@adira: We start every two weeks at 28 weeks at my birth center. BUT, sice my last was at 29 weeks, cause of the holidays, the next one is 3 weeks from that, so that it lands on even weeks, lol. So, after my 32 I go every 2 weeks, then weekly after 36 weeks.

@Adira: I thought it sounded pretty special, but I've seen other mommas on HB mention they got them in the 30-something weeks too! I think they check baby's position so they know if she's breech and size? I know my OB's office is really cool about u/s though - they have their own wonderful machines and full time ultrasound techs. Also, IDK if it has to do with my previous m/c, but my OB is always pretty attentive and tells me things like "oh I hope you get a good picture!" I love them!

@Adira: Yep, at my birth center we start bi-weekly appointments at 28 weeks, and then weekly at 36 weeks.
No more ultrasounds for me though unless something comes up.

I'm so jealous of you ladies and your appointments! I feel like my office is the only one that spaces out the appointments so far apart at the end!
But on a better note, here's my 32 Week Photo! I just realized my bump is HUGE in comparison to where it was 4 weeks ago. Or maybe I'm just getting fat.

@Adira: I agree with @aprk: perfect and round. You look fab!!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@aprk: @Smurfette: You ladies are sweet! I just can't believe how much bigger it looks from 28 weeks, although I guess I really shouldn't be surprised. I've gained 7 lbs in the last 4 weeks!!! I'm hoping from here on out I'm able to get my eating under control and the belly doesn't get too much bigger!

@Adira: don't let the numbers make you nuts. You look fabulous!
I hope that when I'm as far along as you are I look half as good

@Adira: Nope! You look AWESOME! I agree, a perfect round bump and you're all bump, skinny everywhere else!
@aprk: You look AWESOME too! Rounding out for sure, but actually doesn't look too much bigger for 7 weeks! wow!

@Adira: @aprk: You both look so cute with your bellies!
@Adira: My midwife group starts scheduling appointments every 2 weeks after 28 weeks. Because of the holidays, I got pushed back a week, so my schedule looks like this: 27, 29, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, etc. I don't have anymore scheduled ultrasounds, although the office does have a portable machine that they use sometimes after 32w to check position and size. I hope that I'll get to take a peek at the baby sometime this month!
I had my maternity photos this weekend, and it was a lot of fun! Here's a teaser that my photographer posted on facebook. I was surprised at how pregnant I look (although I was definitely posed in such a way to emphasize my belly).

@adira and @aprk and @mole: I love your photos! I didn't think I've gotten that much bigger since my last bump pic, and then I realized that it was at 23 weeks! So, maybe tomorrow my project will be to see if I can self-photo (just made that verb up) a baby bump pic to compare.
No more ultrasounds for me, my birth center doesn't do them unless they think they need to. My last one was at almost 17 weeks, at a boutique, where I learned I was having a girl. At the time, hubby and I talked about getting another 3d/4d one in the third trimester, but now that we're here, we just figure we'll just save our money and wait for the real baby in a few weeks.
@mole: your schedule looks a lot like mine, except I went from 24 to 29 weeks...now going onto the 32 and the rest is the same as yours. I was a little bummed to not be going in 2 weeks, but still happy I didn't have to wait a whole month. A lesson in patience.

@aprk: @shopaholic: @katiew92081: Thank you! I can't wait to see the rest of the photos.
@katiew92081: I need to learn more patience too. Thankfully, I have an appointment tomorrow.

@aprk: You're looking fabulous!! I'm curious if your bump will do what mine did between 28 and 32 weeks and totally pop!
@mole: Ahhhh!!!! I love that picture!!!! I'm so jealous you had professional photos done! Your bump looks sooooo good!!
@shopaholic: @mole: @katiew92081: Thank you ladies for the kind words!!!

You guys all look GREAT!! I need to take a decent bump photo instead of the one by the closet with all the messiness in the back
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Girl, you don't look like you have gained weight anywhere but the belly.
@aprk: You look fabulous too!
@mole: Beautiful pic! You have a nice round belly too!
@shopaholic: I am guessing the doctor will just feel and know where the baby is located. I am so scared she is going to be breech. So I am hoping the doc can tell me something next week as to where she is cause I have no clue!

