@Arden: OMG, I don't have any of that, lol!!! I guess I need to go shopping...

@Adira: I don't have any of it either ... I was thinking of loading it into my Amazon cart and ordering from the hospital. Don't want to stock up on anything I might not need. Amazon Prime is a lifesaver.

    @aprk: haha, that's a good idea!

@Adira: Thanks! Yup, e had to re-schedule for another 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll have the energy to do them still. Another thing on the ceiling fan or fan (because we have one already too), she said to keep it just on the lowest setting. It's just about air circulation and not actually temperature.

And YAY for being 35/35! I didn't realize that was such a cute little mile marker!

RE: Nursing and Postpartum Stuff - I'm scared to buy stuff not quite knowing what size I'll need. I have a couple of nursing sleep bras ready so that's pretty simple and stretchable. I bought 1 pack of heavy maxi pads for the hospital and one tube of Lanolin. I heard they give you the nursing pads at the hopsital, but I found one pack of re-usable nursing pads and 1 2-pk of cooling gel breast pads on clearance so I have those too. That's it. I'm hoping to snag that perineum spray and other postpartum stuff at the hospital like others have said they did.

@Smurfette: Yay! Exciting on choosing the pain color and moving in this weekend! I bet you can't wait to get started! If anything, just on the nursery! I forget, were you planning on baby sleeping in your room in the beginning at all? Or immediately in the nursery? If not immediately, I guess you have time to sort everything out. But either way, I bet you're excited to do the nursery the most! The colors sound lovely!

@katiew92081: You're so close to your next goal date!

@Arden: Wow great list and way to be ready! I think I don't have most of that stuff, but I DO have the stool softener! LOL! Need to take it everyday already for my iron supplements!

Ladies - Last night I had my first emotional cry over how uncomfortable I feel and just general pain. It's been building all week and I literally feel raw and tender and sor all around my entire body/torso like 360 degrees! Ribs especially and my tummy just feels like it weighs so heavily. The OB had told me ribs are growing and probably my ab muscles are sore because they were pretty strong to begin with. Up till now, I don't think DH really understood or sympathized how much pain I've been in, but finally last night after my FIL's big 70th bday party, I was SO tired, SO achy, and could NOT find a comfy position to lie down in bed still. Tears just started pouring out of my eyes and DH felt so bad I think. He tried talking to baby and telling her not to hurt me I was reading online and I guess being short/short torso does make it a lot more cramped in there. All night at the party women were telling me (when I told them how uncomfortable I was) that "at least you're carrying small" and "just wait till you get bigger" and "what if you were as big as I was when I was pregnant - so much worse...blah blah blah." I could barely eat anything all day - sitting was so uncomfortable. I told DH I need to go on a liquid diet just so things can get down into my stomach now. I think the final trick was just to take 2 Tylenol and fell asleep still with tears in my eyes.

@shopaholic: Awww, I'm sorry about how uncomfortable you've been feeling!!! I've been uncomfortable too, but I don't think it's to the extent that you're dealing with because I have a decent length torso. I don't think our husbands really have ANY idea what we're going through or feel throughout the day, so it probably surprised him when you finally broke down! At least he was sweet about it!!!

Also, it totally sucks those women were just minimizing your feelings! I hate it when people are all "Oh, well at least ______" instead of just sympathizing with you. So annoying!

At least we only have a few more weeks left and then our babies will be here and won't be crowding our ribs anymore! I have noticed that the baby keeps getting his head or butt squished against my ribs and that's soooo uncomfortable. I've also noticed that I just can't catch my breath anymore - I get winded so easily now!

    I hope you feel better!!!

@shopaholic: I'm sorry you had such a rough day yesterday. I totally empathize - I am short waisted also and at only 31 weeks, I am terrified of how getting bigger every week will take its toll on me. Sitting is uncomfortable, and no position in bed is really that great either. Do you have a yoga ball to bounce on?

  7. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Adira: Thanks for commiserating! Yeah, the hard to breathe thing has kicked in a lot the past week too. I will just lie there huffy and puffy for big gulps of air.

@aprk: Thanks also for the empathy! I feel like I'm being a cry baby about it all, especially when people keep telling me how small I am. I DO have a yoga ball that I've been meaning to try. Need to dig around and find the air pump to blow it up! I did read that it helps baby drop lower?

@shopaholic: Well technically we aren't moving in till the 9th. This weekend we are painting her room and my Dad is going to come over so we can use his truck to pick up the glider. She is going to sleep in our room for awhile. Esp. since her room is on the opposite side of the house. I just want to get it done cause I know when people come over to see her they are going to want to see it. But if it isn't done oh well. But getting it done will help me to feel more ready for her arrival.

I am sorry you had a breakdown last night. I had that the end of November when I was sick. I do think that we have all been there. It is rough. I am so over not being able to get comfy at night and this lower back pain from sleeping. I would agree, having a short torso has to make it harder on you. Not as much room for her. I think a liquid milkshake diet is a great idea. Hope today is better for you!!

