@Arden: holy moly, I haven't even thought of a hospital bag yet!!!!

@cheert16: You look great!! I feel like my thighs are growing just as much as my belly!

@Arden: It's hard to keep up on this board some days! I hate when it starts on a new page and I have to go back and forth!

I started packing our hospital bags this past weekend when I was in a crazy nesting mode one night. I've made a list and slowly checking things off. So far they're just all folded in no order in one suitcase for now. What kind of mailers are you getting? I haven't gotten anything.

@katiew92081: Looking great mama! You look really tall!

@cheert16: Yay for the dance room pic! I always wished I could take dance! You look awesome and trust me I can relate on the booty thing! I think my belly and butt are growing at the same rate! My sister told me my butt looked "juicy" a couple of weeks ago.

    @Shopaholic: I'm only 5'1"...not tall at all!

@cheert16: haha, I love your comment about your booty! And you're looking fabulous! And don't worry - my thighs (and double chin) are growing with my belly!

So I found some cocoa butter! I'm hoping this stuff works magic and helps subdue my current stretch marks and prevents more! Also, Hubs says I now smell like food.

@Adira: Yeah I am not fond of the smell, but so far it seems to be working. Fingers crossed!

@adira: Good luck with the cocoa butter. Like @smurfette, I don't like the smell, but if it works, it's probably worth it. I suppose it could smell worse!

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: @katiew92081: haha, yeah, I just hope people can't really notice at work - it's a pretty strong smell, but both my pants and my shirt cover my stomach, so I'm hoping that's keeping the odor at bay, haha. And if it works, then it's totally worth it!

@Adira: I def. have an extra chin or 2 now!

Umm this is a total overshare but anyone struggling with constipation?? I seriously dont think i can eat any more fiber.... any ideas?

  12. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I am sure they can't smell it. No one has said anything to me. I put it on as soon as I get out of the shower in the morning. So I think the smell goes away by the time I get dressed. I only put on my belly and boobs and use regular lotion everywhere else. DH doesn't smell it at night when I apply it.

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@cheert16: Yes, constipation is the WORST. Every time I go, it's a struggle and I want to cry. And then I just pray to the toilet gods that I don't plug the toilet! Sorry if that's TMI!!! I THINK it helps when I eat my Fiber One bars at work - I have two that I eat in the afternoon that make up 55% of my fiber for the day (14 g total) and I think when I eat those, it helps. But I don't really have any other advice.

@Smurfette: I put mine on also as soon as I get out of the shower, so hopefully at least by the time I get to work, it's not as noticeable. I did use it for the first time last night before bed, which is when Hubs told me I smelt like food, haha. Hopefully he just gets used to it.

@Adira: @cheert16: Since I am having to take extra iron, which causes constipation, I am actually doing better. I take 2 gummi vitamins in the AM with Colace (stool softener) and then drink some Citrucel before dinner and another Colace at night with my vitamins. Things have been a lot better since starting all this. I would highly recommend the colace, don't feel like you have to push as much.

@Smurfette: Thanks for the advice! I may have to pick some up when I go shopping tomorrow!

@Adira: I live off fiber 1 bars!! I have a box in my desk at work! In fact I am eating one as I type (and avoiding doing any work today!)

@Smurfette: I am def. going to be hitting the drug store tomorrow to see what I can get to help!

@katiew92081: Wow! Really?! You must have great posture then and carrying baby so well!

@cheert16: I take Colace or Psyllium Husk Fiber supplements every night to try and keep a little "regular." Especially with the iron supplements, I NEED to take them every night! Yay for passing your GT!!!

@Adira: I've been using the Palmer's Cocoa Butter cream in a tube. I don't find the smell too strong. Before that I was using the Mustela cream, but I don't think it's as thick (smells wonderful though) and I just want to make sure to "baste" myself in hopes of preventing stretch marks!

@cheert16: WOO HOO!! Great news. Now have some ice cream tonight to celebrate.

@mole: So I just bought my first cloth diapers!!!
I have no idea how they'll work out, but I just couldn't resist how cute they'd be, if even just for at home and for photo ops!

They are "diaper covers" with snap in inserts? From all the reviews of this brand, I only found "pocket diapers" but with pretty good reviews. This style is new according to their FB page, but I guess you can just snap in new inserts and re-use if it didn't soak through? I'm learning....

so turns out that no news IS good news! I passed my 1-hr GD test (though I was on the borderline at 139, when 140 would have meant I failed!..but the OB said it's nothing to worry about).

@tororojo: @Adira: @cheert16: @Smurfette: Thanks Ladies! Who'd ever think "oh diapers! so cute!" me? Never in a million years before HB!

    Everyone is looking so good!

@cheert16: @cokiezombie: Congrats to you both!
@shopaholic: Gah those are so adorable! Yeah, you can generally use the covers a couple of changes; you just need to change the insert! The covers are nice too because they dry really quickly after a wash.

I have been trying to get a lot of my items on my "to do before baby" checklist. This week, I finally signed up for a hospital tour, a meeting with a pediatrician, and a breastfeeding class. We were on the fence about the class, but one of its perks is support and coaching after birth, if necessary.

My husband's birthday is next week, so we are celebrating with a long weekend in Mammoth. He will snowboard while I will just lounge around. I did schedule my first prenatal massage, though, while we are here. I can't wait! Anyone else have any fun weekend plans?

    @mole: @shopaholic: Yall both a great trip!

I am spending Sat packing. My goal is to get the office done and all the baby stuff so far. Sunday is my 1st shower! I am so excited. I found out a friend from Chicago is making a stop in Atlanta to visit family and come to my shower, before heading to TN for a work conference.

@shopaholic: whoa, crazy! How funny would that be if we ran into each other!
@Smurfette: yay for your shower! Have a great time, and good luck packing.

@mole: @shopaholic: Oh fun!!! You two have fun in Mammoth!

@Smurfette: That's so cool that your friend is going to be able to make it to your shower!!! It's always so sweet when someone who doesn't live close makes an effort to attend something like that! How exciting!!

This weekend we're painting the nursery!!! Nursery is all primed, so this weekend is COLORS!!! I'm both nervous and excited!!! I just hope it looks as good in person as it does in my mind, haha! Assuming we are able to finish it, I'll definitely post pictures!

I managed to live through my glucose test (although I felt SO sick the rest of the day), should have the results on Monday. I hope I pass!
