Fact: Pickle juice makes heartburn go away!
Seriously, I woke up tonight with crazy heartburn issues and just couldn't get back to sleep. With no meds in the house (and no desire to venture out in the middle of the night for them), I scoured the internet and found out that pickles work. I have been sitting here, eating dill chips for the past 10 minutes, and it's clearing up, just like magic! I'm half tempted to take a swig of the juice, but the chips seem to be doing the job!
Yay!

@katiew92081: sorry about the heartburn, but glad you found something that works! Looks like I need to stock up on some pickles

@aprk: I woke up with it back, but I managed to finish sleeping comfortably, even without any of the gross burps that come out of me all day. The pickle juice was gross...I did take a swig, but it worked so well that I won't hesitate to do it again. Sure is better than taking any medications! Now I'm awake and upright, my heartburn won't bother me as much.

So, we're home from the circus...it was EXHAUSTING! All 3 of us are worn out. DS was super impressed...me and DH, not so much, haha. It's definitely a show for 5 year olds!
Tomorrow is my shower! I'm excited! Feels like it's gonna be the last thing on the grand to-do list before baby comes.

@katiew92081: Oooh, that pickle juice tip is helpful! I'll need to go buy some pickles and test it out!
Glad you had fun at the circus!! And so exciting about your shower tomorrow! That will be a blast!
@cheert16: Have fun today!!! Hope you get lots of good items!!!

So my best friend came over for my maternity photos! I definitely think I maybe waited too long to get them done because I look like a beached whale in some of them, but many of them turned out decent!

@Adira: You look great!!! I love the silhouette one too!
I am so tired and having the worse heartburn. And we have no pickles since Tums aren't doing anything.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Thank you! I'm happy with how they turned out!
Ugh, heartburn is the worse. So far Tums are still working for me. Sorry to hear they aren't working for you.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: They usually do but I have never had it as bad as I am now. I think I am going to try some ice cream and see if that helps:)

@smurfette: yeah heartburn doesn't go way for me I hope yours gets better!
I guess no one likes registries for my shower. Nothing is being bought off mine! I suppose diapers are nice too!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@katiew92081: I found a bunch of people bought stuff, but just bought them elsewhere from my registry! So I got a lot of stuff off my registry, but my registry didn't reflect it.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@adira: I'm not too worried about it. My parents and dh's parents are giving us the pnp and swing we want, so really anything else is just extra. Diapers ARE the most practical for us, so it would make sense to give us those. My registry is pretty much just a list of ideas in case people didn't know what to get us, lol. We don't need a lot...crib sheets and bath stuff, but even that we can deal without people buying them. I have crib sheets left over from my son, even though they're blue (which, really doesn't matter) and the bath stuff I can get if I need it.

Oh my gosh, ladies, some of us only have FOUR WEEKS left!!! I'm curious to see what order we all end up delivering in and if any of us end up having February babies! Yikes!!

@Adira: one week till full term!!!
@aprk: looking great!!
I was going to take mine today and DH left the camera card in his computer at the condo. So I am going to take one on my phone in a bit. I am resting, DH and Dad are finishing hanging blinds. Mom is about finished painting nursery. Getting so excited. Now I just need them to hurry up baby and I are hungry for lunch.

Just checking in since I haven't posted anything in a few days over here. LO inside is tickling my hip bones in the most disturbing and uncomfortable manner. I'm not able to sleep past a certain time, even if Henry's still sleeping. And I find that I am having the worst time lately getting to sleep and returning to sleep after Henry's woken me in the middle of the night. No real reason as far as I can tell, other than I'm awake. Not thrilled with this development. I spend more and more time tired which isn't making me the easiest or most lovable person to be around right now...

Oh, and I'm freezing DH and LO in our house at night because I'm absolutely burning up even though I'm throwing covers off in my sleep. It's terrible. Especially since the vent in our room (all the vents are on the ceiling) is pointed right at my feet. I can't switch sides with DH because my side's A) closest to the bathroom for those late night runs and B) closest to the door so I can get to Henry in the middle of the night. It's absolutely terrible. Especially since I think it got down to 18 degrees here last night!