Ladies - Last night I had the first dream about delivery and I will tell you that is something I'm scared of for real! All this time I've actually thought a C-section wouldn't be as bad, but in my dream I had to get a C-section and I was SO terrified while they were cutting me open!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: How far along are you going to be? My doctor hasn't checked the baby's position at all yet - is that normal? Maybe they'll check at my 36 week appointment.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I will be 31 1/2 weeks. No clue if she will be able to tell or not. But I am going to ask. I think that they aren't really concerned till 36 weeks what the position is. I think even at this point if she is head down, she can still turn.
@shopaholic: While I like the idea of a c-section cause that doesn't mean pushing out a human through my privates, in the long run a c-section really scares me more. Fingers crossed no one of us have to have one.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh, okay. Maybe my doctor will check at 36 weeks. When I was 20 weeks at my anatomy scan, the baby was head down and the ultrasound tech thought maybe he'd just stay that way, but who really knows. He's definitely been moving a lot lately, so I can't tell what position he's in anymore!
@shopaholic: I'm nervous about a c-section just because it's surgery and I've heard that the recovery time is longer! But I'm also nervous about what my lady-parts are going to be like after pushing a baby out! I don't think there's any winning, haha.
bananas / 9973 posts
@Smurfette: @Adira: Seriously! My honest response to people when they ask me about delivery is "I wish they could knock me out and just wake me up when it's over and baby's out." I even dread all the childbirth classes just because I know I'll have to think about it.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: I think that's why I'm not taking any childbirth classes! I honestly don't want to be that well-informed about what's coming because I think it's all going to just totally freak me out. I just want to go and get as drugged up as possible and not feel a thing!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: Whichever of us goes first will have to try to sugarcoat the whole experience for the other one.

@Adira: oh yeah like "it was like a feather floating out the window..." hahahahha
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@shopaholic: hahaha, yeah! I mean, I want to be able to remember the experience, but I honestly don't want to feel any of it! And I hope I don't see any of the mess that happens, haha.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Yeah she was heads down at 20 weeks and then at 24 weeks she was feet down. I felt a couple flips this week, so who knows where she is.
@shopaholic: @Adira: I agree! So scared about what labor is going to do to the lady parts. I want to still enjoy sex! That is my fear, it is going to change that for DH and me. We are taking labor and delivery class in early Feb, so I can give y'all the cliff notes.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: @shopaholic: Oh my gosh, I'm worried about that too. The pregnancy has already made so uninterested in sex and I'm just worried that things won't go back to normal for us in the sex-department once the baby is born.
My doctor seems okay with me not taking childbirth classes but is concerned that I won't know the early signs of labor, haha. You ladies will have to let me know what to look for. And I'll just hope one of you goes into labor first to tell me what to look out for.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: Just make sure your husband knows it is normal for you to poop, throw up, etc during labor. My friend used to be a labor and delivery nurse, so she didn't take a class either. Said that she wished she did cause her husband was freaking out during labor cause he didn't know what to expect. I have had other friends that didn't take a class and they were fine during labor. I will pass along what we learn for sure!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: haha, just told Hubs about the throwing up and the pooping! Apparently he knew about the poops, but not about throwing up. His response: "I'm just going to leave the room..."
bananas / 9973 posts
@Adira: My Dr. wasn't too concerned if we didn't get the class too since we're taking it mid-Feb. She said in case the baby came earlier than that she'd coach me through it.

@Adira: You look so great!
Just wanted to check in on all you March mamas! It's getting so close; hope you guys are more prepared than I am right now!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Ummm... I don't feel prepared! Our nursery is still being painted, we haven't had our "Caring for your Newborn" class yet, and I still need to have my shower and get (hopefully) all the supplies we need! The next couple months are going to be BUSY!
bananas / 9973 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Aww... that's so sweet of you!
I'm feeling pretty good about where I am. I like to be prepared and I think I'm on top of everything so that if the baby came anytime by mid-Feb. we'd be ready for her. At least, that's my plan and what I hope! I don't want to be stressed at all in the last few weeks.
I'd definitely say the "nesting" has begun as I feel more motivated to get things done and clean and organize!

So... I mentioned a few weeks ago how I had three tiny stretch marks show up. They stayed tiny and unobtrusive for a few weeks but this week... they've grown! My little stretch marks have become larger, more angry looking, stretch marks. AND I have a new one on the other side of my stomach!!! BLAH! I've been trying to lather myself up with lotion morning and night (and often in the middle of the day), but I just know it won't work (my mom had stretch marks too).
Anyone else seen any stretch marks yet?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Haha! I am no way prepared. We have nothing for her yet, except some toys, clothes and furniture still in boxes. We are moving the 2nd weekend in Feb, so we are going to be down to the wire getting ready.
@Adira: I haven't seen any yet. I later up with cocca butter twice a day. I know they are coming though. Sorry yours have gotten angry!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: I probably should get a better moisturizer. I currently just use a regular Vaseline Lotion, but maybe I should switch to Cocoa Butter or something similar! Or maybe it's too late... haha. I hope you get lucky and never see them!

@Adira: My StepMIL is a doctor and told me to make sure that I use something with Vitamin E and gain weight gradually. But she did she it is genetic, so that really is the driving force.
