@cokiezombie: I'm not afraid, but apparently my body is. Every time I start to feel "in the mood", even a little bit, it is instantly followed by nausea. Every. Single. Time.

@Arden: aww i'm so sorry!! Sadly for me, I never even get to that point because the husband gently brushes me off and says that he's afraid of hurting me/baby. boo..

@NaturallyCathy: haha..yes, getting the house taken care of is a great worry of mine too. but what's with the "keeping it soft"? Is it a good thing?

@cokiezombie: From my understanding (and remembering this is my second time around, no classes and no books as guidance), sex is good for keeping your cervix both lubricated and softened for the birthing. Less tearing. Also doing the perineal massage @Arden: mentioned will help but last time I just had sex. Only reason I tore was because DS had long nails and he came out hand first and it was all internally except for like two stitches.

@cokiezombie: my husband has been nervous about it the whole pregnancy. I just have had no interest since I've felt so crummy.

  6. Dandelion

    @dojo: Welcome!

@adira: Stay warm! It looks like it's gonna be pretty nasty from that storm. I would be avoiding work, too...no reason to risk driving in that!

I'm not too worried about losing baby weight...although I am worried about keeping it off. My gain has been real small, so I'm hoping I don't give myself too much slack! Ill be happy to just give birth and weigh less than what I started, but I'm hoping I can stay that way!

@cokiezombie: Not at all. DH is still totally into it. I am, too, but we've been dealing with stomach bugs and colds this week, so neither of us feel real attractive, lol. Just lots of snuggles this week. Couple more weeks, though, and dh knows that it's going to be regular in hopes of getting labor started, lol

Maybe just reassure him that it doesn't hurt the baby, but it makes you feel good, especially when most of the time you're feeling huge and gross (at least I am, maybe you're not, lol). Tell him it would be nice to have some of that kind of attention.

@arden: Nausea, really? That's really strange. I hope that subsides for you!

  7. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@katiew92081: Yeah, for the last month or so. It's awful, strong nausea and I can't fight it off. No sexy time for me.

  8. cokiezombie

    apricot / 286 posts

@NaturallyCathy: I must really tell DH that about the softening!!! The nails part sounds scary.

    @aprk: aww I'm sorry.

@katiew92081: I hope you guys feel better soon! I have sent DH some articles that states it doesn't harm the baby but I think mentally he has a hard time accepting it. I hope that in a few weeks time, he'll realize that it's MUST if we want to get labor going

  9. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@cokiezombie: Honestly, I wouldn't have registered it until much much later and the stitches were tiny. I didn't have any pain from it. He's just managed to grow his nails pretty good and he did come out one hand first, then head, etc.

  10. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@dojo: Welcome and congratulations!! Glad you were able to find us before your due date so we can all go through this labor thing together!

@Smurfette: Thanks! I'm hoping the same thing so I can get some exercise during my leave!

@cokiezombie: Sorry, I'm with @NaturallyCathy - Hubs still wants it all the time and I'm like "eh". Poor guy is being seriously deprived at the moment.

@cokiezombie: Mine hasn't said anything about hurting the baby but he won't do it if she was just kicking. I think I am in the mood more then he is but lately we have both been so tired only happens like once a week
    @Adira: Stay warm tomorrow!!!

Anyone having intuition about when you're expecting baby to arrive? I've been having a weird feeling (and I hope I'm wrong!) that I'll be having a February baby. I'm hoping she'll hold out until the 25th at least!

  13. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: I keep having a feeling she is going to be late and I am going to end up being induced I really want her here by her due date since she has a St Patrick's Day outfit. And I want her here for Easter, cause I want to buy her a cute Easter church dress and then outfit for the rest of the day.

  14. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@smurfette: Haha, yeah I have a green outfit for this baby, too. I'd hate for her to miss out on it, lol. Easter is what, 2 weeks after St. Patty's day. I'll be surprised if you don't go before then!

  15. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@katiew92081: I guess I don't really have a feeling about it one way or the other. I'm worried he's going to be early because my mom delivered a week early with her first. I'm just trying to get as much done as possible now before that happens!

  16. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: Yes, Easter is the 31st. Which that is two weeks after my due date, so I doubt that the doctor will let me go that long. I need to ask next week at my appointment what their policy is.

  17. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@smurfette & @adira: Well, it's a new moon this weekend, which is when I delivered my son preterm. So, I'm going to be analyzing every twinge this weekend. I'm really hoping I'm just paranoid, though.

  18. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: A lady at work was talking about this, only a full moon, the next one is March 27th. I was heck no, that is 10 days past my due date. Baby needs to come before then.

  19. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@smurfette: The next full moon is the 25th! I'd be ok with that, cause I'll be 37 weeks then, and I can go to my birthing center!

I don't know why that lady told you it's not until March 27!

  20. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: I think she was looking in March, since I am not due till the 17th. And first babies are usually late anyway. I definitely don't want her coming on the 25th, that is two weeks away. I won't be ready yet!!!

