aria: I was VERY surprised she made a guess too! I will be SO shocked if they tell me it is a girl at the anatomy scan - that would be nuts. Congrats on spreading the news, such a good feeling!

Here's a list, I did my best but I skimmed all the posts quickly hopefully I didn't miss anyone.

    2/28: elm5066
    3/4: Aria
    3/6: dc yoga bee
    3/7: ebsc
    3/12: Lavender
    3/13: Spinny
    3/14: LBarn
    3/19: Queen of Harts, Emmanz
    3/26: MilPA

@dc yoga bee: That's great you passed your glucose test. I am so dreading that later

How's everyone feeling? I have more good days than bad now which is nice and I'm starting to very occasionally feel some movement which is exciting. Is anyone interested in posting bump photos? With my first I did this whole nice series wearing the same outfit with my good camera, and this poor baby has just one crappy cell phone pic and I'm almost 16 weeks.

  35. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@Aria: Thank you! I still have to take the regular one at 28 weeks but I take the earlier one due to a family history of type II and I have PCOS and apparently having pre-eclampsia also increases my risk factor in subsequent pregnancies!

In a nutshell, I'm still a hot mess! Getting a bit more energy and took a walk with the family yesterday. That was the highlight of my day!

Found out yesterday that we are having a boy! Anyone else finding out soon?

  37. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

    @elm5066: Congrats!
My anatomy is next Friday but it’s a little anticlimactic because I already know the sex of our baby and my husband doesn’t want to know. I’m excited to see the baby again though!

I’m a little worried because my parents will be here and they are very anti team green. They will not be thrilled when I don’t tell them the sex and I just don’t want to hear about it all weekend. Oh well.

  38. LBarn

    olive / 64 posts

    @elm5066: congratulations!!

I haven’t scheduled my anatomy scan yet but it won’t be for 2-3 more weeks. I cannot wait to find out! Everyone around me thinks it’s a girl. I think boy.

  39. elm5066

    coffee bean / 32 posts

@Aria: How in the world do you keep that from your husband!! I would slip up in no time! Good luck with keeping it from your parents, eek!

@LBarn: It is so fun to guess. I thought mine would be a girl and it was a boy - i was wrong the first time too!

  40. Aria

    persimmon / 1121 posts

@elm5066: It’s actually not as hard to keep it a secret as I thought it would be. For the first couple weeks it was because I was super excited but it’s gotten easier. It helps that I have less of an urge to shop because we already have a ton of cute girl clothes to reuse.