@shopaholic: I think it definitely helps open the pelvis up, and I find that it's the only thing that feels comfortable for my back and ribs. The movement is sort of soothing. Hope it helps a little for you!

Saturday I was changing to go to dinner, and I needed to change my bra. My nipples were a little wet. It was a little amount so I couldn't make out the color, thinking it was colostrum, but I know that is supposed to be yellow. I haven't noticed anything since then. Anyone else having this?

Seems kind of early, or no? 33 weeks yesterday.

  11. Arden

@Smurfette: Yeah I'm having this - clear liquid coming out a few drops at a time. I can get a few more drops if I squeeze.

  12. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

Has everyone been doing the daily kick counts? I keep forgetting, and I feel terrible because I what if I didn't notice if there was a problem?

  13. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Arden: Are you having it every day? I squeezed a few more drops out but then nothing else. I guess I will just watch for it.

I am not counting kicks. Just more mentally try and see if I feel her as much every day. Only time she is consistent is at night. During the day she can move a ton one day and the next not as much.

  14. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Smurfette: Not every single day, but often. It seems to happen more in the evening/night.

  15. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Arden: I haven't been counting the kicks but that's mostly because I'm usually preoccupied by someone climbing me and wanting my attention. I haven't noticed any changes in kicking except at night, the babe sends more restless. But then again I can't seem to find a comfortable position on my side anymore so I'm not surprised every time I flip over, he/she does too.

  16. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Arden: I haven't been counting kicks, but at this point, baby's got a pattern that I can follow, so I usually only really pay attention when he's gone off schedule, if that makes sense. Usually he's active every 2 hours or so, so if it feels like it's been a while without any kicking, I note the time and try to pay attention to see if he kicks. I don't know what I would do if he doesn't start doing anything after an hour, but he's always done something after I noticed it's been a while, so I haven't been worried about it yet.

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@shopaholic & @adira: I can't breathe either. I just went grocery shopping and it completely wore me out.

I agree about short torsos. I think I would be more comfortable if she weren't hanging out so far in front of me!

@aprk: Great idea about the amazon list! I just used up my free month of Amazon prime that I got when I registered my kindle. But, I think I'll just switch the kindle to be on hubby's account and get another month free, haha.

A yoga ball is a great idea! I wasn't thinking about getting one, but it sounds super comfy at this point. I find it easier to sit on the arms of my couch instead of the seat, lol. The perch makes everything feel a little better.

@smurfette and @arden: Yeah, I don't even have to squeeze...I'm leaking I think clear is just the cleansing milk...colostrum is opaque. Technically, a baby could drink it, but it's so little it wouldn't do much good, lol.

If I were to count kicks, I'd lose track. This baby is always on the move!

Yesterday while they were monitoring me at the hospital, baby girl got the hiccups. It was really interesting listening to it on the monitor. Cheered me up.

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@katiew92081: Ugh, I'm going grocery shopping tonight (well, depending on the weather), and I am NOT looking forward to it. I don't like walking around for long periods of time because it just hurts my pelvis and my feet and I get so tired!

I did buy a pack of newborn diapers today. It was a little surreal. I bought wipes last week. I felt so weird buying both of these, I have no idea why. I know they're on my list and I needed them...just made it all so real!

Got the Snugamoney Rock n Play in the mail today! I put it together and it's sooo cute. I'm so glad I caught that Target sale!

@Arden: SCORE! Speaking of good deals, DH got a City Micro Stroller (not the City Mini, but the City Micro) for $50 on clearance at Target just this morning!!

@shopaholic: aww I'm sorry that you were in pain last night ..this entire pregnancy, I have been sleeping on my right. I know that you're supposed to sleep on your left, but when I do, my ribcage area feels extremely tight so I end up on my right. Hey, whatever is comfortable right?!

and my dad found my olddddd exercise ball in his garage this weekend, so you bet DH will be blowing it up so I can use it to sit/bounce on!

  22. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@cokiezombie: Wow, that's fantastic! We want the City Mini GT, we've been keeping our eyes open for a deal. I'm not sure if it ever goes on sale...

  23. cokiezombie

    apricot / 286 posts

@Arden: We already have the UppaBaby Vista, but couldn't resist the City Micro deal for $50. plus it'll come in handy when we travel. My 2 year old niece is using the City Mini..so I'm just waiting for her to outgrow it and hand it down to her future cousin

  24. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@cokiezombie: Why does everyone find great deals at Target but me? My Target doesn't have anything good!

  25. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Smurfette: I feel your pain. My Target only has cribs on clearance and the ones they have are the styles I detest... I think it's a conspiracy.

  26. shopaholic

    bananas / 9973 posts

@Smurfette: Yeah - that makes sense. Everyone wants to see the room done!

I haven't noticed any leaking or colostrum yet, but I have been on the lookout. Nipples are more tender though.

Thankfully today I've felt a lot better and less sore everywhere than yesterday. IDK why, but I'm glad for it!