Whoa! Gotta catch up on this thread!
@NaturallyCathy: Happy Birthday to Henry and ouch on your ankle! Hope wrapping it is helping.
@katiew92081: I feel you! I'm counting down 2 weeks till full term and even the Dr. said I could will her to come out then! Sorry about the swelling and nausea!
@Smurfette: YAY! CONGRATS on the house! So exciting!
@cheert16: @katiew92081: How were your baby showers? I bet you guys had a great time!
@Adira: Beautiful pictures! Your BF takes really nice pictures! I esp love the last 2! Whoo hoo! One week till full term!
@aprk: Looking great!
As For Me: I'm 35 weeks. We're in the mountains for our last trip up here before baby. Everyone wants to feel the baby kick and as soon as i try to put their hands on the spot, she stops. The altitude up her is really HARD on a pregnant belly! Bloating and gas with an already big belly is a lot of pressure!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far! Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

@aprk: You look great!!
@Smurfette: Oh my gosh, love that bump photo! What a great spot to take them, right next to the fireplace!
I feel like both you ladies have such cute bumps and mine is ginormous! Have you both avoided stretch marks too??
@shopaholic: Oooh, I forgot you were in the mountains! Are you having fun?? I know what you mean about people trying to feel the baby kick! Mine is never cooperative, so no one except Hubs has felt him. Oh well!
@Smurfette: Sounds like you had a very productive weekend with the new house!!! Soooo exciting! And congratulations again!
My parents brought the new crib over and put it together! They also helped me move some furniture around and put some stuff away, so my living room/dining room is no longer just full of boxes and bags. I can't believe it's February and our babies are all due in March!!!

@Adira: They turned out good! I especially like the silhouette one.

I'll catch up on posts in a little bit.
I had a really lovely shower! Got TONS of clothes and towels! Diapers and wipes, too, so yay for that!
So funny, I didn't get any blankets or bibs at all! I need to go buy some receiving blankets. I got a few gift cards, though, so they'll be covered.
It was great fun! There weren't a lot of people, but there was a ton of presents!

@Adira: Yay! I can't wait to see pictures of his nursery all together. I think that I will keep taking pictures in this spot. Next Sunday we will be living there. Just will be a TV in the background. I am so tired! Going to be so busy the next two weeks.
@shopaholic: Don't worry my little girl stops as soon as others touch my belly too. It was last Sunday before anyone other then DH felt her kick. It made my Mom's night. Hope you had a great weekend in the mountains.
@katiew92081: So glad that you had a great shower. We didn't get bibs as gifts either but my last shower I got 4 blankets, so we are good there. Post some pictures.

DH finally saw baby girl move tonight. He had the biggest smile and was commenting how cool it was. Now she had her butt (we are assuming) all on one side. It is rock hard and my belly is totally lopsided.

@Smurfette: I'm thinking next weekend I really need to buckle down and get to work on the nursery. I have a bunch of decor I need to put up and I think I need to buy a bookcase or something. Ugh, I just don't know how/where I want things!
So exciting that you'll be living in your new house next week!!! That will be such a relief too to have that behind you before the baby shows up!!
I'm glad your husband was excited to see the baby moving! Mine was totally creeped out because it reminded him of the aliens from Alien!
@katiew92081: Yay for your shower!!! That's funny you didn't get blankets or bibs - I got soooooo many blankets, although not very many receiving blankets, so I need to get some in order to be able to swaddle. I got mostly fleece blankets. Now you get to have the fun of organizing everything and putting it away. My shower was two weeks ago and I JUST started putting things away today, haha.

@Adira: Yeah, we are still up here. Sister and friends just left a little while ago and we are here for another day. I'm more than ready to go home and keep working on the nursery! I did start knitting my very first baby blanket though! I've never knit a blanket but I found a really cute chenille baby yarn that matched her car seat, so I figured it'd be something to do to pass time while we're up here. Will have to post a pic when I am done - but it's taking longer than I imagined. Mostly because it's getting HEAVY to knit and I already have carpal tunnel and tendonitis, so I have to take a lot of breaks.
Nice thing is that my sister finally felt the baby move today! She didn't kick so much as just moving and swimming around. And she and my friend both saw my tummy/shirt moving like in a wave motion. So at least she was nice enough to "show off" a little! hahah
@katiew92081: Glad you had such a nice shower! Isn't that funny when you don't get a ton of things you were expecting? Like I was expecting towels and washcloths and got 1 towel only! I had to go buy a few more! We also only got one set of burpy bibs that I had registered for and a couple that came with matching clothes sets. But I bought some myself beforehand so I was glad for it. Good luck on the blankets! At least those are pretty easy and accessible to get for yourself!
And yes, share some pics!
@Smurfette: Nice! I bet it was her butt! I feel that under my right rib all the time and it does stick out like a hard bulge! What else could it be? lol!