  21. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@katiew92081: I've been afraid from the beginning that I would have a February baby so I don't think my intuition should count. I desperately hope I'm wrong though... Or at least it comes late February.

  22. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Smurfette: My first baby was four days early. I'm hoping this next one takes a hint from his/her sibling and stays put.

  23. dojo

@katiew92081 lately I have been getting the feeling that it could be early... but I am just hoping to hold out until at least March. My feeling will probably be all wrong though and it will be a week later or something

  24. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@dojo & @smurfette: & @naturallycathy: With ds, I felt so urgent to have his nursery ready so early...I had a feeling he would be early...however, I never even thought to consider he'd be 8 weeks early!

  25. cokiezombie

    apricot / 286 posts

@katiew92081: I always had a gut feeling my baby will arrive a bit before his due date. Let's hope that happens so I don't have to be induced!

  26. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@cokiezombie: Yes, going a few days early naturally is much more preferred to having to be induced!

@cokiezombie: I am with you! I want to avoid pitocin if I can.

Am I a bad mom for wanting this baby to be a little bit early? I am really ready for him to be here. Ok, well, maybe a couple more weeks ...

  29. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@aprk: I have more days like that than I should! I'm so uncomfortable, the idea of going over due is daunting! Of course, I want to have the healthiest baby as possible, but as soon as I hit 37 weeks I'll start all the tricks to get her to come out! At almost 35 weeks, chances are that she'll be able to go home with me when she's born, so I'm not TOO worried if she decides not to wait, hahaha.

I'm worried baby will be early - my mom delivered a week early with her first. But I've been working on the nursery today and I finally found some black yoga pants that will be perfect for after labor, so I'm actually starting to feel a little more ready. Plus a lot of my last registry items have been arriving, so I don't think there's anything more I need to buy.

I'm thinking on Sunday I'll pack my hospital bag and maybe wash the sheets and stuff for the bassinet and the crib, just so that those things are ready. I think once that's done, I'll feel okay if baby comes early.

  32. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@adira: That's what I need to do...finish my hospital bag! I'll be working on that tonight. I have it about 1/2 way packed, but I haven't put any clothes in it, yet. I'm just packing some stretch pants and baggy tshirts. No need to try and impress anyone, lol.

I'm ready for baby to come out anytime! lol! I know I should be more patient and let her keep baking! Last night was incredible - I actually didn't get up to go to the bathroom for 7 hours! And I stayed sleeping in the same position! But perhaps that was because I was SO exhausted from barely getting 5 hrs of sleep the night before.

I need to be good and work on the Birth Plan and documents for the hospital this weekend.

It's raining cats & dogs today and we have our "re-scheduled" maternity shoot tomorrow. I'm hoping the weather cooperates!

Random question - does anyone else feel like they have to get their body in a specific position in order to pee??? I have to really lean forward and arch my back to get any good flow going. And I feel like if I go too long without going, it's harder to get anything started. Is it just me??

  35. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@adira: I remember doing that with ds, but I don't really have that issue now. Your little guy must just be sitting just right on your bladder! If I go too long without going, I barely sit down without it rushing out! lol

  36. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Adira: I'm paranoid it will come early too, that's why last month I got my hospital bag packed and my hospital notebook updated. Especially after my 36 week appointment, I'm glad I did. DH is adding an extra set of clothes for him to my bag so that we'll be completely done with everything we can get done this weekend.

  37. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@aprk: I want her early too just not too early. Anything after 37-38 weeks and I am good with her coming.
@Adira: thanks for keeping up with the list. I wish everyone else would post more. Glad you are feeling more ready and will be even more after the weekend. I feel so behind everyone. I willbe glad when we get the crib up this weekend and I can start going through shower stuff. Figure out what I need to wash and all. And ai never have issue peeing. I have noticed if I lean forward it will empty out more when I think I am finished.

@shopaholic: OMG, totally jealous of 7 hours. I get excited about 3 hours. Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow!! Can't wait to see the pictures.

  38. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@katiew92081: Thanks! It must be the position of the baby! I'm glad you know what I'm talking about - I was wondering if I should be concerned, but so far I've still been able to go as long as I find the right angle, haha.

@NaturallyCathy: You sound more prepared than me, though I did make a list today of everything I want to pack for the hospital, and then this weekend I'm going to start packing everything! And I used your blog post for inspiration, so thanks for that!

Oh, that reminds me - I need to install the car seat this weekend too. THEN I'll feel ready!

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: No worries, you still have time!!! I have less than 3 weeks left and I still haven't installed the car seat, packed my hospital bag, or finished the nursery! I think you'll be fine!

  40. Mrs. Grizzly Bear

    GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts

@Adira: Only more prepared because I'm afraid if I don't do it early, I won't have time to do it later. Henry's keeping me on my toes with this walking business and we've got the whole house business still not quite done, so I'm wrapped up in getting paperwork done. Sometimes I feel like I have two jobs - mom and part time real estate/banker lacky.