@Arden: I've never even bothered with the kick count sheet. OB said to see if she kicks at least 4 times in any given hour and she definitely does, so I don't worry about it.

@katiew92081: Perched huh? Haven't thought of that sitting position yet! I just want to lie back at an incline! That's so cool you got to hear her hiccup on the monitor! Mine likes to hiccup a lot at night and sometimes early in the morning.
Yay on the diapers and wipes! We got some at our showers and I exchanged a couple of clothing pieces for wipes at Target too last week. Just feels GOOD to start a little stockpile! The Honest Co. diapers & wipes I ordered from Zulily should be arriving tomorrow or Wednesday - IDK why, but I'm excited for those!

@Arden: Yay! I know a lot of moms on here really recommend and love the RnP! Especially the SnugaMonkey ones! We now have 3 different swings so I really can't fathom having another similar contraption. Two are hand-me-downs, otherwise I'd trade one in for a RnP for sure!

@cokiezombie: Whoo hoo! That's MY kind of bargain hunting! That's AWESOME! And yeah, I have found the whole pregnancy that sleeping on my Right side is more comfy than the Left side too. But the last month or so, I need to change positions no matter which side like every 1-2 hours.

  27. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Smurfette: Check online! My target never has anything good in store, but right now online they are running a great sale (which is how I got the RnP).

  28. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@smurfette: our target donated old clearance items to the goodwill across the street from them. My mil works there so I've gotten a few pieces of baby clothes brand new from there.

@shopaholic: my belly has been more comfortable today too. I think the baby is lower so my ribs and lungs got a break!

Yeah, try sitting on the arm of the couch. Its higher and firmer.

  29. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

I don't know if any of you have a glider or rocking chair or something for your nursery yet but I've found that if a yoga ball's not working and sitting on the couch is just too uncomfortable? I can sit in the glider in Henry's room without any twinges or pain. Could be you need something with a firm base and thick foam padding (which is what my glider's basically constructed out of). Might help!

  30. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@NaturallyCathy: Thanks! We are pickin up our glider finally, been in for a month, on Sunday.

So tonight I was laying on the couch, DH was in the office working, when I realized how much she was moving and I looked down. Girl must have thought she was at a baseball game, cause she was doing to wave. Saw it a couple times so I called DH to come and then of course she stopped. Stubburn little thing. But it was so cool to see!!

Ah, my hand is swollen this morning. I had to take my ring off. I only have one wedding ring, no engagement ring, so it's sitting in my jewelry box for a few hours. Hopefully it was just a fluke and later today I can put it back on. Might have been from the virus this past weekend. Or maybe it's cause I'm pregnant, lol.

  33. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: I hope it is a fluke too. I have had a couple days like that. I have been able to wear all three of my bands since the last one, although they are starting to get tight.

Yay! Husband just ordered the carseat!

Kohl's has a great baby sale going on right now, fyi! We got a grat deal on a Graco Myride, but pretty much all baby stuff is on sale there.

    It's getting real! lol!

  35. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

Random question ladies: how many newborn diapers do you think I should get? I have a few packs of size 1 and I'm assuming I should pick up some newborns just to be on the safe side, but I'm wondering how many I really need. I don't want to get a ton and then only use two of them, you know? But I also don't want to have to go out and buy more on day 2! What do you ladies think?

  36. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: I am planning on just getting one package to start with. That should get us through a couple days at home. I know too the hospital usually sends some home too. I don't want to buy too many since never know what size baby is going to be. I have plenty of friends that went to size 1 within a week or so.

  37. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: Thanks! I guess I'll probably do the same and pick up a package and just go from there. If our baby ends up being on the small side and we need more, I'll just have to send Hubs out to buy some.

  38. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@adira: I bought a pack of newborn diapers yesterday, and there's 48 to a package of the brand I got. I'm guessing it's about the same for most brands. The size goes up to 10 pounds, but honestly, they grow out of them usually, before the weight limit. They go through 9-12 diapers in a day in the beginning, so I guess buy a pack or two and then go from there? What's the weight on the size 1 diapers? I haven't bought them, yet, since my shower isn't until Sunday.

Speaking of my shower...people are buying registry stuff! And it's boring stuff that I actually need, like nursing pads and washcloths! Yay! I seriously registered for 3 boxes of nursing pads, cause with my son I was a crazy leaker. Three boxes isn't gonna get me very far, but I guess it looks better than registering for 15 boxes, haha. I'm just happy they're gonna show up, cause I've been debating buying a box. This will hold me over until after baby comes.

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@katiew92081: I think the size 1 packs I have start at 8 lbs, so I could probably use those pretty early, depending on how big the baby is when he is born. Thank you for the advice - I'll definitely get at least one package of newborns just to be on the safe side, and then go from there.

Yay about people buying from your registry!!! That's so exciting to see things get purchased! When is your shower?

  40. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@adira: It's on Sunday. It's going to be pretty small...less than 20 people. But that's fine, cause I don't need a ton of stuff, but it'll still be nice to celebrate the baby with my friends.
